  1. The thought of Birch getting a fourth premiership 🤮🤮🤮🤮
  2. No banner for the Hawks tonight, unless this qualifies as a banner… Which it doesn’t. Do better, Hawthorn CS 🤨
  3. Yeah I didn’t expect that. I thought she was good last week.
  4. Well, what a p!zz poor event that was. It was actually embarrassing. You know the attendance is dismal when there’s more staff and players than spectators. There was lucky to be 40 people there and some of those were players’ parents. The “activations” weren’t even “activated” and the poor face-painting lady painted a grand total of three faces having taken the better part of an hour to set up. I felt so bad for her that I got an MFC fake tattoo on my arm. They should’ve just left it as a regular captain’s run. The absence of spectators amidst the Demon Shop, Harvest Snaps, face-painting etc. vans stood out like a sore thumb.
  5. The more I think about it the more I believe you’re right. I do believe he didn’t want to be recognised (for whatever reason), he kept his head down a lot. I doubt that anyone there apart from the coaching staff knew it was him.
  6. I generally look for a distinguishing characteristic and commit it to memory. Once I’ve met someone a few times it’s easier to recognise them. I’ve now met you enough times to know it’s you 🤗
  7. I understand what you’re saying about Casey. But I’m talking about this weekend’s match, in isolation. As I think I’ve made clear, I’m appealing to anyone and everyone regardless of how they feel about W footy to consider coming to this Sunday’s QF which is at Ikon.
  8. WILL! You’ll love it, Werridee. I guarantee your first W game won’t be your last 👍🏽
  9. You’re not nuts, JVAM. I was sitting not 10 feet away from this guy and while I didn’t think he looked familiar* I did wonder why he was standing with Riv (Jared), Jonesy. Chappy and Selwyn. They all seemed to know him well, lots of banter and laughter amongst them. He also joined the huddle when Georgia C was giving the pep talk and since he isn’t admin nor a player, I wondered why he was out there. My son actually came along with me to this session (that’s a Dr Phil episode in and of itself right there) and noticed I was looking at this guy quizzically. I said I was just curious as to who he is and my son said that’s interesting because it looks as though he’s trying to avoid you. 😅 *I have prosopagnosia (face blindness) so my observations are worth sweet fa 🙃
  10. Just wanna make sure nobody thinks I’m trying to guilt folks into attending… that’s Plan B. Begging is Plan A and that’s where we’re at… for now. Plan C, should the need arise, is bribery: if Demonlanders turn up on Sunday I promise to be less annoying, as difficult as that would be. Don’t make me put Plan D into effect. Issuing death-threats is never a pleasant option 😁 Just turn up, guys. You won’t regret it. You’ll see a dedicated, proud team of players who play for each other, and for the jumper. There’s not a diva amongst them. See y’all there!!!
  11. I’m starting a new thread as opposed to posting the following on an existing AFLW thread, ie. preaching to the converted. Our W team is deserving of more support than they’re currently getting, in particular with regards to attendance. We’re second on the ladder and haven’t dropped below third all season. This despite injuries to some of our best players. The players work so hard, always. Training is never for S&Gs, every single session is hella serious and intense. And the majority of them work day jobs out of necessity. They ain’t running around on a million dollars pa. Not everyone is into women’s footy… I get it. But we’re all into the Dees, right? The girls are Dees; they play for our club in our jumpers and they’re super proud doing so. Even if you’re not interested in the W at all, maybe you could still see fit to attend Sunday’s QF. It’s at Ikon which is inner city. Tickets are $15 for adults and free for under-18s. Please, please, PLEASE try to make it to our match on Sunday. You wanna feel appreciated? Well, you will be, wholeheartedly. End of grovel.
  12. Maevo’s right to play!!!!
  13. The decision to have this Family Day type of training session on a Friday baffles me. For starters, it’s a work/school day. The W don’t attract nearly as many to training as the M. There’s a chance of rain. We’re not even putting on a sausage sizzle since we’d expect to run it at a loss and because we simply don’t have enough folks who can take time off work. Personally I’ve managed to turn a Friday morning shift into a Saturday morning one just to be there. Also, it’s not a captain’s run in that it’s not gameday eve as it should be. Again the Club makes a decision that makes no sense.
  14. I can definitely confirm you are at least 191cm. And for everyone who hasn’t met our mate “Timothy,” he looks NOTHING like you’d expect.
  15. The players page can’t be changed until the draft is done and dusted. This is an AFL decree.
  16. So, Tex Walker has shrunk?
  17. Expect Max Gawn, get Charlie Spargo 🤭
  18. Again, samesies
  19. Saw the thread title and for a second thought I was on Tinder 😝 JK. I can’t see how he’d be any benefit to us. It’s not like he’s good enough to make reversing the disdain for him worth the effort. We’ve brought in two established players of very good standing, why would we veer off course now.
  20. I’m pretty sure she did it today during training.
  21. Kingy commented on how exciting it is that the girls are going so well. I hope they come to the match on Sunday.
  22. I had the immense pleasure of meeting our new coach this morning at Gosch’s during the W training session. Chunk, Chappy, Selwyn and Richo were also there. Richo said I should come over to meet Kingy, which I did. Kingy said they were at AAMI and decided to wander over to support the girls. He said today is the first of three days of strategy meetings. He said things are going well (re the meetings) and everyone’s on the same page with the same goals. He’s a very nice person.
  23. something’s not quite right with the world today… the girls are training, but… it’s NOT RAINING!!! Liv is rehabbing. She said she’s looking forward to the day she can start running, in about a month. Goldie is disappointed with not being available but is very hopeful (and pumped) for next week.
