Players obviously loved and respected him and vice-versa. Glad he got Kossie to sign up before he was sacked. Once again, thank you for the premiership. Goody was the heart and soul of the footy club.

Just watched the press conference. One man squirming, the other so proud. It was so revealing. A fish first rots from the head. The MFC carcass at the moment really stinks. Goody was not the head, he was further down. Pretty much where the heart and soul reside. Clearly he still had his players on side. The head of the fish consists of the Board and senior administrators. It not only stinks, it reeks. They should all resign and / or sack themselves. We need new blood at the very top. Strangely I’m not feeling overly upset. Maybe supporting the Dee’s for well over half a century has hardened me up. I just feel a little numb. Or maybe I’ll get a big dose of PTSD in the coming days. Who knows.

Aside from this site I pretty much now ignore any other media, be it what’s on telly or in the newspapers or any other social media when it comes to anything about football. (other than watching the games) Ironically, when the footy season started I also chose to no longer watch the news on tv at night time . It was really beginning to make me depressed. Outcome being I look forward to watching the games come Thursday night and onwards as well as attending our games. For me ignorance is now bliss when it comes to not knowing what is going down in the commercial entertainment industry called the AFL, as well what is happening in the real world. Go Dees!

No I wasn’t being literal but I’m not sure how old you are but it’s a bit rich for you to suggest that I should find a new interest. But just to rub it in, at least I was there to watch us win the last one. Be a bit rich of me to suggest that if you didn’t make it over to WA you perhaps weren’t trying hard enough, so I won’t😉

I get excited with anticipation all pre season thinking of the possibilities of what may happen. It is all good, we haven’t lost any games (neither has anyone else) Each game day I also get excited. The possibility of what may happen……then unfortunately about 10 minutes into the games of late, the excitement finishes. Sad but true. But then there is always the next game, the next season. Except for one or two years, sadly this is how it has been for me for over half a century.😞

Sadly, I really can’t disagree with you. But…..2022 our injuries didn’t help us (but we made the top four). In 2023, we again made the final four but we managed to lose both games that we had won. Sooo close And 2024, poor. So….I have to agree with you. ☹️

No matter what may happen to him now or in the future, I will always remember him as the coach that got us our first flag in over half a century.

Totally agree that with us you can get a good idea if we are a chance very early on in the game. Somehow I find it is easier to make the call when actually at the game as opposed to watching it on the telly I normally make the call at the 10 minute mark. Last week sadly, it was fairly obvious after 5 minute.

How do I feel about tonight? Generally speaking when it comes to football I’m an optimist. But sadly this year footy which is like a religion to me has just become just a game and after this week I might even end up hating the game. The only upside to all this is I tend to get things wrong. I picked the Dees to win in the first three weeks, I now have tipped them to lose. Hope I’m wrong again.

It was very difficult to try and explain to a couple of my Collingwood mates that by barracking for Carlton to lose did not mean that I was barracking for Collingwood.
