  1. I’m not telling you you were wrong I’m saying you’re hindsighting it now
  2. Lost 2 finals in 2023 by a combined total of 9 points, we weren’t far off so Blind Freddy must’ve been watching something else
  3. Fair, I hadn’t realised brisbane were so short, but their shorties are mostly A-grade. Their mosquito fleet has kicked 50 goals, average of 6.25 between those that have played this year, pies shortarses have kicked 43 (avg of 8.6) and ours have kicked 33 (avg of 4.7). Bris average 17.8 disposals and 4.5 marks (career avg used for McCarthy and Coleman), Pies 18.9 disposals 4.2 marks (added N Daicos 184cm). Ours 14.5 disposals, 3.1 marks (incl Viney). Fine to be short if you are good, Bowey, Chandler, Pickett & Viney are good. Spargo, Laurie, Sharp, Henderson should only play if one of the good shorties is out. Admission: at 178 I’m also a shortarse in AFL terms so no bias here
  4. I will just add that we’re currently on an average attendance of 37,907 for our 9 games. 8th overall and ahead of Port, Swans, WC, Freo etc. 9th place on just home games with 40,002 (obviously boosted by Anzac Eve but that goes for others too). Bombers and Tigers 11th and 12th with 37k and 36k. We do ok despite the peanuts on social media talking us down when we get a low crowd against a team with no fans.
  5. Feel real bad* for the ducks, I mean hawks… *not really
  6. This is my biggest problem with our list, too many leprechauns. Can’t have Spargo, Laurie, Bowey, Chandler, Sharp in the same side, you just can’t compete with that many undersized players (Koz is the same size but he’s a level above)
  7. There is just no reality where a coach 2 years after a flag with 2 subsequent top4 finishes and prelim finals gets sacked. It just would not have happened under any circumstances and people should let it go. Whether change is needed now or not it is pure fantasy to think he was ever getting the axe after ‘23.
  8. Agree we’re not fit enough, but it’s not the whole story. I do think we need a new fitness staff.
  9. But how hard you work depends on the game plan. A new plan means players getting caught out of position and either they have to work harder to get into position or someone else has to work harder to cover. Cumulatively everyone is doing more than they would otherwise need to and that takes a toll. We looked gassed at the end of the 3rd, Disco and McVee playing keepings off to waste the last couple of minutes was to try and save something for the last but we didn’t have it.
  10. Press conferences are a requirement of the AFL & media partners, the idea for coaches is to get through them without actually giving any info out.
  11. Can’t pin that one on Goody imo, game plan works, had us 19 shots to 15 at 3QT but the players can’t kick. Yes maybe we need a new kicking coach but at the same time these are professional footballers who get paid to kick - fix yourselves boys ffs! Coaching can only do so much but eventually you have to execute under pressure.. Another last quarter fade out though is pretty hard to cop. Selwyn and co need to move on.
  12. That’s me done. Not coming back to a game til they sack the fitness staff. Can’t win games if you stop at 3QT
  13. Trac blindly kicking it anywhere i50 Is driving me bonkers
  14. Playing ok just can’t kick for goal. [censored] me this watson germ gets looked after and we can’t even get a trip paid when 60,000 people saw it. Should be 3 goals up
  15. Not thrilled with the outs, Petty has been good forward last couple of weeks, Viney has been important as a defensive mid while still getting some ball and I think Melksham makes our forward line work better with his organisation and his kicking. Only 12 touches last week but he had a goal, 2 goal assists and 7 score involvements - big loss. I rate JVR so he has to come back at some point, in for Petty makes sense but his form hasnt been great this year. Oliver obviously a gun so plays when he’s ready. Jeffo I haven’t seen anything that gets me excited for him at AFL level but hopefully he proves me wrong. I don’t think he’s got the smarts and grit to do the Melksham role on Sicily. Overall we’re a little worse off than last week and playing a better team so I think we go in underdogs. Hopefully pull off a surprise or at least keep that annoying gnome Watson quiet, McVee should be able to cover him.
  16. He’s a fantasist, I’m not sure if he makes the conversations up in his head from scratch or he actually talks to people and just hears what he wants to hear but he’s completely useless as a news source.. not sure why they employ him.
  17. Where are you getting your stats? AFL tables has JVR at 5.07 kicks vs your 4.58, disposals 9.30 vs 8.91, mi50 1.46 vs 1.19, goals 1.35 vs 1.21. Also just give us the names, secret squirrel business isn’t all that interesting
  18. It’s not just us and Clarry they’re targeting at the moment, they’re also working overtime to get Harley Reid back to a Victorian club (not us obviously, they’ll be pushing the usual suspects).
  19. Past performance is no guarantee of future returns
  20. To be fair a big chunk of that $70k was for being a 4x B&F winner and premiership player, that’s what got him the big contract
  21. August? I was still hoping we’d be playing in September but clearly Gawny’s written us off 😝
  22. Well spotted
  23. All started by Sam McClure saying on radio he’d heard Clarry was still upset about not getting to Geelong, so you can take it as absolute [censored] as I wouldn’t believe McClure if he told me the sun rises in the east.
  24. He’ll absolutely get a week or 2. Plays for Melbourne, it’s the AFL’s latest “rule we just made up to keep the media happy” and they’ll be itching to use it on someone, no special club discount.. he’ll go.
