  1. That’s game. Dogs in all sorts
  2. Umpiring is more likely to be [censored] than not every game now.
  3. Why the AFL didn’t mandate that they carve out 5 rows from that centre wing area on both side beggars belief. There is no load bearing structure there and at most will reduce the stadium capacity by a max 500 ppl.
  4. The person who approved that is likely the same person who is overseeing the salary cap audit
  5. How they let afl footy on this oval still amazes me. It is such an obvious advantage for the them.
  6. High tackle every day of the week
  7. Good get. Vesatile HBer and replacement for Salem.
  8. Smith gotta get weeks for that tackle.
  9. What’s the word on Viney? It’s his 3rd week now.
  10. Very astute point. I do however appreciate the detail that has into the stitching of that cricket ball.
  11. What about Hoyne or even employing Hoarse or Simpson? There is absolutely a plethora of footy experts with a level of media competence that would be able to contribute to a 30 minute weekly segment. Id continue to argue that broadcaster executives just don't see the commercial appeal of it. Perhaps there is an opportunity to have some type of investment into a podcast style weekly show that can be bankrolled (albeit at a much lower cost) and produced for social media... Does anybody have anybody have contacts at Fox or Ch7/9? 😀
  12. You see this is where im a bit surprised at all the discussion regarding the more in-depth analysis. Firstly, i want to point out that im for it, i love the analytical, statistical nature of footy. However the most recent example is where Ch 7 decided to invest in the Korn and his side-kicks. Why? because its all about creating headlines and clicks. The strategy is clearly to get one of the most controversial AFL pundits of the modern era to generate utter garbage and then take a back seat to then see how the footy world erupts into a frenzy of hot-blooded debate. And they are not alone, Ch 9 and the class of clowns led by McClure and Bozo Barret. The broadcasters are just not interested into the meaningful stuff, because large parts of the consumer base isnt either. They would prefer the controversy, Jerry Springer style rage-bates that come up from time to time. And if they don't, well we know how they can bend the truth. Unfortunately this in-depth analysis will continue to exist in the outskirts of the AFL reporting and journalism machine.
  13. Thanks Andy, you have given me a few extra ideas for the never ending cycle of password updates for my corporate laptop.
  14. One of few podcasts I’d look forward to every week. In retrospect it takes a certain personality to make a successful podcast and having two larrikins in Gus n Gawn was a treat. If Chin was to take over, he’d need a side kick. Not sure who though
  15. I did see that photo too and there was a notable player (Trac) not present. There were others too so im not reading much into it, however the reason i raise the point, is that the media havent raised it either (yet). Just wanted to put a watch on whether they'll hang onto this to use for another time.
  16. Agreed - the extra 2.5 m of space between the arcs and centre square at the MCG in comparison is a bit of an optical illusion.
  17. Maybe, but TV executives would be all over it if there was a market for it - if there is anything AFL do well, its the monetisation of their product. But im not complaining i appreciate the analysis and why i listen to Hoyne on Tuesday afternoons religiously.
  18. It is great analysis - particularly for those that are interested in this stuff but have an untrained eye. Having someone step through each play to explain whats being coached and seeing it unfoled is terrific. I don't however think the average punter is into this level of analysis and hence why the mainstream shows are unlikely to delve into it. But personally loved it.
  19. So both MCInerny and Amarty are suspended. Not massive outs but leaves them a little short in their backline and forward line with Aaron Francis also concussed.
  20. This is a 100% paid counter-attack (in the journalism sense) from Freo.
  21. Every player has a hot patch and i vaguely remember those games (older age), but was his form consistently of a high standard. The narrative around here was that up until recently, Melk was one of Goody's boys and that he was always able to bypass selection integrity. I have never really seen him like that. He can lack some defensive accountability in the sense of how some High HF's play, but to me that is not his role. He has to play on the defensive interceptor / rebounder and exploit him the other way. Almost every team has one. He'd play on Lever if he was an opponent.
  22. Also felt like it was a I can’t remember Melky pre 2021 for some reason. Was it suddenly he looks decent? He has always been in and out of the team. But finding a target in f50 comes naturally to him. Playing him HF for connection just seems so obvious.
  23. We don’t have a first this year
  24. What happened to the Swans players?
  25. In the spirit of this thread what you’re talking about is for a first year med student performing successful triple bypass surgery without the aid of medical imaging equipment. It’s possible… but let’s not get carried away. We have much work to do. Our forward line looked much more functional and midfield was working well. But still making costly turnovers that were preyed upon by the Lions.
