Watts wore 4 for Vic Metro so I think this announcement is a little tease as they know who we are taking next year. Hopefully they have his jumper with number at the draft selection meeting so they can hold it up like they do in soccer and basketball.

There is a chance that he will be there at 17 because of the depth of this draft, there is also a chance that Brisbane, Collingwood, North or St Kilda pick him up with there first rd pick.... If he is there at 17 we need to grab him as WCE will at 18

HE had the injuries so big chance he didn't bring the knife... It's very easy to get into a fight in the city and have a knife pulled on you. I think he is worth the risk.... a few hard midfielders would be great (1 in hte PSD) and may mean we can take a tall with 17 and 19 rather than two midfielders

I really think the club should use this as a marketing tool. get behind the club and break the curse... maybe not next year but in three years when we are playing finals

What on field leadership..... green, macdonald or Bruce don't inspire confidence.... You could see Mclean grabbing the boys in the huddle and telling them to play for the jumper and he will put his body on the line for them and he expects the same... He is one of the best trainers at the club and giving it to a statemen doesn't really demonstrate the club is heading in the right direction. I think Bruce and Green can be vices and assist but we should have one captain

If Bailey states he is out then his salary (if they pay any) gets put in this years TTP which means we breach it... The AFL are all over these things so they won't be saying anything until Oct 31... The supporters know whats happening imagine we breached the TTP because Bailey stated he is gone and we lose our 1st rd draft pick...... I'm sure you would be happy then

Each AFL club has to have four draft selections in the National Draft.... Geelong currently only have four selection and if they priority pick him (for their last pick) they need another selection ie. delist a player.... They are trying to get him on the rookie list but you would assume he will enter the draft.... Geelong may still pick him up but so can all the other clubs

I just can't see Freo doing the trade... Carlton will have to give something else, even it is a nuff nuff so they can save face otherwise Freo will look like dicks if they accept 24 right on the knocker and wasted the whole week on it

Ruckman are still important in the game and anyone that plays any level of football will tell you the same thing.... If you have a dominant ruck your midfield sets up differently you move at stoppages to advantage, whilst if you don't have a decent ruckman you are always reacting and trying to shark the ball

I'm jumping on Watt more and more but it looks like Watts is an athlete just as much as NitNak... he has topped alot of the testing but just doesn't have the same jump... only about 6cm less..... which is Fark all for a guy who can take contested marks

I want him at 17 as well.... if we leave him to 19 WC will take him at 18.... I hope we get swift with our pp.... I'm happy for it to be hit and miss as we have pick 19 there

How many assistants at Melbourne have come from the MFC... all have been from other clubs but we still haven't changed the culture etc.... especially since the board/CEO/football manager are all old melbourne we need to seek out an old melbourne person who can tell us what the club is doing wrong from a baord/football management point of view

There was an intesting article in the HUN the other day which had a little bit about Fagan and how walking into Hawthorn from Melbourne he was amazed at the difference and how hard MFC had it.... Not sure what info he would give but the board should be seeking him out to get a full report on the difference as he was at Melbourne for ten years and will be able to identify was we need to change

Dappa Dan Hawthorn could easily do a west coast if you consider the following IF you think it can't happen think about this One of their biggest stars has tested positive twice... The had a med file supress which stated 8-10 players at the club regularly do drugs together.... So although they are going great guns at the moment, it can all crumble pretty quickly

Everyone is carrying on about players payments and I just don't get it.... Footballers are on a sh^t load of dough and $250k a year isn't a big contract neither is paying Warnock $350k a year... The salary cap is 7.4mil divided by 38 listed players it is 195k per player.... Since you have 4-6 first year players 60K a year and two veteran on the list 250K would be a base contract. Although the cap is 7.4mil in 2008 collingwood spent 8.5mil on total payments so you can work it out the extra money that clubs spend

I'm with you Demons06 I hope we bottom out next year and get pick 1 and 2.... I would rather have another year of pain but experience what the hawks supportors did yesterday.... I know bottoming out doesn't lock in a premiership but I think it would be worth it especially with the GC17 comprising 2010. I'm in two minds regarding trading players but I think anyone of 25 with value should go if we can get another pick inside the top 20. People forgot on here that MElbourne were up and going leading into the 07 year but got dismantled with injuries. So we are now bottoming out but we could do anything in 09... if our players stay fit with no injuries we could hit the top 8 easily but then again we could not win a game.... It's a roll of the dice and hopefully the boys go alright but you won't see e complaining if we don';t

Why would we give up pick 19 and bell to get Warnock????? Pick 19 would be enough or Bell by himself
