  1. Snap him up if he slips Think it relies on Richmond taking Grij and Essendon going for the SA midfield double of Sharp and Cumming
  2. This We’ve always valued bringing in more talent sooner to allow for more development time The faster we bring in high quality talent - even if they don’t become stars - the faster we’ll begin to improve and attract FAs Besides, we have two firsts next year, so we’re well set from a trade and draft perspective anyway

This is why I’m so big on Grij None of the players who are likely to be available at our picks looks like a “sure thing” So with that in mind, I’d be picking for players who have traits we need and significant upside Grij isn’t the finished product but you can so clearly see the type of player he could become
  4. I could maybe get around this when we move to 20 teams, but having more than half the teams in the comp play finals next year is ridiculous
  5. Because there’s a good chance you could get both of them later while still using one of those picks on a higher rated player JT and the team will have a good idea of where other teams rate those two and that will inform the strategy around trading/not trading picks
  6. I think West Coast would want another pick in that scenario - perhaps GC future first I would do that to get Robey though
  7. I like both but would much rather we try and manufacture a way to take Pickett with a later pick, so that we can still take a Cumming/Farrow type
  8. Do you think we’re any chance of trading 7 or 8 back to take Pickett and Nairn with two later first round picks? I know some will say it doesn’t matter where they go if we rate them, but surely we can find a way to take both with later picks given where they seem to be ranked
  9. Rivers is an obvious one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of our young guns like Langford and Lindsay develop into those roles Disco another who has reported leadership qualities I think the more we empower this younger core the better set we’ll be for the future
  10. It’s definitely a big hole, but we have a hole in our midfield too and it seems crazy to me not to pick a developing mid (or at least a player who can develop into a mid) with one of those picks - especially when Grij can do that while also adding the speed we need! I have a feeling I will be melting with the rest of Demonland come draft night 🤣
  11. I can understand that to a degree but when you look past their speed I feel like they’re actually quite different players Windsor while very quick is also is very straight line, whereas Grij has a lot more agility in and around the contest (more ducking and weaving than gaining a step like Windsor does) I also think Grij is a better kick and has more defensive nous based on his time at half back To me there’s enough difference there to justify taking him, and I think Grij’s potential ceiling is very high (although he needs to work on his ball winning ability, which I can understand might temper expectations)
  12. With 7 and 8? Yikes 😬
  13. I don’t think we rate Grij for some reason 🤷
  14. Robey is the one And to add insult to injury it was us who first interviewed him before all the hype I know we’ll get two solid players at 7 and 8 but it’s definitely an underwhelming crop right when we need more star power coming through

We’re really going to take a player ranked in the 20s/30s over this guy aren’t we…
  16. I think it was Emma Quayle man - she’s on the GWS recruiting team
  17. Yikes Thank [censored] we didn’t do that 🤣
  18. Apologies - you’re correct on Pickett Reading that he has scope for wing or even midfield minutes makes this a more exciting pick for me (if it does happen) but geez what a jump it would be compared to what the media is reporting at the moment
  19. Yes but none were rated as low as Nairn this late Nairn would be the biggest reach we’ve ever had I usually back JT to a fault but this would be a massive swing and potential miss based on who else would be available
  20. Lmao in what world are we taking him with 7 or 8
  21. Grij and Farrow yes please Edit: and Greeves!? 🤯
  22. It would give us some versatility for sure, and I suspect that’s something King would rate (based on how Geelong like their players to operate)
  23. Are we locking in the Cumming + Farrow double?
  24. Strong agree Honestly it feels like we fall just outside the top end of this draft (and even that isn’t as inspiring as previous years) I trust we’ll get two solid players but it’s chalk and cheese compared to Langford and Lindsay last year
  25. Hey that was my question 🤣 Reading the tea leaves I was getting the sense that we didn’t rate Grij as highly Disappointing if that’s the case as I feel he has the tools to become a mid in the Butters mould But as always in JT we trust
