  1. I know we are taking things one game at a time but given that 3 out of our last 4 games are to be played at the MCG (and hopefully a few more after that at the same venue), I think we need to use this game to reassert our influence on our home soil. We did that a bit against the Bullies at our last outing but now it's time to take control of that ground and make it a fortress against any other club that enters.
  2. In Hannan Out Melksham
  3. What sort of credibility does the MFC have with reference to these injury lists? Melksham is reported to have strained the hammy during the second quarter of Saturday night's game so they clearly knew when they published this week's list that he was injured ... but didn't report it until today.
  4. Is it too much to expect a win to WCE and upsets in the other two games today?
  5. If we could bring in Corey Wagner, he’d get a game this week, I reckon. Pity he’s not on our list.
  6. JKH is 173cm compared to Nev who stands at 180cm. The height difference might not sound much but at the highest level, it might be too much.
  7. I’d like to see us emulate our run of 6 in a row - that should do the trick.
  8. 6. Clayton Oliver 5. Max Gawn 4. Christian Petracca 3. Angus Brayshaw 2. Jesse Hogan 1. Bayley Fritsch
  9. Casey had 69 inside 50s to 30 and won by 77 points. On Friday night Melbourne had 68 inside 50s to 39 and lost by 10 points. When Melbourne was down on its knees in the early part of this decade these figures by teams opposed to us would result in 100-point defeats. How is this possible?
  10. Not really recommended for a highly priced player aged 22 with lots of years in front of him.
  11. Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew says Lachie Weller trade a good move for Suns So Weller has played just one game this year for the Suns. What happened?
  12. Mentioned above that Melksham is having a fitness test on his ankle.
  13. An Adelaide contact of mine who's a Port Adelaide supporter is a big wrap for Petty who he thinks will end up as good if not better than Jacob Weitering of Carlton. He's not a fan of the Crows who he says doesn't do enough for players recruited from interstate and that's the main reason why they struggle to keep them in the state.
  14. What a beautiful sight!!!
  15. 6. Jake Lever 5. Nathan Jones 4. Jake Melksham 3. Tom McDonald 2. Angus Brayshaw 1. Max Gawn
  16. ... and we sent Carlton to stone motherless last.
  17. Filipovic missed a game and then missed another week for the bye. That's 2 weeks.
  18. Yes. I think it’s pathetic for people to take any joy out of injuries to sportspeople and that applies to Tom Scully. However, I don’t have a problem with GWS having to part with $1m for a player who might not play many games this year.
  19. Mykelti Lefau seems to be going well - any chance that he could be rookied as a Category B as an international player (born in NZ, I believe).
  20. Hush your mouth. How could you possibly wish injury on any footballer. It’s not sportsmanship!
  21. I thought that the mean spirited streak that used to run through Port fans was dying out now that the area has become gentrified. Don’t worry about it; the Collingwood fans you’re going to come up against will be much worse?
  22. In the third quarter we kicked long bombs into a crowded forward line and, with Hogan playing downfield and TMac not there, the result was inevitable. Plus the fact that the Saints were very good on the rebound when they got the ball out and the result was 6 goals to 1.
  23. That’s about 10k per possession for Mayne, isn’t it? Not bad if you can get it.
  24. Jeff Kennett runs the Hawks who play in Northern Tassie. Is it a coincidence or is he reviving his economic rationalist ideology on the Hawks’ fiefdom up there?
  25. He probably doesn't fit the criteria because he's now living here but what's involved in drafting an international rookie like the NZ kid we had over here a few years ago?
