  1. I just ran into CJ. He’s looking at three weeks on the sidelines. No strapping or bandaging on his calf because “The news, man. They can be anywhere, don’t want them knowing any more than they already do.” Naturally he’s bummed about the injury but he says it’s not as bad as what some others are dealing with.
  2. I spoke to Cub (Taylor Whitford). Paddy has a broken thumb. Won’t be available this week of course but “won’t be out of the game for too long.” Cub also said they’re really pleased with his performance on Sunday
  3. The most important news of the day: Jai ain’t getting a haircut anytime soon.
  4. Vines is out here now. In great spirits. He’s working with a physio and is doing more than in previous sessions. Bowser said they’re expecting him to be right by round 7/8 but he’ll need some time at the VFL since he’s had no preseason. He said at the end of every single training session, he feels fitter and stronger than before.
  5. Bowser and Disco, Hendo and Koz just kick-to-kick while the others play a kinda halfbaked match sim of sorts, the white bibs being the only sign of a match sim. Steeley and Petts also kick-to-kick but I think their reason is coz it’s fun. 😁 Speaking of fun, the very first thing Koz said about Sunday was “That was fun!”
  6. He’s not here. If I get the chance I’ll try to get an update from staff. Thing is, there are not many staff members here. Taylor Whitford is the only one out there.
  7. Some of the boys have left already. They have a bike session lined up. The remaining boys will be leaving soon too. They have a running session.
  8. Please don’t anyone panic if you see Kozzie has his right leg bandaged. It’s sore but it’s only a corky. He’s gonna be fine for the weekend. According to AMW Riv likely won’t be playing this weekend. He has a knee issue and they’re looking to make sure he’s 100% before playing him again. Disco is a Test for this week. He himself feels right to go but it will all hinge on how he goes at main training.
  9. Snartarse Ricky Lever. I said THANK YOU! He said What for? I said That bloody incredible win! He said Oh that. Yeah nah that was nothing. I almost need a defibrillator at the match and he says it was nothing 😂
  10. The boys are coming over in dribs and drabs. First two dribs (drabs?) were Tmac and Spaz. Biggest smiles ever! Spaz walking taller for sure. Tmac said he’s relieved the 250 is done and dusted, now on to this weekend
  11. This part ⬆️
  12. Funny how you single me out in your reply. And by funny I mean not [censored] funny at all.
  13. Yeah I guess I don’t realise how annoying that can be since I wouldn’t touch the gameday thread with a barge pole (once the game begins). But annoyance is nothing compared to personal attacks and cruel insults. PF is amusing albeit with a touch of irritation.
  14. Jai’s jumper all the way!
  15. I’m sure there’s a cream for these.
  16. Those overnight nappy pants for toddlers are the way to go, even for a 5yo. Get the Aldi home brand type, cheaper but just as good. If the nappy pants are dry in the morning they can be reused that night.
  17. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Picket Fence is HARMLESS. I don’t know why anyone would bother to take him to task about anything he says. He’s not hurting anyone.
  18. Two little things about Jack: At our “Family Day” at Gosch’s last year (13th December) Kingy told us it was Jack’s birthday. I got one of our beautiful handmade cupcakes, put it in a cute little cake-box and gave it to Jack. Maybe it’s because he was new to the club but he was so surprised and genuinely moved by the gesture. A week later at training he made a point of thanking me again and saying it made him feel welcome to our club. So, there was a snippet of an interview that someone posted on here a couple of weeks ago where Jack openly and honestly shared his feelings about being let go by the Saints. It was obvious he still had some sadness at having to leave. Couple of days later, at Gosch’s, I asked him if he’s happy at our club. He knew I was referring to those comments. He went on to say that yes he is happy with us and everyone has been wonderful and he’s still adapting but bottom line, he’s happy. I went to park myself at my usual spot and he went to put on his boots. But before running out on the park, he came over and said, “I really am happy here… I’m actually very happy!” Just little things except huge things at the same time.
  19. That’s a possibility. Max and Tmac chose past players who’d played with them both. If a player wasn’t there it’s because they couldn’t make it or chose not to attend. But the club also had a say in who’d be invited.
  20. Tracc wasn’t there. Reason unknown. But he is injured so maybe that’s the reason for his absence.
  21. This made me laugh. If only it was confined to slightly negative comments, maybe then it would be readable. The gameday thread is a thread of two halves for me, the first half ending just before the ball-up.
  22. May your neighbours continue to hate you every week deep into September 😀
  23. I didn’t see him but a few people told me they saw him while out on banner raising. I forwent banner raising just for this match for several reasons but had I been out there I could confirm. Edit: I just double checked and yes Clarrie was there. Clearly kept a low profile. I don’t know where these rumours came from (that he missed it because of partying all night) but that’s all they are… rumours
