  1. You can understand why everyone thinks we are a laughing stock and you cant trust us and media asking questions about our DNA.. i hate it all but you just cant argue against any of it. They continue to disappoint and let their very loyal and long suffering members down and it really annoys me that we are teh ones that get the grief off everyone. As an aside i saw some really ordinary signs of onfield arguing. Its starting to fall apart at the seems.
  2. Couch discussion was so good, and like him or not Lyon nailed everything about the club and the side.
  3. 100% agree with this. If more of our players had his determination and competitive nature it would be great, but that can only get you so far and at times disrupts us like you say Jaded. Its a great word.
  4. If Goodwin keeps Melksham in.. i think im done. honestly i think i will hang it up for the year.
  5. I have to agree with this, its on the players. There refusal to be in the game and up for the fight from the start is stark. no good starting try in teh second half. Had to be in teh first qtr with teh wind and put the game away and take teh sniff away from the opposition. Cant think of anyone who really gave it everything. Max maybe teh exception.
  6. Never has a club deserved the reputation they have and we will never ever be able to change teh minds of anyone because this happens so often. I thought Goodwin and his team coached well last week. I though their selections this week were a bit strange but didn't hate them, and i dont think 1 player that went out would have made a difference. I have real feelings of hate for this club at the moment. How do they spin this. Goodwin sat like a stunned mullett in the coaches box.. gosh im filthy again a this club.
  7. I like these changes.. I thought it was a mistake dropping Lockhart, but we covered his absence well. Hibbo has had a really good consistent year and we will miss him, but should be rested. And AVB is simply not having any impact at all.. its a tough one, i love his physical approach but 0 tackles last night, 1 v Dogs and 0 against Pies. Simply not doing what we want, might be positional, might be game plan, but its his 1 wood and its not being used. Give Bedford a run, Pickett is a bit lost. I think we can all see that he will get there, but he continues to not do the percentages.. tap ons, between the leg stuff, overrunning the ball at pace.. its all signs of a player that is trying a bit hard. i hope coaches sit him down and say, what we need first is impact, the highlights will come. Also hot in Cairns after Alice Springs, i think we need some freshness. Fritsch owes us and will be a good in. I am a fan of Mitch Hannan, i think he is a good natural footballer, but last night he had a really poor game. He needs another week, some continuity to find his spot. I think Melksham is hanging by a thread but he has kicked 15 goals, last night only the third game he has not hit scoreboard so he stays. If you look at teh Swans, they used McCartin at CHB v Port yesterday. That leaves a pretty small Fwd line for them, Sinclair went fwd, as Allir did some ruck work. I cant find a match up for Oscar. Unless he plays on Reid and we free up May and Lever to be dual interceptors. Will be interesting selection, i hope its team selected for match ups rather than rewarding a team that won a game.
  8. Salem is slow cant play on teh outside IMO.
  9. No way Hibberd is being dropped IMO... had a really good 4 weeks.. bit down on the weekend.. not on his own there.
  10. Spargo plays well when teh team plays well, when they kick it long and move it quickly.. he reads it pretty well. He was not alone on the weekend, do we rest Kozzie, his good is electric obviously, his bad though is consistent with a young fwd pocket.. its hard position for him.. tough one, keep him in and give him experience or keep him in and dent his confidence with little involvement.. not that he lacks confidence i don t think.. probably need his pace against the saints. Bennell should be played at some stage again soon, probably not this week and should be across half back or wing for a couple weeks.. give him some confidence
  11. our grid or zone works well when you play against a side that is poorly skilled and turnsitover by foot.. The bulldogs have dome the same thing to us 4 years ina row, run, HB through us, spread and find loose men in FWD 50. It was absolutely horrid the level of coaching and planning for that. Dont care what anyone says, come at me all you like, but the coaches have to be better than that. THATS THERE JOB! Tom mC is a shadow of his former self, would prefer Smith in that role, better athlete, wont let players run past him.. has to go. Harmes is a deadset liability at the moment.. he fumbles, he does not get involved.. he offers nothing. Rivers in for him. Pruess will go if Max is ready. Would keep Hannan, i believe in him as a footballer, he is abetter player that Melksham. If Melksham is in the side for his leadership and his kicking, then we are not getting enough from both. Kicking into the man on the mark is u/12 stuff. giving away 50s... its simply not good enough from him.. he can hardly run.
