Equally I think people tend to overrate players from other teams, just because they are someone from another team with good stats or good highlights. Ask the average Joe from Collingwood what they think of one trick pony Howe now. My earlier anti Gaff comments were based on what I have read many Eagles fans saying about him. Many don't rate him and I'd be more inclined to listen to what they have to say about him as a player, both positive and negative, than people who don't see much of him. I've ventured over to the WCE board on BigFooty a few times this season, and many there not the biggest fan of Gaff... "downhill skiier" "least damaging 30 possession player I have ever seen" "doesn't hit the scoreboard enough" "a bit soft" When I have actually watched him play (rarely) he seems ok, but these comments are from people who watch him week in, week out so I'd trust their judgement more than mine. Not sold.

In fairness to the Hawks... they have been pretty good at making ordinary players look decent over the years so probably figured they'd do the same here. Too much spud though
