Bennell has not been "dropped" He is being managed and will be all season. Get used to it.

According to Mahoney about 5 minutes ago (Zoom call). Jetta down on form and he acknowledges that himself. Hibberd coming in allows Harmes to get back into the midfield mix. Oh and Bennell... he said they want to work him back into it slowly. He was never going to playing every game this season. They want him to be a long term player and so he will be in for a couple then out for a lower intensity match in between, such as with this week in the scratch match.

3 of the ins and 3 of the outs are exactly the same as last week. Added to that this week is Jetta/Bennell out and Lockhart/Hibberd in Most thought Lockhart was stiff to miss selection last werk and if Hibberd coming in means Harmes can get back to the middle, then isn't that a good thing?

  6. Yup... I'm not bothered at all to play Fremantle in QLD, and would be perfectly fine staying up there to play both the Crows and Port too. Much less of an "interstate" game than playing them at Optus/Adelaide Oval, their actual homes, in front of a crowd. As for away games in VIC, are they really away games if there is no one in the stand? What's the difference, other than who controls all the LED boards around the boundary? Only true away games in VIC this season is GMHBA and we avoided that. Don't really get the melts, tbh..
  7. Don't let a West Coast supporter hear you say that...
  8. Or it could be [censored], and this is just an easy way to get the heat off Essendon and allow the AFL to press on with fixturing and keep the broadcasters & West Coast happy. Lots of problems have now gone away. Watch McKenna/Stewart have 14 days off anyway for "general soreness"
  9. I for one am quite glad that we dont have our players exposed to their (potentially) disease riddled backline. Let Carlton be the guinea pigs.
  10. The only player that has been deemed "close contact" is Stewart, who was apparently his wrestling partner. I guess snotting/spitting, wiping his nose and grappling with players during training doesn't count. ?
  11. If you were sitting in your car when it was raining which would get you more wet? Window most of the way up (supermarket screen) or window all the way down (no screen)?
  12. He probably assumed that our game vs Bombers would be played at some point next week and they'd then need to push out Cats game to give us a proper break?

How is it that many of the same people who criticise the club for gifting players games, are now getting into another tizzy when they don't? Demonland is so confusing sometimes.
  14. And Port say nope.... https://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/718636/chairman-s-message-update-on-prison-bar-guernsey-petition "To avoid any confusion, let me present some facts to you. At no stage did the current Board of the Port Adelaide Football Club sign a “once and done” agreement with the AFL to enable us to wear our black-and-white Prison Bar guernsey in our 150th year. FACT. In fact, the Collingwood Football Club were prepared for Port Adelaide to wear this guernsey in both 2020 Showdowns, on the condition that we would sign off on it being the last time and no more. FACT. Subsequently, we refused to sign off on anything preventing us from wearing this guernsey beyond 2020 with “the parties agreeing to defer further consideration of that issue to a later point in time.” FACT. Therefore, we are doing exactly what was agreed, picking up the conversation to be able to wear the black-and-white Prison Bar guernsey in Showdowns ongoing. And we are not asking to be the Magpies in the AFL. FACT. All we are asking is that we are able to wear our black-and-white Prison Bar guernsey in all Showdowns moving forward"

They did the song again once Max (along with Tomlinson, Hunt & Langdon) came in and they realised their mistake. Complete non-issue, however I acknowledge people here need their fix of outrage after missing out for 13 weeks so have at it.

To go from 42 points up and on fire to meekly limping over the line is certainly cause for serious concern, but I'm gonna reserve judgement till after next week. First game back after 13 weeks off in isolation and prior to that having played just one game in anger since last season isn't exactly a normal situation. I'm gonna call it rust. Very bad rust
  18. Interested in some early thoughts from the Demonland armchair selection committee...

There are "approved" locations they are allowed to be. No doubt that was swiftly added... ?
  21. Statement on MFC site says both caught an uber to unessential gathering. No mention why the difference in suspension length. Both are allowed to play in scratch match https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/704946
