  1. Surely a stick with a pom pom... a flogger! So you can give people a good flogging 😂
  2. Unfortunately a lot of the natural growth and interest in the game has been hampered by the AFL's strange decision making in respect of the AFLW. The most obvious instance being last year's grand final, where they forgot to secure venues in various states and so then we ended up in Springfield... Scheduling games at suburban grounds is one thing (and has its own charm) but doing so at 5 pm or other strange times on a Thursday or Friday makes it difficult for a lot of working people to travel and attend. That'll eat into crowd numbers... It's important to make things accessible to the general public to grow interest - which is why we prefer to play our home games at Ikon Park (heart of the city and all that) over Casey Fields. There are a whole lot of double standards used to justify the lower pay of the women. It sounds reasonable until the bigger picture is looked at.
  3. Ahhh I misread this as look at the early call we made for the 2023 season, which understandably upset me. I'm ready to go for 2024, back to tentatively believing in us as flag chances. We have issues but we can resolve them!
  4. Interesting article! Of course there should be some incentive for the boys, but it feels a bit disingenuous to give the boys the same $250,000 as the girls when the money means so much more (and goes so much further for the improvement of) the girls comp! The difference between equality and equity in action
  5. ...because under defamation laws, publishers (ie Andy) can be held vicariously liable for the posts made on the publisher's platform. Use your googling skills if you want to read the post.
  6. All the best Kye Turner, we barely knew ye.
  7. Yeah we've looked a bit off at points. And I really was expecting more of a showing from North
  8. Cracking start to the quarter! Loving Heater's lockdown on Garner, been going well. Good to see Chaplin back on the ground too, phew
  9. The commentators really keep mentioning the breeze in this quarter, as if we aren't putting in the effort too to get this momentum swing and lead 🙄
  10. Good couple of minutes from Chaplin, especially that smother. Hope she's only got a bad bruise rather than anything more serious with the ribs
  11. Thanks WCW! 💖 Bit gutted since I've been planning to attend Round 8 since Round 1! But convalescence on a couch with our girls playing hard against a top side is the next best option. Although my cheering won't help my throat 😂
  12. If anyone wants my ticket (or just can scan in to inflate attendance numbers) then please DM me! I was planning on travelling to Melbourne for this Sat but have ended up sick... Might be preaching to the choir in this thread though 😅
  13. Does anyone remember the exact nature of Lever's foot stress injury? If it was a lisfranc, that might give us some hope. Of course, TMac did a good job coming back from his lisfranc but unfortunately the rest of him is also pretty cooked :(
  14. The other highlight of Petty is he intimately knows our game plan both forward and behind... A new gun key forward traded in would not have that same depth of understanding which might make for slower return on investment. Even without a trade we will have to grapple with this while Petty and Melksy are injured
  15. I didn't say it was good 😂 My fave detail is that the stats bars don't make sense but they're in red and blue
  16. No, they made it deliberately look like a browser 😂 It's a whole graphic theme they're doing for trade week... pretending to sit at Lamb's desk https://www.instagram.com/p/CyVC-ZALCkg/?igshid=NjIwNzIyMDk2Mg==
  17. Honestly, the whole saga leaves me disappointed in all parties. During preseason there was such hope and a strong showing of a two ruckman system. For various (and fair) reasons that style did not show throughout the home and away season... but to have it end in such a solitary manner between the club and Grundy makes me feel bitter as a fan. In Sydney, I can't rely on special information. I can only see what is happening in the media and this forum... and most of it just muddies the water. Grundy seemed like a great and professional player - if he disengaged to the extent people are saying, that disappoints me. The way Max and the club appear to have behaved and the lack of acknowledgement of the situation disappoints me too. There may be good reasons for each party to act like this but I have a day job and can't spend every moment reading every tea leaf to figure out all the allusions. I hope we play well next year and that Max's body holds up against the onslaught (but the pessimist in me doubts it)... I am sad Grundy departed but wish him no ill will. It is what it is.
  18. Idk, Broden goes full nuffy whenever he talks Dees on the pod. He can pretend he's above it, but deep at heart he is clearly a Demonland nuff like the rest of us 😂
