My thoughts exactly 💯
-
Glad to hear that we won’t be trading him - it would have ripped the heart of of so many supporters and been a slap in the face to Clarry But the absolute [censored] show this has been can’t be ignored and it is embarrassing to once again be the laughing stock of the completion If we’re going to keep kicking own goals, the next media story that comes out better be that Green is shopping Pert around (although I presume there will be no takers…)
-
Thanks for the info as always From the outside this seems more and more like a huge [censored] up by the club, especially if clubs were asking if two first rounders would get it done only a month ago…
-
Thanks @goodwindees - no worries if you can’t say but does that mean you now think we can get fair value from the Cats?

Absolutely embarrassing from Pert This guy has the subtlety of a bull in a China shop and yet he thought no one would find out if he was shopping Clarry around? I don’t care what, if any, issues have been going on behind the scenes with Clarry - Pert getting caught out has made us look like an absolute shambles of a club and this is now a lose lose situation whichever way we go Seriously disappointed to be an MFC member at the moment
-
‘kardiniacat’ is a step too far for me
-
Changing my name to just ‘cat’ if Clarry goes to Geelong
-
Absolute amateur hour at the MFC right now
-
I love the idea of trading Clarry now…
-
Push has come to shove with Clarry, Chook? At least from the club’s perspective?
-
Very curious to see how the club sells this to members if they go through with it and get chump change in return…
-
Pert needs to be sacked yesterday
-
m8 I’m being hyperbolic but if you don’t think memberships won’t be affected by this whole saga you have your head in the sand We’re already thousands down from last year and are every chance to be thousands down again if we have another bottom six finish in 2025 And not just memberships - it’s already been reported we lost Houston because of all the noise around our club If you’re happy to keep paying up then more power to you - I probably will too because like everyone else here I’m a nuff who spends more time worrying about my club than most things But not everyone is in that position and there is nothing wrong with people voting with their wallets if they don’t have faith the club is going in the right direction And to be honest you’re delusional if you think we are at the moment
-
There will be one less MFC member next year if we trade Clarry for only a future first from Geelong of all clubs
-
Seriously can we ship Pert off already? I don’t have an issue with the club shopping Oliver if they think that is what’s best - tough decisions are required for all clubs to be successful But every time there is a media blow up it seems Pert is at the heart of it Why is he contacting other clubs about potential trades and not Tim Lamb? Why has he again put the club in a position where we’re walking back something that’s he’s gone out of his way to leak in the first place? Everything about this bloke just screams amateur hour when it comes to the club’s PR
-
I don’t want to lose Oliver but surely including SDK would be the only way a trade with Geelong happens this year Maybe when Trac goes to the Blues next year we can nab his brother and complete the set?
-
Very true - the knock on Brisbane was that despite their elite skills and transition game they didn’t apply enough pressure around the ball and their defensive structure wouldn’t hold up when teams got on top of them in the contest In the last couple of years they’ve managed to address both of these issues while retaining their elite skills and ability to transition the ball, and that’s why they’re now the reigning premiers The fact is that while we might be able to be the best contest and defence team, we’re going to continue to find it difficult to score and transition the ball while we have (relatively) unskilled players as our major ball winners I don’t envy Goody and the coaching staff this off season that’s for sure
-
If there’s even a 1% chance he’d want to go home early go hard at him while we have pick 5 and a valuable future first I know Port would almost certainly say no outright but if he’s destined to leave anyway that would be a good starting point for them
-
Now there’s a Port player I’m trading two first rounders for
-
I don’t see how Geelong has anywhere near enough currency to get the deal done unless they’re sending Sam De Koning back the other way Of course you’d listen to any offers of a top 10 pick and another first rounder, but I don’t see anyone who would make that deal in a strong draft and why we would entertain anything less Would much rather give Clarry another off season to try and get back to his best

Confirmed as coach -
Thanks Kev - great to hear that there is a mix of younger and older players already on the track at what I presume is an unofficial session? Would love Sestan to take his fitness to another level this off season as he clearly has the skills to make it
-
He’d be best on in our media department at least
