  1. Think we'd be in serious cap trouble too if we got him! He's a 800-900k minimum player. Every club in the league would want Whitfield. Absolute gun.
  2. Resilience is a wonderful thing. This team has plenty of it.
  3. 6. TMac 5. Viney 4. Petracca 3. jetta 2. Hibberd 1. Petracca Apologies to Gawn, Oliver, Spargo, et al.
  4. Would rather be in our position than theirs. Run them into the ground this quarter.
  5. Love Demonland! Poo is good.
  6. Salem made a couple of errors but Roos gave him best-on-ground for Fox so OK by me!
  7. We bullied the pussycats. Bit more composure and it's a 12 goal win.
  8. Reckon he will take two or three years of development to get him up to scratch. Would rather we develop our own and draft kids like Lockhart.
  9. We need guys that can run hard all day and dispose of the pill. The best in the league at the moment are Gaff and Whitfield. Given Gaff is a potential free agent we need to go hard. Hawthorn outsmarted us this year by not getting first possession and sitting back waiting for the likes of ANB, Bugg and Tyson to turn it over. We need quality ball carriers!
  10. The falling over and the slowness are a worry. Our oldest Vince and Lewis were exposed. Our youngest in Spargo was also exposed.
  11. Always been a tank, but he's now a Landkreuzer P1500 Monster! Scary.
  12. Understand the need to have him. We lack silk on the outside. However, I prefer a younger target that can give you eight or nine years service. Maybe Witherden from Brissy, or Fiorini from the Suns? Then again these guys are not free agents.
  13. Not sure you could call him a moron. Save that for the likes of Tony Shaw, Robbo, BT, Derwayne, Bill Brownless, etc. What I've never liked about him is he calls football like a horse race. Also uses 'in terms of' in far too many sentences. That means you've mangled your sentence structure.
  14. Sunday's game was the start only for Brayshaw. I didn't like his pre season games and at the time wondered if he would live up to early expectations. Unlike Oliver and Viney, Brayshaw, Salem and Petracca have only shown fleeting glimpses of their talent.
  15. Bizarre. Quarter time last Sunday McCartney was doing most of the talking. Don't like this one little bit.
  16. Well here goes: Billy Strech trains all off sesson with Maynard, develops a beast mode and surprises every one from round one. Maynard becomes a first dibs midfielder but becomes Demonland's whipping boy cos he can't kick. Pat McKenna debuts and becomes the surprise linkman the team badly needs. Salem becomes the talk of the town by getting himself fit and playing permanently in the midfield. Selected in 50 percent of SuperCoach teams. Clarrie gets tagged every week and develops a penchant for belting blokes. Disqualified from Brownlow. Fritsch debuts round one and makes an impact but is suspended by the club midseason for being out with the Yarra Valley lads and missing training. Also nominated for mark of the year. Lewis has a slow start and drops himself round eight citing sore knee. Viney struggles for fitness and only plays seven games. Lever becomes a fine acquisition and leads best backline in comp. Hunt becomes more consistent and wins four appearances on the Footy Show. Dees finish third and reach prelim. Lose to GWS by two points.
  17. Check out WJ's 2017 draft prospects thread from last year. Few concerns that GWS would get a top-five pick because he was in their academy at the time. Our own Chelly had him going at one!
  18. Has speed, agility and class on both sides of the body. Is also a leader, but perhaps most important is a competitive little animal too. Cracks in and his defensive pressure is first class. Could have easily been a top-five pick if not injured this year. Embrace this pick Demonlanders. We're lucky to have him.
  19. Love this! Been on about Spargo for 18 months. Boy can play!
  20. Agree. Most interesting is where the real little blokes go. Mosquito fleet might be in vogue. Jack Higgins, Spargo, Fogarty, Miers, Daniels and Moore. Think Melbourne will go needs first and the pick the best available of these guys.
  21. First year out of the AFL you go where the money is. SANFL and WAFL generally pay more than VFL.
  22. I fear what another Ling from Geelong would do to the dressing room. Obvious, cliche-ridden ramblings. Constant regurgitation of meaningless stats, mangling of the English language... For our boys mental health lets not draft Ling!
  23. Getting in 21 year old AA squad members aint easy. But we've pulled it off. Kudos to all concerned. Personally, I like tough kents coming into the team with leadership qualities. Out with soft xocks that don't go when they should. In with the natural born winners that get going from the start.
  24. Anyone see a trend in Goodwin's modus operandi? Guys who can handle themselves physically. Melksham, Johnstone and Lever are very handy boxers. Piggy Hibberd doesn't back away from anyone... Out with the soft c***s and in with the tough bar stewards!
  25. Not having been drafted at 18 probably means he can build himself up in an AFL environment. What is great is his marking and kicking ability. He made a few AFL-listed guys look second rate this season. He won't shirk it either despite the skinny build. I'd draft with a third or fourth rounder.
