And some clubs this year seem just outright paralysed.

Only speculation as mentioned, but my thinking was that we would have better compensated Freo if we weren't using a later pick. Thus for the three ins: 47, a second-rounder, and something packaged. Still, I wouldn't be surprised though if we just see the #47 used in some odd positional jockeying up and down the draft order.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC
Skuit replied to ignition.'s topic in Melbourne Demons
His stat-line for that day (in his second game) if anyone is interested: 15 disposals (6 contested), 4 marks, 5 tackles and a goal. Edit: And in his third AFL game (the WA derby): 19 disposals (9 contested), 6 marks, 4 tackles and a goal. -
I'm thinking that sending #66 to Freo means that #47 is in play for the draft. Just vague speculation.

Along with memory loss, another symptom of old age can be strange, distant reminiscings.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BALIC

I actually suspect an in-principle deal was made in good faith between the clubs at the beginning of the trade period for Fremantle to receive our highest inactive pick at its conclusion - with the Watts hold-up related to what we could/would do with the returned pick. I base this suspicion on very little evidence. -

Congrats to Josh and the team on a great deal and welcome to the Melbourne Football Club Harley. -
If they're insisting on an aeronautical theme, why not borrow from Seattle and include the Space Needle?

I think you deserve a prize of some sorts for this line. To stand out in such a crowded field is quite the achievement.

Can't give you the up-to-date figures for this precise point in time, but if you scroll about 12cm up you can access the data from roughly ten hours ago.

So I went back and read the start of this thread and it was like watching From Dusk till Dawn: normal, normal, normal, VAMPIRES WTF!?

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Skuit replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hey Steve. You've mentioned Petrucelle's explosiveness previously, but which three on this list would you personally take if you had a free hit - i.e. those with the potential-most upside as impact players regardless of current concerns for consistency etc.? Cheers. -
Assuming the secretary of the North Melbourne FC types at 90 wpm, it will take all of 36 seconds to draft an email saying, 'Thank you for considering the North Melbourne Football Club with your generous offer. We have given it our due consideration, but our internal research indicates that you don't currently hold the picks outlined in your proposal. In this respect, we will have to graciously decline at this point in time. Kind regards, NMFC.'

Jack Viney doesn't think. See ball get ball.

It all just seems too straight-foward and reasonable as an explanation though. I'd prefer to slash my wrists with Occam's razor than believe anything lacking in the appropriate outlandishness as that.

Cheers billyb. I'm an avid collector of utterances that have or will only ever be spoken once by a single individual among many many billions over the entire course of human history back to the advent of language and through to our species' inevitable extinction.

I have a fairly good idea that anyone wishing a trade backfires on the coach of the Melbourne Football Club is not a supporter of the Melbourne Football Club. Farewell No Soup.

Consider yourself bagged. And hopefully shipped to Port (where the only soup you'll get there has a pie floating in it).

You are committing so many logical fallacies that I'm going to join in by not joining in and go straight for argumentum ad lapidem in response.

Comparisons between Mark Neeld's school-principal posturing and Simon Goodwin and Peter Jackson's concerted efforts to instill cultural change at the MFC are just so so wide of the mark as to engender absolute genuine disbelief. Or in internet parlance: I don't even . . . And this is before examining their respective records.

I have no idea where to start. Oh, yes I do. That bit about 2011-13.
-
Umm? He's retiring. So the loyalty and contract statement can only logically be taken as a dig at Colin?
-
So maybe Sam will now choose another role model and perhaps live up to his own potential?

Tracky McTrackmark.

We're in far more trouble than I thought if the MFC powers-brokers are the Haymes Paint marketing department.
