Please don't speak on my behalf. Jack Watts didn't leave a year or so ago because no other club would have offered him the same sweet deal he had at Melbourne. Loyalty my ass. Loyalty is fronting up - not just hanging around. You don't call a cat loyal just because it comes home at dinner-time. I recall either the last contract or the one before, Jack made quite a little song about how he was sticking around (after testing the market), like he was doing us a favour - despite having contributed SFA on-field to our cause. Aggravated then, and still rankles now when people speak of him being such a great club-man.

Jurrah. But to expand on that, Jurrah.

A small detour (considering the track has already buckled): We could be looking at minor milestones for our youngun's in just about every other game through the middle of the season: Salem - 46 games Harmes - 44 . Hunt - 41 Petracca - 39 Oscar - 37 Brayshaw - 36 Stretch - 36 Oliver - 35 ANB - 34 It's probably not that unusual to have so many young players at a club floating around that mark but most will be expected to be core starters this year. I'm hoping that the repetition of milestones week-in week-out will add to a sense of belonging and unity. And if we just happened to snatch a flag, watch out when these players are then hitting the 80/100 game-marks in the following seasons (along with Hogan - currently 51 and Lever and Frost - 56). Go Dees!

Criticisms of execution/involvement based on a single game's highlights are indeed flawed but I think there are some things you can pick up from limited footage re. body and movement etc. My concern at this stage would be how he holds his body over the ball and uses his arms. Seems to be trying to keep his feet - good - but has an odd posture gathering the ball in tight. Hard to put the finger on exactly but it may be more of a basketballer's stance. And doesn't have/use the strength in his arms to create space/evade harassment. To me, he seems rawest in this regard - not a natural or smooth footballer. These things of course can be developed (along with the body) in an elite AFL environment, and he's obviously already made big strides in a short period of time at the lower levels. Do you think this is an unreasonable assessment to make on limited footage and based on what you've seen live?

Anyone have any footy footage of Corey Maynard before he joined the Dees?

Demonland Crystal Ball 2017: Your predictions for next season
Skuit replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm claiming a consolation prize. See the bolded bit for those who have already bumped big Pedo from their starting line-ups for next year. -
Obviously thinks Demonland has far much more going for it than what it really does.
-
Seems to me like Hibberd is over Lever. Which is a concern, as they haven't even started preseason training and already things have gone sour. Team Watts warned us this would happen.

Welcome D4life. It's refreshing to hear one of our older supporters talk in such terms

The only option as a fellow mid-week ANZAC combatant Wadda. And they come off a four-day break. In all likelihood will be a horrible game like last year, but there's no reason to think we won't run over the top of them again.

And with us playing on Sundays in cuts down on the news-cycle before our weekly rectory session at the tribunal.

When the AFL converts to AFLX in a couple years and they add in a basketball hoop for the Mega-Points Power-Play it will all make perfect sense.

On the outside it had the all the makings of a benign communal love-in, like one of those threads with 'Neville Jetta' in the title. Michael Hibberd speaks about Jake Lever coming to the club - two recent AA-quality recruits to our defensive unit. We express our mutual happiness, congratulate the club, and look forward to our bright future with a warm fuzzy glow in our hearts. Nek Minnit: Demonland - post-season 2017 version.
-
Think the AFL may have caught wind of Viney and Lever going toe-to-toe in the ring, and with Tomas Bugg fresh in mind, thought it perhaps best to keep us out of the prime-time slots. Bring on Unsociable Sundays!

Make that 2999-3999 memberships.

It is a worry. There's no hiding from the slump in comparative figures. There may be an innocuous explanation which will correct itself, but ding has fronted up and given his personal reasoning, which whether anyone agrees with it not, fits within the narrative of greatest concern - members are especially angry with the club this year over a combination of (late or post-season) factors and are prepared to bite off their noses (for the time being at least). Acknowledging such an occurrence isn't a criticism of the club - they would have had a pretty good idea of the impact in moving on Jack - but also would have weighed it up as a one-step-back-two-steps-forward overall strategic approach. Sustained on-field success is the only reliable tonic, and we have everyone at the club now driving toward this result. It may be the membership recession we had to have. Here's hoping some of the anger will subside soon after the boys strap on the boots for pre-season training - boys including Jack Viney, Clayton Oliver, Jesse Hogan, Christian Petracca, Angus Brayshaw, Jayden Hunt, Christian Salem, and, drum roll, Jake Lever, and that chaps like ding will get back on board - but here's hoping more so that we finally win a bloody flag and don't have to concern ourselves anymore with supporters being in a huff.

After the fiasco of our final-round exit last season, Peter Jackson and the AFL have clearly colluded to ensure we become the first team in history to secure a finals' berth before the bye. Go Dees!

Read this as 'defecating'. Googled the Daily Mail Australia for the first time ever to see what else I might have missed.

So Richmond ruined Trenners' career is what you're saying? It's Adam Maric all over again. That kid had such a happy future and look what they did to the poor lad.
-
Are you referring to yourself or the club Bobby?
-
But is related in the sense of additional weight-bearing on the foot due to having to nurse the original one through games?
-
Don't care who we play but when we play and where we play in relation to that when - i.e. not multiple consecutive games six days after one another with a cross-country trip in the middle. Simple as that. We had the most taxing post-bye fixture that I can ever recall. Anything that isn't that is a bonus and should be surmountable. I'd be thrilled if we played each of the top-eight teams twice next year.

Your autocorrect appears to have gone rogue.

Still do.

Fifty-5 - I think you should channel Jack Watts and be a bit more precise in your kickings. @ding is just an an innocent bystander - not to be confused with @KingDingAling, (and then also bing who chipped in for a like). A-ringa-ding-ding.
