  1. Kings press conference after the game, he was proud and articulate. I kid you not, I was totally bewildered with Ross Lyon’s. Aside from being an arrogant f-wit, I honestly could not understand what he was rambling on about at times. Long live the King (and you have no idea how grateful I was when Buckley did not get the job)
  2. I’m pumped. Revenge is best served in the first round. GO DEES!!!!
  3. Had the same problem but found the solution below. (Scroll down etc) Bit clunky wasn’t it? (Or maybe I am just a living breathing dinosaur) Go Dees
  4. How is this for an oxymoron. I really don’t like this idea of hearing songs being played after each goal but I hope to hear plenty of it! (Presumption being that no songs are played when the opposition side scores) I think what annoys me the most was I liked having a chat with my mates after goals were kicked. Might be a bit harder to do now. Such is.
  5. Looked like two bottom four sides. Hope we are a cut above them
  6. Love the game but I am finding I grossly dislike most things that get packaged with it…..including songs after every goal
  7. I’m changing my tip to Melbourne winning next week
  8. Likewise. I tend to log out at the end of each quarter and then log back in at the start of the next quarter. All went south after half time. Tried the same on the tablet and had the exact same problem. Even went to effort to delete and reload app. Gave up and listened to the rest of the game on the radio. After the game I tried Kayo again and sure enough, it worked!!!
  9. I think that the multiple best and fairest winner, All Australian and Norm Smith medal winning premiership player is somewhat overrated. No great loss😢
  10. Game over. Only thing to look forward to is Chris Scott’s press conference. Too much to hope that he does a joint one with Figjam?
  11. Made me smile when I saw that Buckley was Geelong’s new defensive coach as the Suns piled on the goals in the opening quarter Sooooo glad we didn’t pick him up as our head coach.
  12. “Heath Shaw crept up on Reiwoldt like a librarian!”……priceless
  13. Always was and always will be …. a Melbourne champion
  14. Even though it has fallen from grace from its glory years, when compared with the Feral Hun, it is respected and revered.
  15. I noticed that they were 25 minute quarters
  16. I just want us to beat effing Collingwood
  17. My bad, thought you left out Essendon!
  18. I just checked that it wasn’t 1 April. (Just saw the reference to ‘The Shovel’ Absolutely the best satire going around, on pretty much all topics….worth subscribing to)
  19. Groundhog Day coming up🤞
  20. What happened to the idea about having a bye week just before the GF? Certainly would give the two contenders an opportunity to freshen up as well as address concussion protocol timelines. Sorry, forgot there is no money to made that weekend by the AFL. Scratch that idea
  21. Bit of a joke isn’t it. Commercial entertainment at its best (or worst). The upside. Another week to watch footy. Just like opening round. Sure, I’ll look forward to another week of footy. The downside. It is more and more just a contrived competition. This on top of the ‘fixture’. Still love the game but I’m losing the passion.
  22. You are bringing back memories I thought I had long buried. I was at that game sitting in the northern stand amongst the Melbourne faithful with my two kids. The Southern stand had been recently being rebuilt. Decided at 3/4 time to take the kids over to the new stand to check it out and enjoy the ambience of the throng of miserable Essendon supporters. Bad move.
  23. This isn’t one of the rule changes for this year but perhaps should have been …..it is the adjudication of what happens when a player goes to kick a ball (say when getting tackled) and he misses kicking the ball and it drops to the ground. My understanding is that now it is interpreted as ‘made an effort to kick the ball’ so it is ‘play on’. Problem is the rule is inconsistently applied. It appears to be applied in the middle of the ground but quite often when it occurs near the goals I have seen it paid as a free kick (dropping the ball). For what it’s worth I reckon if you try and kick the ball anywhere on the ground and you miss the kick for whatever reason (most likely whilst being tackled) it should be given as a free kick to the opposition. But that’s just me. My guess is they changed the rule or the interpretation of the rule last year to not slow the game down. Happy to be corrected (I’m just lying on a couch thinking and typing….better stop now)
  24. More and more the game is becoming a commercial entertainment exercise. Slightly off topic and I guess it will never happen because AFL would lose some revenue……reduce the home and away season so that each team only plays each other once (and have some byes to pad out the time between March and September) Of course it will still be a ‘fixture’, but hopefully it would become less of a contrived and biased fixture. And of course this will never happen
