  1. m8 donā€™t get me wrong I love McVee and Rivers, but I think youā€™re the one who needs their eyes checked if you think we have Dan Houston or Lachie Whitfield back there The fact is compared to a lot of contenders our half backs donā€™t rack up a lot of possessions and, apart from the odd highlight or two, donā€™t play a significant role in our ball movement
  2. I posted this on another thread a few months ago, but I love the idea of playing Windsor off half back The reason being is that heā€™s going to be in a much better position to win the ball at half back than he will on the wing (especially when the play is on the opposite side of the ground) I think our lack of ball winners and link runners in the back half has been a real weakness of ours the last few years, and I honestly canā€™t remember a truly elite game by one of our half backs since Salem in the 21 GF or a handful of games from Gus in 22 With his speed, smarts and defensive running I can see the vision with Windsor, and him getting another 5-10 possessions a game could be a difference maker for us Time will tell
  3. Weā€™ll make finals Too scarred from 2022-24 to commit to more than that though šŸ˜…
  4. I think the recruiting team have identified the small forward position as a need but just havenā€™t been in a position to take one in the draft In the past two years weā€™ve been linked to Nick Watson (we tried to trade up to draft him), Isaac Kako (would have bid on him had Essendon not traded us pick 9) and Joe Berry (I think pick 9 was a few spots too high to draft him, especially with Lindsay still on the board) Personally I think another genuine small forward is our number one priority come trade and draft time
  5. I for one am already looking forward to the Fremantle 2026 death ride when we hold their future first round pick Letā€™s hope the sequel is just as good as the original
  6. Perhaps we could trade him for Jackson? He seems pretty good

Iā€™m no expert but I would have thought both Max and Trac would be able to run and participate in non contract drills given their injuries wonā€™t prohibit their movement They should hopefully be able to keep their fitness up even if theyā€™re not participating in match sims etc

Pete Ryan is only a step above some of the spuds at SEN and Fox Sports Not sure why he even bothered writing the rest of the article after he noted we have broad support for the Caulfield project only a few paragraphs inā€¦
  9. Weā€™re going to need some mix of Chandler, Kolt, Spargo etc to kick 20+ each next year to be a genuine flag chance Fritsch and Kozzie have been our only consistent mid/small forward goal kickers the past few years, and when theyā€™re not kicking bags we generally struggle to score Trac could help a lot in this regard if he spends more time forward but it seems like heā€™s been training exclusively as a mid so far this offseason, and weā€™re still pretty reliant on him in this position
  10. I canā€™t quite put my finger on why they bully us so much My best guess is that their mids can match us in the contest while outpacing us, meaning we frequently get opened up Meanwhile theyā€™ve been elite defensively for a few years, so when we do get looks we struggle big time to score Thankfully Iā€™m pretty neutral about them so I donā€™t get too upset, but it would be good to get one back on them this year
  11. Freoā€¦ at a regional ovalā€¦ God help us
  12. Iā€™ve heard Toby Bedford is pretty good
  13. I was big on moving Petty forward the past couple of years and part of me will always wonder what would have happened had he not injured himself so seriously at the end of 2023 But with May and TMac aging we need another quality tall defender and only Petty fits the bill at the moment It will be curious to see how our defenders line up in round 1 as we clearly canā€™t play all of Lever, May, TMac and Petty Although competition for spots is never a bad thing šŸ‘€
  14. Also, what does this mean? Did he not go where he did? šŸ˜…
  15. Good contentā€¦ on the MFC socials? What is happening šŸ˜±
  16. Holmes is actually a good comparison for Windsor The wing is an important position in modern footy but it can be a bit feast or famine (play constantly on opposite side of the ground, a game being slower and contested etc) And while you do need two elite runners to play this role, you also want to be getting the ball into the hands of your best players as much as possible If they project Windsor to be an A grader long term, weā€™ll want to be putting him in positions where he can more consistently impact games and win the ball, with mid and half back being the prime roles for him to do this FWIW Iā€™m not opposed to him just becoming a very good wingman, but think he has scope to be even more than this (as Holmes is beginning to show at Geelong)
  17. šŸšØ PETRACCA HAS POSTED MFC PHOTOS OF THE CAMP ON HIS PERSONAL INSTAGRAM šŸšØ I love you Christian I never said a bad word about you I swear #brownlow2025
  18. I was referring to public statements made by him but pop off brother
  19. Fair points, but just on the relationship between Trac and his fans - Iā€™m not saying I was personally effected by it Moreso that his lack of attempts to display anything other than a cursory commitment to the club this year suggests that positive fan sentiment was not a priority for him, and some of the reporting that came out around his intentions of why he wanted to leave also suggests this Just like we canā€™t control whether he goes, we also canā€™t control if he stays, and I donā€™t think a few stray comments on a forum will be the difference for him, so letā€™s not get too caught up in it šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
  20. m8 if Trac cared what the fans think he wouldnā€™t have kept us in the dark for two weeks and done so little to reaffirm his love and commitment to the club since šŸ˜… Not that he owes us anything - itā€™s entirely his prerogative and I donā€™t think itā€™s healthy for us to get into parasocial relationships with athletes no matter how much we love them on the field But by the same token people can make a few jokes and observations based on his conduct these past few months - itā€™s a two way street
  21. Not enough eyes on the brand up in Mansfield
  22. Would have been happy to take him at 1!
  23. Hopefully we find out soon *if* that list spot is going to open up
