Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 20
I know we are taking things one game at a time but given that 3 out of our last 4 games are to be played at the MCG (and hopefully a few more after that at the same venue), I think we need to use this game to reassert our influence on our home soil. We did that a bit against the Bullies at our last outing but now it's time to take control of that ground and make it a fortress against any other club that enters.

Injury List - Season 2018
What sort of credibility does the MFC have with reference to these injury lists? Melksham is reported to have strained the hammy during the second quarter of Saturday night's game so they clearly knew when they published this week's list that he was injured ... but didn't report it until today.

ROUND 19 - Non MFC games
Is it too much to expect a win to WCE and upsets in the other two games today?

Casey Demons v Footscray VFL - Round 15
If we could bring in Corey Wagner, he’d get a game this week, I reckon. Pity he’s not on our list.

Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 14
JKH is 173cm compared to Nev who stands at 180cm. The height difference might not sound much but at the highest level, it might be too much.

Round 16 Non - MFC Games
I’d like to see us emulate our run of 6 in a row - that should do the trick.

Casey Demons v Coburg - VFL Round 12
Casey had 69 inside 50s to 30 and won by 77 points. On Friday night Melbourne had 68 inside 50s to 39 and lost by 10 points. When Melbourne was down on its knees in the early part of this decade these figures by teams opposed to us would result in 100-point defeats. How is this possible?

Playing with no ACL??
Not really recommended for a highly priced player aged 22 with lots of years in front of him.

Round 12 Non-MFC
Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew says Lachie Weller trade a good move for Suns So Weller has played just one game this year for the Suns. What happened?

Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL - Round 10
An Adelaide contact of mine who's a Port Adelaide supporter is a big wrap for Petty who he thinks will end up as good if not better than Jacob Weitering of Carlton. He's not a fan of the Crows who he says doesn't do enough for players recruited from interstate and that's the main reason why they struggle to keep them in the state.

Injury List - Season 2018
Filipovic missed a game and then missed another week for the bye. That's 2 weeks.

Round 2 Non MFC games
Yes. I think it’s pathetic for people to take any joy out of injuries to sportspeople and that applies to Tom Scully. However, I don’t have a problem with GWS having to part with $1m for a player who might not play many games this year.

Young Casey Demon a Kiwi
He probably doesn't fit the criteria because he's now living here but what's involved in drafting an international rookie like the NZ kid we had over here a few years ago?

Clarence Oliver
What %age of game time was a Clarry on the ground for yesterday?

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Welcome to the wonderful world of the AFL. The final nail in the coffin will come if they go lightly on GWS for their role in the Whitfield affair.

The youngest most inexperienced side
Of course Melksham was already on the list.

Interesting with the ins and outs (including the ones to come), I don't think our list's average age is going to change all that much in the end.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Good point ... and the strange thing about this is that back in January when the CAS verdict was announced the AFL immediately announced (and therefore without a need for a meeting to be held a month later during which time all and sundry could deliberate on issues of fairness, the impact on other clubs, the competition and the game) the rules that would apply to Essendon to enable it to cover for their missing players and even the issue of how their absence would impact on the draft (as far away as November). The rules all gave the club that was responsible for the plight of the guilty players an advantage while the other innocent clubs that now also had guilty players on their books no rights in regard to replacing those players. This is yet another example of the embarrassing way in which the AFL competition is being run these days.
