  1. Go for it Colin, the more the merrier!
  2. Assuming the answer is neither "black sheep" nor "Batman", the only connection I can make in my mind is the song "David Watts" which was written by Ray Davies and recorded by The Kinks and later covered by The Jam (with Bruce Foxton singing rather than usual singer/front man Paul Weller). As for the rest of the puzzle .... NFI I'm afraid. I think you'll stump many of us with this one, EO.
  3. The floor is yours Superunknown! In the immortal words of Arthur Daley, the world is your lobster my son.
  4. You left out "Smoke On The Water". I suspect this was not an oversight! If I had to choose just the one Deep Purple song, I'd probably go for "Highway Star".
  5. Deep Purple it is. Thank you linespeople, thank you ballkids and goodnight.
  6. Grateful Dead is correct. One more to go.
  7. I'll make it four if you give somebody else a go!
  8. The Smiths is correct. Numbers 3 and 5 to go.
  9. Four out of four EO. Zero out of three Grr-owl!
  10. You're correct! It was a Hail Mary.
  11. None whatsoever, LDVC! However, just to please WSW, you might like to find a link between these groups of footballers. It's immaterial if you haven't heard of them before but they all played at the highest level. 1. Daniel Ward, Dan Butler and Richard Osborne. 2. Allan Joyce, Jono Rourke and Joseph Marr. 3. Alistair Lord, Bernie Evans and Sam Glover. 4. Greg Williams, Barry Young and Chris Scott. 5. Corey McKernan, Michael Barlow and Royce Hart. 6. Graham Wright, John Barrett and Terry Waters.
  12. Yep, Cowton's nickname was "Crazy Horse", which is also the name of Neil's longtime backing band. Thanks to all who contributed and I hope it was a bit of fun.
  13. Sorry AoB, not correct. edit: Not sure what the "Dave" comment means, but not the right answer.
  14. The Neil Young connection isn't Cowtown, but well played EO.
  15. Well done you lot! The remaining line does verge on the cryptic side.
  16. This is probably a little unfair and not at all necessary, but I'm still going to post it.
  17. It's lockdown and you can tell that I'm quite bored and have way too much time on my hands. Below is a team, listed in position from the backline. Some of the names will be familiar, others less so but all played VFL/AFL. Your task is to find the common link. B: John James Chad Morrison Majak Daw H/B: Alex Keath Ted Richards Neville Stone C: Jason Gram Michael Parsons Craig Bird H/F: Farren Ray Rick Davies Rene Kink F: Lachie Neale George Young Gary Cowton R: Chris Bryan Chris Connolly Eric Sweet Have at it Demon fans!
  18. Is the author related to Jim Cardwell, Melbourne's own legendary "Prince of Secretaries"?
  19. Is there an echo in here?
  20. It was Barry Humphries, who recorded it in 1964 under the title of "Snow Complications". The Coodabeen Champions trot it out each year on Queen's Birthday weekend so you'll hear it at the start of their show this Saturday morning at 10am if you are keen to listen to it all again. Gerry Humphreys was the singer of legendary sixties Australian band The Loved Ones.
  21. Not sure what you're trying to say here, mono. Racism is racism is racism, regardless of the perpetrator.
  22. I'd have to say he looks a long way from being fired up in that pic. Come on son. Be fired with enthusiasm or you'll be fired ... with enthusiasm.
  23. there is no doubt the pies are going to lift hard for Bucks I think there's considerable doubt as expressed by many other learned posters on this forum. They may come out flat and deflated after using up all their emotional energy in the days leading up to the game. As a postscript, why have you felt the need to to change your username no fewer than eleven times? It makes it hard to know who is posting when people keep doing this or changing their avatars all the time.
  24. I'd be happy to see Mark Neeld return to coaching at Collingwood. Or Carlton. I'm not fussy. Meanwhile, good to see past players playing tribute to Bucks ...
  25. Where would you go to hire some waters?
