  1. Going the Crom for this game, for our boy Nibbla!
  2. Interesting that the highlighted quote about The Deebrief focuses on emotions as a highlight. After a while this is what turned me off their podcast, the banter and emotiveness (think gameday thread). I now focus solely on the Demonland podcast because of how insightful it is (while still allowing space for some humour and fellow feeling).
  3. Just like that time I visited Singapore and an ad played before the movies about how the World Happiness Rankings said Singaporeans were unhappy but actually... Singaporeans are so happy! 😉
  4. Well we're definitely heading up to the top 8!
  5. I'm based in Sydney and have no sense of direction!
  6. You might love it (or hate it) up here, Layzie! I live on a laneway and everyone chats to each other. Something about the small walkable streets and all the cute dogs being walked leads to a small town friendliness, even though it's only 1.5 km from the CBD. As I type this I can hear my neighbours Kathleen and Ross talking under the frangipani tree! (It's nice except for when you get caught with a large load of shopping...)
  7. You're telling me! Was watching the game and enjoying the new dimension of rain before it fi ally clicked that I live down the road from the SCG and I rushed off to collect my newly wet washing 😅
  8. I think that is fibre haha
  9. I noticed that too! A few boys helped (saw Kozzie in the background) but Sharpie definitely did the most, making that big stack.
  10. Rick squeezing his chocolate gel snack thing and then realising he'd squeezed too much and it fell on the floor 😂
  11. And the rain isn't drizzly or misty like is often the case in Melbourne. I've had the same load of washing rained on 3 times this week, because the weather changes are sudden and not as forecasted 😅
  12. I also have a street party! I thought it would start at 6 pm (to which I could arrive fashionably lateish) but they've set the start time at 4 pm :')
  13. Nothing but your dulcet tones on the pod recording, Andy! 😄
  14. I've always been a big fan of the 90s emblem, as can be seen from my display picture 😁
  15. Can't believe I forgot Jonesy! Doh! Thanks for the details about Bass as well... and about you corrupting the youth 🤣
  16. Interesting! I've just realised I'm not across who our new assistant coaches are, after McQualter and Stafford left. I know we've moved Chaplin to the forward line, but who else is around the joint now? Is this partly because we couldn't find someone to replace Yze's tactical mind? I participate in the attention economy on Demonland, although generally I sprinkle rewards via reactions rather than commenting
  17. It's good the Crows appreciate him!!
  18. Thank you for a great podcast, boys! (And thanks for battling on in the face of various tech hurdles, Andy!) I've already listened twice (don't tell my boss haha). Over the break I'd stopped listening to podcasts with as much frequency, but now I realise I just had a Demonland podcast shaped hole in my heart ❤️ 💙
  19. He's gone straight to the pool room at the Crows (ie their leadership group) 😭
  20. Seems like we're the second, after Lego sponsored the Matildas last year! https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/lego-australia-partners-melbourne-demons-afl-club/ Idk about how prevalent sponsorships are globally but apparently they sponsor the F1?
  21. Glad you all had a good break (certainly well deserved). I'm excited for the first episode of the podcast this year! Based on pre season track watching and the hit out against the Roos, do you think our capacity to execute the new, faster moving game plan has improved (compared to last season's difficulties)?
  22. This was something that I noticed when I first moved to Sydney - there are particular rugby games which are TV events. The Sydneysiders will head to a pub or otherwise do a viewing party to watch those games, and will banter during the week leading up to the relevant game (generally finals and the state of origin games). However, most people never go to a game or think about it outside of those times. The focus seems to be on the communal experience instead. I was negotiating a sponsorship agreement against a few different rugby league corporates at one point and (as a pure AFL devotee) went to ask a number of loud "rugby head" colleagues questions about how the season etc was structured. Surprisingly not many could tell me much or answer my basic questions... I ended up using Wikipedia and speaking to one person who was actively a rugby follower to find out more. Very different interaction to how AFL is treated by fans!
  23. I went to the beach the other week (rare for me despite living in Syd) and got quite roasted despite 2 applications of sunscreen. Think I'm in the market for a burkini 😅
  24. Almost like there was some sort of disease in recent years that weakens the immune system and damages organs like lungs, thus causing susceptibility to other diseases 🥲
