THE 2024 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT - DAY ONE
demoncat replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Final prediction / hope - Langford and Allan Now let’s ride Dees -
I’d love to get some more goals out of our small forwards not named Kozzie - so I reckon Jack would be a great get Hopefully he’s available at our last pick 🙏
-
I actually really rate Berry but 9 does seem a few spots to high for him, especially if Allan or Lindsay were still on the board
-
Herald Sun late mail has linked us to Joe Berry, saying taking him at 9 could be a surprise of the night Still primarily linked to Allan and Lindsay at that pick though Meanwhile Jack Henderson of the Werribee FC has done a medical with us and seems a chance for our later pick should he be available
-
I feel like as long as we get Langford at 5 (presuming all the other top mids are gone) we can’t go wrong with any of Allan, Lindsay or Tauru at 9
-
I’m hoping the Crows are settled on Draper so we don’t have to worry about missing out on Langford Richmond’s interest in Allan is the potential curveball for our second pick though Do they jump on him at 6 if they think Smilie slides? Do they try and trade for one of St Kilda’s picks to jump ahead of us? If Allan is gone but Tauru is available do we end up with Langford and Tauru instead? Lots to play out
-
Langford and Allan again Seems to be firming as the most likely outcome, with Langford and Lindsay another likely pairing
-
It probably doesn’t factor much but I do wonder if Lindsay’s connection to Mentha through Gippsland could make it more likely we take him?
-
I’ve long loved the Langford Lindsay double so I’d be thrilled with this I still rate Allan too though, so either of them alongside Langford is a massive win
-
I’ll tell you on Thursday #whatdidheorder?
-
Funny as I’m actually expecting some good mail around that time too #watchthisspace
-
Crows taking Langford at 4 and Richmond taking Allan at 6 is doomsday scenario for us
-
If one of Richmond or Saints take Allan I reckon he slides to us Something like 6 Allan 7 Smilie 8 Travaglia 9 Tauru
-
Allan is very quick and rated very highly at the Combine for endurance, agility and his leap Langford is slower but tested well for endurance and is very strong, smart and clean with his ball use Despite being the same size they actually have very different but complimentary profiles
-
Tomorrow night I believe Now I have a whole new Phantom Draft to worry about…
-
Just dropped to my knees at Gosch’s Paddock and cried tears of joy Thank you Cal - Langford and Allan will do just fine
-
Thanks BLWNBA - any sense of who we would prioritise should Langford AND Tauru be available at 5? Say if North takes FOS and Adelaide take Draper
-
WHERE IS THE PHANTOM DRAFT CAL I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE
-
This would be a great scenario for us My worry is that Langford will be off the board at 5 so I’m desperately hoping the Crows take Draper and he falls to us If so it’s very plausible that Tauru is still available at 9 as I’ve heard no links to him going to Richmond at 6 or to Saints at 7 and 8
-
Cal Twomey save us
-
I like Tauru but I don’t like him when there is a gun midfielder on the board at 5 While I prefer Smith and Langford, Draper performed almost as well as these two this year and I’d be massively dissappointed if we overlooked him here
-
The potential for that first scenario scares me
-
Thanks for that Gator - interesting though that we’d take Allan who arguably has more knocks on his kicking than Draper
