I see Logan Morris as a similar player to Nate Caddy that ultimately turn into a Brody Mihochek type which I think is the model forward of the modern game. The Sam Darcy’s of this world are a unicorn.

What happened to North since they played us? They are incredibly poor. No wonder Trac cracked it.
  3. JVR has been extremely poor all season and playing a poor Tigers team last week was hardly the test for him. Lets see how he goes against Sandy on the weekend and if he can back it up (albeit a scratch match) then i think he is look in for the Hawks game. I'd also like to see a Turner / Petty combination up forward. Milkshake will likely play a negating role on McGovern. Big test for TMac and May playing on Waterman and Allen. Allen is miserably out of form - i think May takes him. TMac to Waterman is a good match-up i think.
  4. im not sure the teams are final. The AFL site still has "Full teams to be announced". Some clubs with TBC etc.

i wonder if Jake Nial's piece today on the failed Oliver trade and then the news that Oliver will not play have any connection. Jake is not the first person that comes to mind when you talk about poor journo's but i find it really tough to believe this is a sheer coincidence. I cant see the MFC pulling Oliver from the team as a result of this story. Which begs the question that TheAge chose to run with this story knowing he was going to be 'managed' this week. You wont be able to prove it, but i genuinely wonder whether there are any credible, ethical and moral journo's actually left in the AFL industry.
  6. The one missing from your list is pressure without the ball. Done it well last 2 weeks. The other watch from me is no Oliver impact. Does he have a positive, negative or neutral impact in the midfield.
  7. I’d say the club has given this info to him voluntarily - not exactly earth shattering 2 hours before it’s official. Also allows the the club to control the narrative.
  8. JUH says thanks Oliver. Watch the vultures feed on this.
  9. What a stupid article. What is the point of further examining a trade that didn’t eventuate. Maybe it’s another Geelong attempt to create some disharmony within the club and pick up a bargain in Oliver.

This was my initial reaction and still somewhat aligned to it. However, this is their workplace and i think everybody has a right to chose their workplace. The media have been far too aggressive in the past few years especially post covid and you have the personalities such as Morris, McClure, Corners, Barret who are disrespectful and at times stoop to gutter trash levels of reporting. As a society we have to recognize the impact that social media is having of people, footy players are no different. The AFL should absolutely be looking at the behavior of some of these journos and their employers and asking for a please explain.
  11. Kentfield looks like he is about to rip Langdon to pieces in Pic #34.
  12. Amazing design. Really impressive.

I'd be super annoyed if Butters makes his way to any of the other Vic clubs especially the Pies. We should just go after Hinkley as an assistant now for next year, then snap up Butters as a FA end of next year.
  14. i wonder if he got dropped?
  15. Don’t they do rising star interviews on 360 anymore? was waiting for it tonight.

The media and AFL have seriously regressed not just with Dillon but also under the [censored] that was Gillion. The pursuit of profit and commercial prosperity is starting to compromise the quality of the product that is being sold. I can’t see Dillon lasting too long and I hope they bring in someone that is purely profit focused.

We would need to turn the club around to make it appealing to him.

Fritta is a cherry on top player. Right now we need work horses that are willing to put in effort. If he isn’t capable or willing then we have to make the hard call and let him go. The game has evolved and players that don’t have a defensive output will get exposed even in the forward line. I do hope he turns it around, because I get great pleasure watching him play. Would Hawks be willing to give us a first rounder for him? Gunston and Breust are in their mid 30s and he’d slot in nicely there.

But I think that works in Chins favour. He lets him go and doesn’t drive him into the ground. Whereas Curtis technique didn’t allow for him to take any mitigating action so I’d argue he is more liable.
  20. There is intense media focus on the Eagles. Just in time for our game… There was ann internal, player lead intervention with coaches and footy staff yesterday about the mounting displeasure of their performance this year. I’d expect a massive response from the eagles, but as is with these things, if we can withstand the intial pressure and put ourselves in front, I can see them falling apart pretty quickly. If, however we give them a sniff, then we are in big trouble.

I remember this - was a great tackle. He let him go and still got some. Again it’s a footy act that is judged on the outcome. Annoying how everyone is coming to Curtis’s defence.

If we were to change to Port Melb as prospective site, the delay would be more than 12 months.

Does anyone have the deets/footage on Chandlers suspension re the run down tackle from a few years back. It seems the footy industry has collectively forgotten about this all together.
  24. Today Looks pretty lean to me. If you look close enough I reckon his heads looks too small for his body.

Did Jake lever skip past the 4-6 undetected?
