But after training Kingy and Roo walked back to AAMI together and Kingy had his hand on Roo’s back and was talking to him in a gentle tone.

Roo was awesome in the match sim. Many of them were. Latrelle is a force to be reckoned with, shrugs off tacklers like they’re Auskick kids and I’m talking three attempts in quick succession to bring him down. We saw him do some amazing things today.

You know what they say… don’t annoy the person who’s about to make you something to eat. It never ends well.

We’re actually not. According to the medical staff we’re not. Only Bowser and Vines are considered “long-term.” The worry and stress we experience on here is largely unwarranted. It’s a whole different outlook from the staff.

Bowser is having surgery on his foot this afternoon. The injury is more serious than they thought. He has a torn ligament. He was running the week before last but they didn’t know then what they now know. If he wasn’t having the surgery, he would still be able to run at some point in the future but he wouldn’t be able to change direction at speed. Speaking of an injury worse than what was first thought, Vines is another player who is taking longer to recover. He’s had the foot issue for six weeks and he should really be right by now. I’ve been promised an update next week. Tommy Matthews is running!!!!! It’s so good to see. He’s been champing at the bit to start running and the joy shows on his face.

Harves is rehabbing. At Friday’s training he copped a knee to his temple and he’s now on concussion protocols.

While it’s not listed on the website I have it on good authority training is at Gosch’s this morning. If it’s not I’ll have company since Trent our new and awesome videographer is gonna be there or at least that’s what he told me last night at the W B&F*. Otherwise I’ll go and watch Collingwood train for S&Gs 😁 Edit: all good, the boys are out there already. I’ve arrived later than usual coz hungover 😭

Both bad trades for us but that’s where the similarity ends. Birch wishes she had the integrity of Edo along with many, many other qualities - too many to mention.

I walked to the venue with Edo and Nikita (her partner). Edo didn’t say much but Nikita didn’t hide her delight in “finally going back home.” Nikita said they both hate Melbourne (the city) so leaving it was always gonna happen.

So much fun! 🥳🥳🥳 Kate’s speech about Mick had almost everyone in tears, including Mick. His wife Rachael was holding his hand all the way through. Geez Mick is a special human being and the bond he has with the girls is beautiful. Gabby’s speech was super sweet and really heartfelt. Edo didn't make a speech but there was a lot of love in the room for her. Our Pres and CEO were there as well as our former Pres (Greeny) and his predecessor Kate who is still an avid W fan. It was so good to see her. I’d forgotten how enthusiastic her hugs are… I may or may not have a couple of cracked vertebrae. 😅 The girls all looked INCREDIBLE. Some of them were unrecognisable, literally unrecognisable. They were like Hey Ghosty! Big hugs, and me just staring blankly at them. And that was before any alcohol had been consumed. The whole vibe was starkly different to last year’s B&F. There was a genuine feeling of hope and optimism and a pervading sense of BRING ON SEASON 11 👊🏼

I’m currently walking down Flinders Lane with Edo and Nikita on the way to the B&F and I’m even sadder now 😕

It’s disgraceful. And on a selfish level I wish they had’ve waited until tomorrow to announce it. Our DA WhatsApp has been buzzing all day about what we’re wearing and hair n makeup etc. for tonight’s B&F. Now it’s done a complete 180 and it’s all about heartbreak at seeing Edo go. 💔😕

I suppose it depends on what Riley Sanders’ future plans are 🙄

It’s now official that Eden Zanker, one of our top five players, gun forward, goal-kicker, big-bodied pack-crasher is off to Freo and it immediately gets posted in a Farewell to Judd McVee thread? Because Lily is part of the deal and she’s dating an ex-MFC player? Yeah nah Edo deserves way more respect than that.
