2024 Phantom Drafts
Thanks BLWNBA - any sense of who we would prioritise should Langford AND Tauru be available at 5? Say if North takes FOS and Adelaide take Draper

WHERE IS THE PHANTOM DRAFT CAL I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE

2024 Phantom Drafts
This would be a great scenario for us My worry is that Langford will be off the board at 5 so I’m desperately hoping the Crows take Draper and he falls to us If so it’s very plausible that Tauru is still available at 9 as I’ve heard no links to him going to Richmond at 6 or to Saints at 7 and 8

I like Tauru but I don’t like him when there is a gun midfielder on the board at 5 While I prefer Smith and Langford, Draper performed almost as well as these two this year and I’d be massively dissappointed if we overlooked him here

The potential for that first scenario scares me

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Thanks for that Gator - interesting though that we’d take Allan who arguably has more knocks on his kicking than Draper

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Curious if that’s the case - I have him ranked third after Smith and Langford (excluding Ashcroft) I think those four have been the most consistent and are the most bankable at AFL level - would be disappointing not to grab any of them

2024 Phantom Drafts
Surely we wouldn’t pass on Draper at 5 if Crows take Langford? 😱

Langford at 5 and one of Allan/Tauru at 9 would be ideal No Tauru at 5 though pls

I had the same thought I hadn’t watched much of FOS because I always assumed he’d be gone before our pick, but after watching some highlights I have to say I was underwhelmed He clearly has some elite athletic traits and class when in space, but I also saw a lot of up and under kicks and some hacking it on the boot in congestion I don’t want to be too harsh on the kid, but if it’s between him and Langford I’m on Langford all the way- The Jagga Smith Thread
Intel @BLWNBA?- The Jagga Smith Thread
Goodbye Jagga, we hardly knew ye- Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
Very curious as Hynes to me looks very much a JT pick and I’m surprised he’s not rated higher in all of the power rankings I wouldn’t be surprised if we did end up taking him at 9 and he’s the first real bolter of the night McGowan with the inside word perhaps?- Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
At least they linked us to Hynes and Allan at 9… r-right?- 2024 Phantom Drafts
Welp, let’s just hope Adelaide and North come to a deal for pick 2 so that Tauru is off the board before our first selection I’ll be sick if we take Tauru over Langford at 5- 2024 Phantom Drafts
They have us taking Langford and Armstrong Interestingly they have FOS slipping to the Saints, with Jagga being taken by Carlton- 2024 Phantom Drafts
Bad draft choices are always a chance when Stephen Silvagni is your list manager- 2024 Phantom Drafts
I’ve had the same thought about Smith and Langford, and as unlikely as it is there are scenarios where we get both I think it relies on us taking Smith at 5 though as reporting suggests he won’t last past the Saints (whereas this hasn’t been explicitly stated for Langford) Smilie has been heavily linked to Richmond at 6 so presuming they take him, it would depend on the Saints and their own internal rankings It’s not impossible that they rate say Tobie Travaglia or Bo Allan higher than Langford, and/or go with a tall such as an Armstrong More likely they just take Langford with one of their picks, but I’ll be doing cartwheels if not- Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
I reckon Adelaide will pull the trigger on a deal with North for Pick 2 to get him- Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
Hearing that Someone with a funny name is rated very highly by JT 👀- Welcome to Demonland: Pick 68

Some of those kicks are *chef’s kiss* From the footage I’ve seen I reckon his physical limitations are overstated, wouldn’t be against taking him with 9 at all- Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
As good as Sanders is as a midfielder, he is very vanilla and can’t play any other position, hence why he didn’t get much game time Compare that to the top 5 or 6 of this draft - Lalor and Langford could come in and rotate forward/midfield, Smith could come off half back or even play a small forward role, FOS is dynamic enough that he could play anywhere from wing to half forward Not hard to see all of those guys playing most games next year Having said that I do agree that a couple of draftees - however good - won’t significantly change our fortunes next year as we’re still very reliant on Trac and Clarry playing at an elite level to be contending for the flag - The Finn O’Sullivan Thread
