  1. A bit weird that Brown jnr got dropped but lots on here seem to assume that because things are a surprise to us on a Thursday night that the players are as mystified as we are, I don’t think that's the case. Lever back helps us, interesting to see us go tall and that’s probably what cost Brown, couldn’t fit AMW in without dropping a small and it was LIFO. Can’t see us winning, lions by 30 unless we find a way to kick 85+ which has been pretty rare.
  2. Less than 7months older on average than the Roos team we played last week and they’re in full rebuild mode. I had us probably 6-8th preseason, losing to the eagles and getting flogged by the dockers derailed that a bit and now Trac going out for the year probably has us 7-12th now with more turnover of the best 23 than was planned preseason. I think it’ll stand us in good stead for next year with some games under the belt of the kids and hopefully add a couple of guns through draft and free agency. It’s a reset and refresh year not a burn it down and start again year.
  3. Some serial offenders in there. Is Will Schofield still annoyed at us over Clarry getting him reported there? Would explain his commentary the other week..
  4. Exactly. We’d all like Clarry back in B&F form but setting minimum standards on an internet forum isn’t going to get him anymore kicks on the weekend
  5. I was scrolling through AFL tables looking at his record against us to see how this could possibly be a decent prediction before the penny dropped..
  6. You poor thing. Thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻
  7. In the highlights you can see he gets to Petty after the mark telling him to (I assume) take his time, do his routine or whatever and then as you point out is in there celebrating after Petty kicks the goal - shows that even though he’s got his own issues he’s got genuine care for his teammates and is trying to help them out. Obviously has or had some off field issues, played with a broken finger for a month, is having a down year but he isn’t Robinson Crusoe there. He’ll be back.
  8. It was good when we were winning, gone off the rails in the past month. I haven’t managed to get through a full ep in a while.
  9. I went hard on north at $5.30 so I can pretty much guarantee they are no chance given my punting record.
  10. Agree, culture doesn’t prevent bad times, it helps you get through the bad times. The slump we’re in doesn’t show the culture is bad, but how we come through it will show where we’re at.
  11. Fair enough, but that vision doesn’t show what Lloyd’s claiming in my view. He’s 70m out in the first one, not looking to have a shot - I think he’s thinking does he go to JVR or to Pickett and ends up taking too long. The handball to Chandler was probably there but he’s also our main goal kicker so is paid to kick them.
  12. I think this’ll be it. Won’t see Fullarton, AMW or Sestan until they start appearing in the emergencies first - club usually signals who’s next in line
  13. Big call from Lloyd to call 3 players selfish when his only vision is Fritsch fluffing 2 kicks, I think it’s indecision more than anything cos they’re trying to work out what they’re supposed to do under the new plan. May has been like that every game of his career, when we’re winning it’s being uncompromising and hard-nosed, when we’re losing it’s an issue. Potato potahto. Uncomfortable viewing seeing Eddie defending us though.
  14. I’d say take my money now but you’re gonna need to wait til he retires to get all the good gear, hopefully 2030ish
  15. I find… It helps if you… read them.. as some… kind of.. haiku… full of sound and fury.. signifying…?
  16. Couldn’t agree more, 2024 has been a shambles so far and clearly we all want things to improve but the drama on here from some is way over the top. Club is profitable, memberships are good, crowds have been good (though might drop off a bit if we don’t get back on track), AFL is looking after us on fixtures, stable board, management, coaching group. We’ve still got some all time greats of the club running around out there. Maybe it won’t get better this year but if it doesn’t we’ll be back next year. It’s not a bin fire, the new game plan either isn’t working or they haven’t got it working yet and we’re missing some key pieces but because we’re suddenly out of the 8 for a few weeks it’s all “boo-hoo we’re irrelevant, pies supporters say mean things to me, my feelings are hurt so someone needs to be fired”. A few on here need to grow up.
  17. you’d be at 200 pages before you got past technicolor yawns and darts on the way to training
  18. Not against HARD decisions, I’m just against unnecessary panic leading to poor decisions. Yardsticks of the competition, Swans (two coaches since 2002), Cats (two coaches since 2000). Underachieving panic merchants, Blues (8 coaches since 2001, many of them would’ve sacked Voss mid-year last year if they could’ve too), Bombers (6 coaches since 2008, plus some interims). Who do we want to be? Perennial finalists or panicked yo-yos? P.s. Seems you find typing HARD… to do, maybe try… using… both hands.
  19. Textbook fishing from Ralph, wants her and Pert to start jumping at shadows so they can really kick off the media frenzy. The board don’t report to Ralph, or Cornes, or Gerard - those guys just want drama to fill their radio slots and newspaper columns. No good outcome for the board to start making big calls “we fully support Goody and the boys” = we’re going to sack Goody, “we want the team to start playing better” = we’re going to sack Goody, “we have no comment to make” = we’re going to sack Goody”. Better to just stay quiet and let the footy department get on with it.
  20. Thrilled to be a part of your performance art piece
  21. Thank you for that extremely well thought out and measured response to something that I did not write anywhere in that post
  22. I do get it. There’s a lot of people on here scared that we’re falling back to the dark times of winning twice a year and racking up wooden spoons and they’re coping with that fear by getting in first and weeping and moaning about how it’s all falling apart so they can psychologically protect themselves if it does come true, and also pat themselves on the back and say they called it before anyone else, and called it harder than anyone else. It’s fine, do what you need to do. But stop lapping up every half arsed article knocked out in their sleep by journos and ex-players and ex-coaches and whatnot as if it’s wisdom from the gods. We’re not playing well, no [censored]. We’ve got some issues off field, no [censored]. Good clubs work through those issues and tough times and make changes and get better. [censored] clubs panic and sack everyone and set the whole place on fire. We’ve previously been the latter, I think it’s time we were the former - but some on here want the flames cos then they don’t have to fear being disappointed.
  23. See above. He’s added zero, just recycled and said here is why Melbourne is bad now and he’s pretending the signs were there all along despite picking us to finish 5th when all those same signs were apparently there. Convenient and on trend yes, insightful no. also “he’s not writing this as a journalist”? He’s paid to pump out columns and that’s what he’s doing, it’s not a charity gig.
  24. If you’re going to question my intelligence try not to misspell 2 out of your first 6 words but hey. The connection, which was quite clear, is that you were accusing others of not addressing Malthouse’s points and instead mocking him, and when someone else made another quite clear point about Malthouse making up stories to fit the facts you chose to mock them rather than address the point. Simples when you think about it.
