  1. Also said that Jakes exit interview with the club was far from pleasant.
  2. Mahoney on SEN now. Said our offer to Adelaide involves our 1st & 2nd round picks Edit - and one of those would potentially be a future pick. Adelaide want 2 x 1st rounders
  3. Levers manager was on SEN this morning. On the question of "what if another club can offer Adelaide something better than what Melbourne can put up for trade" he said "Jake will only be dealing with Melbourne. He wont sign off on anything from any other club" Welcome to the MFC Jake Lever!
  4. I posted it a while back, but a lot of Eagles fans dont rate him, saying he is least damaging 30 posession player they have ever seen. Above stats confirms
  5. No.... he is not that detailed in his thought process. Sydney you could argue were red hot favourites coming into finals. They are currently getting flogged by Geelong Richmond flogged Geelong last week Therefore....
  6. I would. Watts is 27 now, and I think we have seen and got all we are going to get out of him. He may well benefit with a change too.
  7. God if my Richmond neighbour wasn't unbearable enough this past week, he'll be even worse now if Geelong get up
  8. Agreed. What about Dangerfield though? Or Hurley? Or Judd? Or any of the other big name players who have been thrown up over the years that we all get ourselves into a lather over? Dont get me wrong, I see it all as a bit of fun, and quote enjoy reading all the threads, but I wouldn't deem the club to have failed if these fantasy trades dont eventuate, because many are just that. Fantasy.
  9. Cue the "we should have held on to Spencer to see if we could have got something at the trade table first" comments...
  10. That's cause many of the 'big trade' discussions are here on Demonland, and Demonland alone, based on "inside words" from sometimes less than credible sources. Like the Gaff one for instance. That was mentioned where? Once on twitter? And now we have run with it to the point where some have probably accepted it as something that is actually happening, and would consider it a failure if it didn't eventuate, even though it may never have been on the clubs radar.
  11. Nope, he had his chance to come here in one of the more recent trade periods, but sooked it up because we took Jurrah in the 2009 PSD instead of him. [censored] him
  12. Imagine if it was an MFC player making the tackle and it was? *riot*
  13. We wouldn't have been in this game. If we'd beaten the filth like we should have we would have been up in Sydney today and this game would be Port v Bombers
  14. "Casey Scorpions Forever" being played as they come out? We are the Demons now, song monkeys!
  15. Shane Woewodin.... just sayin!
  16. Equally I think people tend to overrate players from other teams, just because they are someone from another team with good stats or good highlights. Ask the average Joe from Collingwood what they think of one trick pony Howe now. They were creaming themselves when they first got him, cause all they saw of him was this guy taking massive speccies on the news each week We - the fans who watch him week in, week out - knew better, and knew that was basically all he did. My earlier anti Gaff comments were based on what I have read many Eagles fans saying about him. Many don't rate him and I'd be more inclined to listen to what they have to say about him as a player, both positive and negative, than people who don't see much of him. That said, Bombers fans were laughing at us for taking Melksham too, so not all know what they are on about. Anyway, for some balance, here is a little Gaff positivity for you, from HS two days ago... ============================ http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/the-best-endurance-players-in-the-afl-revealed/news-story/74a8c996525dc5b45cb04258c9ac680c SCULLY averages a league-high 16.6km per game and his standing as the game’s unrivalled endurance machine is laid bare by his ownership of the four highest distance totals this year, topped by a 18.3km effort against Collingwood in Round 8. 17. I've ventured over to the WCE board on BigFooty a few times this season, and many there not the biggest fan of Gaff... "downhill skiier" "least damaging 30 possession player I have ever seen" "doesn't hit the scoreboard enough" "a bit soft" When I have actually watched him play (rarely) he seems ok, but these comments are from people who watch him week in, week out so I'd trust their judgement more than mine. Not sold.
  18. In fairness to the Hawks... they have been pretty good at making ordinary players look decent over the years so probably figured they'd do the same here. Too much spud though
  19. I don't know a thing about this twitter account (if credible..etc), but the following was posted a couple of days ago...
  20. Lets hope so. One Mac down back is more than enough, and TMac going forward would solve another immediate recruitment need.
  21. Yep. And if he doesn't we look a bit silly. Speaking of which... my little finals tickets booklet arrived on Friday...
