Can’t pin that one on Goody imo, game plan works, had us 19 shots to 15 at 3QT but the players can’t kick. Yes maybe we need a new kicking coach but at the same time these are professional footballers who get paid to kick - fix yourselves boys ffs! Coaching can only do so much but eventually you have to execute under pressure.. Another last quarter fade out though is pretty hard to cop. Selwyn and co need to move on.

Not thrilled with the outs, Petty has been good forward last couple of weeks, Viney has been important as a defensive mid while still getting some ball and I think Melksham makes our forward line work better with his organisation and his kicking. Only 12 touches last week but he had a goal, 2 goal assists and 7 score involvements - big loss. I rate JVR so he has to come back at some point, in for Petty makes sense but his form hasnt been great this year. Oliver obviously a gun so plays when he’s ready. Jeffo I haven’t seen anything that gets me excited for him at AFL level but hopefully he proves me wrong. I don’t think he’s got the smarts and grit to do the Melksham role on Sicily. Overall we’re a little worse off than last week and playing a better team so I think we go in underdogs. Hopefully pull off a surprise or at least keep that annoying gnome Watson quiet, McVee should be able to cover him.

He’s a fantasist, I’m not sure if he makes the conversations up in his head from scratch or he actually talks to people and just hears what he wants to hear but he’s completely useless as a news source.. not sure why they employ him.

Where are you getting your stats? AFL tables has JVR at 5.07 kicks vs your 4.58, disposals 9.30 vs 8.91, mi50 1.46 vs 1.19, goals 1.35 vs 1.21. Also just give us the names, secret squirrel business isn’t all that interesting

It’s not just us and Clarry they’re targeting at the moment, they’re also working overtime to get Harley Reid back to a Victorian club (not us obviously, they’ll be pushing the usual suspects).

3 wins in a row, kicked over 100, won comfortably in the end. Not great but not the coach killer it looked at half time. Still need to get better if we’re going to compete with anyone in the top 8 but st least we’re out of the bottom 4 (for now at least).

Yeah Jesse was a freak, averaged 2.14gpg with us over his first 4 years, then dropped to <1 in his 2 interrupted years at Freo. Not many hit the ground running like he did.

Coulda shoulda woulda didn’t. Don’t buy that argument. If JVR got better service from our mids he could also kick more goals, but you can’t kick what ifs.

Just throwing in a data point after my earlier blues comparison: Tom Hawkins over his first 5 years kicked 107 goals in 79 games (average 1.35pg). Went on to kick nearly 800 snags at 2.22pg. JVR is in his 3rd year and averages 1.35pg.

Yeah nah. He’s young, turned 21 last year. Compare his 2024 to Curnow and McKay’s 2018 (when they turned 21): JVR avg 10.2 disposals vs Curnow 13.8 and McKay 10.6 Goals 1.4 vs 1.7 and 1.6 Hitouts 4.2 vs 0.1 and 1.9 (he’s had to do more work in the middle than either of the blue baggers did). Tackles 1.8 vs 2.1 and 1.8 Goal assists 0.3 vs 0.2 and 0.2 DE% 70.6 vs 60.1 and 73.6 Marks i50 1.7 vs 1.9 and 1.7 He’s not far off 2 Coleman medalists at the same stage. Needs to work out his bodywork and footwork..

It doesn’t mean 6 though. He gets suspended for games not weeks. 4 games suspension should mean 4 games suspension, always has. If the 4 games are scheduled over 6 weeks bad luck. Why should 2 byes make a difference if 1 bye doesn’t? I also don’t think the bump was worthy of 4 weeks but that’s no reason to stuff around with it via the back door.