  12. yeah its a big call and no idea of injury concerns but i watch him and he moves so well and is so classy.. but as i sad im just spit balling..
  13. One a bit left field is Shaun Higgins.. i think Nth might look to gut the place in terms of age and therefore older players will be up for grabs.. he would be a great pick up as he has so much class.. could be great off a Half back.. just a thought.. feel free to howl it down.
  14. Yep thats a really good point. Big call for the FD.. i would still tend to err on teh side of caution with Max. we did against the N0 1 ruckman in the comp in Goldstein.
  15. I just hope the Pruess injury does not lead to us rushing back Max. We need him as healthy as he can be in the run home, i would give him 2 more weeks.. Pruess injury sounds like an annoying one, but again, we cant afford to carry him if it is enough to hamper his output. Tom Mc and Brown. Leave Weid Fwd.
  16. I challenge you to find any fair minded and balanced Demon supporter that didnt have their concerns on Weid.. he has taken a long time and i think what i have written is spot on.. confidence is key. Go look for a fight somewhere else.
  17. So Tom Mc needs to play higher then and run and lead up at the ball, it opens the fwd line up.. Jackson has met the ball, thats why he has been good, goes to the contest, hits the pack, enables Weid to be 1 on 1 most times.
  18. Its a big blow. the FD has to be creative here.. cant take Weid away from the fwd line, Tom did well around the ground.. it is something that has to be managed, even more reason to rest Gawn and make sure he is fit enough to play the season out.
  19. Think Ed has been awesome.. he run he spreads, it is exactly what we needed.. he has his issues with ball use, but so does Dangerfield.. so its all relative, we got him to run and provide an option outside to widen teh ground, he has done that and he is not a timid wingman either, he is tough and i think he has been a great pick up.
  20. Lachie Hunter would be very nice, lovely user of the ball. and can play true wing.
  21. All fair point Patches.. in an ideal world they co-exist. Wait and see.
  22. If there is small doubt as to his fitness then he must be rested. What happens if we lose and he pulls up lame, or we go in with him and he does not come back post half time, it would be laughable. Play the percentages here, rest him, go with the same set up against teh inform ruckman in Goldstein last week. They wony have Treloar or Pendles.. and Gundy may be rested anyway.
  23. All fair point Patches.. in an ideal world they co-exist. Wait and see.
  24. I dont think i am missing the point, but i get why you might say that. Jack has had a great year, he is in front of Brayshaw in my opinion. Jack has done everything that's been asked of him, his numbers this year are very very good, as i said, he has his faults, but for me, it has to be worked out that Brayshaw fits around Viney at this stage not the other way around. Angus likes it on his terms, and i challenge anyone to say they dont look at Angus sometimes and say he is plain disinterested, dropped the bottom lip and not getting involved. That can never be said of Jack. I suggest we functioned well in teh middle was more because we didnt have Max that because we dint have Jack.. and the opposition was trash. All good though we are entitled to our opinions and the jury is out for me on Angus and whether he can contribute on the clubs terms, not just on his.
  25. Trading Viney will never happen.. he is a fabric player, the club has done this in the past and it has been a bad move. The difference between Watts, who was also a fabric player and Viney is that Viney has more competitive spirit in his toe that Jack has. And frankly the people saying Viney and Brayshaw cant co-exist in the midfield is rubbish, its up to Goodwin to make this work. They can and they will. Viney is having a 10 time better year than Brayshaw, has his faults but he would be one of the first selected. Pruess is the the one that will net us something. GWS would kill for him, they need a ruckman, there 2 are old and just about done. We need to go to the draft again, Pickett, Jackson and Rivers were a great group, no reason we cant identify need again.
