  1. I can't help but feel that if Clarry was to play VFL in response to being down on form, as many have called for, then those same folk would be criticising and piling on their fave whipping boys Laurie and Billings... Catch 22, but there's not much big picture thinking happening when it comes to repetitive emotional venting. Discussion and constructive criticism is important (and venting in the immediacy of the Game Day thread and shortly thereafter also serves some purpose) but weeks of griping and piling on does not a constructive discussion make...
  2. Trac posted on his social media and discussed in one of the recent interviews he did that the doctors at MFC did what they could and he doesn't blame them. Whether his family agree with Trac's public statements or not is another thing, but Trac has certainly not been a diva about almost dying. So many posters (not saying you, necessarily, adonski, but certainly plenty in this thread and elsewhere after our losses) on here are warped in the head - requiring players to be hard as nails, spouting all sorts of toxic ideals... then when Trac almost dies because of trying to tough things out, baying for the blood of the club alongside the rest of the media.
  3. I finally said goodbye to Google Podcast, and am now following along again on Antenna Pod. Sounding great as always, fellas, even if it is another difficult game to discuss!
  4. Or perhaps Farage insulted the banana milkshake, and she felt compelled to show him where to shove it!
  5. Good work JVR!!! Bright spot
  6. Maybe it should have been a Collingwood player being leaned upon, so as to reach a target demographic of fans that historically haven't used Colgate (or any toothpaste, for that matter)...!
  7. The loading discussion has been a point of contention for 3 years on Demonland, so the framing of that and the comparison with being a bad kicking side is framed by that history.
  8. Let's say boasting even if that is a stretch, as Layzie says... But yes, singular in the sense of lone in the sense of single, to over-analyse and "hyperbolate" the auto-correct!
  9. Au contraire, given I'm not the organising type! But the rental market in Syd was so bad I only got a 6 mth lease. Now I'm moving to a forever* home which should put a stop to all this silliness! Still going to be near the SCG though 😁 it's just not the weekend if you don't hear the stadium sirens! *at least until I eventually move back to Melb
  10. Meanwhile it's the first sunny day in Sydney in almost two weeks! Perfect weather to *checks notes* ...be stuck inside packing to move houses
  11. Maybe you can borrow a hoodie from one of the boys... shouldn't do much for your 'end' but may reignite some feeling elsewhere 😂😂
  12. Thank you for your sacrifice!! But you've just dodged one painful end, so please try and dodge hypothermia! Maybe ask Clarry for some tips on how to regain feeling in your fingers?
  13. This is the best training report we've had on Demonland. I can pretend I'm there while remaining cosy in my bed in Sydney! Also, thanks for foregoing the dryness and warmth of your own home to get to Gosch's!
  14. Our victory may be less important than a triumph (and of vanishingly small odds that we actually achieve it), but maybe we can secure some missiles of the Roman meaning if we resort to using some missiles of the contemporary meaning!
  15. I suspect you're right but my singular brain cell isn't known for forethought!
  16. Oh I know the correct contraction, WCW! Just fear language is evolving to treat the singular contraction as applicable to the plural (and even have been found guilty of doing so while speaking myself from time to time 😳)
  17. On a similar note, has anyone noticed that "there's" is often used despite the uncontracted phrase being in the plural of "there are"?
  18. We may indeed be alone... even MW derides us, despite preserving the original meaning! Informative but glossed over the median usage (re percentage) in between the Romans and today with only a brief mention of tithing! It's a bit like literally and figuratively, with literally now having a common usage of which figuratively used to have the sole domain. Sure we can live with the evolution of language, but I'll remain twitchy! Precision of meaning can be vital for productive communication and consensus buil--!! *DP is pulled off-stage by a hook*
  19. iirc seems Anderson has not won a case for the MFC except for that JVR case last season
  20. On a different note, remember when decimate meant to destroy one tenth? I'm no good at calculating percentages but the evolution of decimate to mean largely destroy does my head in...
  21. More likely that the tooth fairy exists than the AFL having a scrap of integrity, these days...!
  22. Good, long lasting minty toothpaste with a completely recyclable tube! Something to "Dsmile" about, so to speak... https://dsmile.com/products/toothpaste 😁
  23. Thanks for the training report, Kev! Have a wonderful time overseas! Hope you're back in time to watch our next premiership 😁
  24. The idea that Chris Scott is secretly a die hard Dees fan, who posts very regularly and insightfully on Demonland, and has styled himself as the personal assistant to binman is too funny. Thanks for the laugh!
