What is missing to win a flag?
Yep. Luck aside, it's all between the ears now. We have the cattle. Look at Richmond... I still cant bring myself to consider their players of the last few seasons as actually being any good. Outside of the "Big 4" the core group has been the same bunch of players that many would have considered fairly ordinary pre-2017. Now look at them. They have belief, a good system, ridiculous luck with injuries (and the MRP) and they are flying. That can be us.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
We knew all of this yesterday, and in the days before that. The game was as much a waste of time then as it is now, so not sure why the big shift here to not play other than the as yet unconfirmed report that we moved hotels and some players were sick. Everyone else has got to see their team play. I want my turn. It'll be the last time for a while

Noises I did not realise existed until tonight
If you've ever used the now non-existent AFL Sports Ears, you'd have had the pleasure of hearing many interesting things through the mic. My personal favourite was Razor Ray hoicking (sp?) up and spitting out phlegm almost every time he was about to do a centre bounce. ~ RIGHT INTO MY EAR ~ ????

16 minutes
I'm a little bit behind with the news so this may have been said already... They said they are reducing quarters from 20 mins to 16 mins, so that players still have gas in the tank should we end up playing extra midweek games. Which makes sense. But... did I not hear a couple of days ago that the AFL was also pushing for players to take a 20% pay cut this season, which obviously the players/ALFPA weren't too thrilled about? If so, surely it's no coincidence that 20% is exactly what they've reduced game time by? Player welfare is the narrative, but forcing the hand of the players/ALFPA to cough up some cash is maybe the hidden agenda? /speculation

May & Lever Ready to Repay Investment
I'm sure it's already been said elsewhere, but how good was it seeing him run right through Wingard

POSTGAME: MS02 vs Hawthorn
Tomlinson & Langdon also both played almost 100% game time. That'll help everyone

PREGAME: PM02 vs Kangaroos
I work in Docklands, so will finish up at lunchtime, walk to Arden street for the scratch match, then head back to Marvel for our AFLW game vs the Filth and State of Origin after that. Big day!

POSTGAME: MS01 vs Adelaide
I thought Lockhart, Sparrow and leader in the making Lever were all pretty good today.

Annual General Meeting
I have it on my calendar so I guess at some point I heard about it. Haven't gone this year. The members forum late last year covered everything I used to go along to AGM to hear.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Those that are against this in any way are most likely the same people who would be gnashing their teeth and ripping into the club for missing the opportunity had the likes of Hawthorn or Geelong got him instead.

What to do with what is now Pick 32?
At least they didn't announce the top 10 in reverse order this time.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
My MFCSS instinct told me they weren't happy tears, shes upset he'll be on other side of country and will be in his ears for 3 years to come home... ? Wrapt to have him though. Exactly what we need zipping around up forward, capitalising on all the entries we never seem to make the most of.

The Splitting of Pick 8
I don't get the some of the angst. We still have two selections in the top 10 I'd imagine who we want at 8 will.probably still be there at 10 We've upgraded our third selection from 97 > 28 ?
-
The Splitting of Pick 8
Surely a bit less of a lottery than having 97 as our third selection?
-
The Splitting of Pick 8
Because 22 was previously ours and if I'm of the correct understanding we can't receive back a pick that's already been traded out

Welcome to the Melbourne Football Club David Regan
I didn't catch the name when mentioned at the forum, but Burgess rates highly and said "anything <name> doesn't know about sport science isn't worth knowing". Assume it was this fella?

In response to a question re the role for Jones next season, Goodwin said they want to play him high forward Apologies if already mentioned, but something else I liked hearing from Burgess is that he doesnt want players running laps at training. He wants them ball in hand, getting into the drills, skill work.. etc

They said they had several people present for the role and Stafford was far and away the best.
