  1. Goodwin has a horrible record at our home ground pretty sure it's below 50% Conversely he's had a much better record on the road than any other coach in my lifetime, but that record isn't going to look as flattering by years end.
  2. It was completely made up by Kane Cornes.
  3. Would seriously look at Leppitsch
  4. Absolutely no synergy in the team at the moment. Players either haven't bought into the new gameplan, don't understand it or simply cant execute it.
  5. Do you think that we're playing to the level we're capable of? Personally I feel the players look completely lost right now and have very little belief in what they're doing. So much [censored] has happened over the past few years on and off the field. I really just think the club needs a fresh start and some clear air.
  6. Pressure to perform will always be there. It's part of the job.
  7. I seriously can't work out what we're trying to do with our forwardline. They all seem to hover around in their starting positions rather than creating any actual space or movement. We have shown a desire to take the corridor more but it's all in vain as we get to our front half the half forwards are all flat-footed and too close to the midfielders and so we just boot it to the same spot that's easy to defend. You watch other sides and they'll have some of their forward push up closer to the contest, a couple sit deep and then hold a shape that will allow them to lead into space or at least compete in a one on one. Our forwards just seem to hold their position then when the ball comes in they all try and jump for the same ball and run into each other as a result. It shouldn't be as hard as we make it look.
  8. Favourite quote of the night was "Even when you're losing you're winning."
  9. So basically Open Mike
  10. It makes me wonder if potential CEOs don't want to be left carrying the can for Caufield not getting up.
  11. Twitter really died when they introduced editing posts.
  12. The fact that we can only win if we dominate clearances and contested ball and all our best players are on fire is absolutely a coaching issue. It shows that we're winning off star factor rather than structure.
  13. The calls to drop Fritsch amuse me. Like it's going to make any difference if we're kicking high up-and-unders to the top of Fullarton's head instead of Fritsch. Fritsch is a player that thrives on being isolated deep and sharking the ball off a spoil in space. Our appalling forward structure and entries absolutely kill him.
  14. This is pretty much the reaction I've seen from the majority of people in the media? Goodwin was well intentioned but made an error putting the spotlight on Gawn's personal issues.
  15. Our membership steadily increased over the 2010s when we were horrible. I think 2013 was the only year it went backwards. Personally think that the style of football we play is just not something that gets people on board unless we're winning. Club needs to offer supporters hope and excitement again.
  16. Maybe it's not the line coaches who are the issue when we have all the exact same issues that we did in years gone by with different coaches.
  17. The Viney contract really was completely unnecessary, he still had another year to go.
  18. That's ruck craft big boy.
  19. I'm sure his intentions were to protect Gawn from scrutiny but It's really dumb to even raise it. Just sounds like he's turning a very personal issue into an excuse. It's also disrespectful to North and Xerri.
  20. Imagine the poor media team having to send the email letting him know his video is due.
  21. There is no way Goodwin isn't astutely aware of the media spotlight. Unfortunately he really is just a terrible public speaker and always has been. Whenever the cameras are on him you can see how much he struggles with it. He either says nothing of value and just repeats a bunch of cliches or he says something completely innappropriate. You watch other coaches front the media and you can see it comes a lot more naturally to them and they just seem way more at ease. Even when guys like Chris Scott puts his foot in his mouth he only ever makes himself look like a fool. It's really inexcusable for Goodwin to put the spotlight on his captain like that.
  22. Goodwin bringing up Gawn's personal issues as an excuse for his performance was pretty ordinary. Maybe he thought it would protect Max from criticism this week but now there's a big spotlight on something private that wouldn't have been there had Goodwin said nothing.
  23. Slow precision kicking is one of the most difficult ways to move the ball. You just give the opposition time to set up their zones and every kick is an opportunity for a turnover which is why very few teams do it. There's so many ways we could have fixed our ball movement but really, transition footy and speed on the ball is in vogue for a reason.
