Farewell Judd McVee
I don’t love it but unfortunately given he’s out of contact we don’t have much leverage We’ve always preferred to get these types of deals done early so that we can get creative with our picks But give how the last few years have gone under Lamb, can’t say I have a lot of faith in that…

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Is King the right guy thread started yet?

Whispers that the tyres on the van were in fact Tokyo Tyres It’s so over
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
Never said they didn’t, but we’re literally posting on a fan forum right now where people are going to have opinions about what the club does And as fans - most of us paid members - we’re entitled to have a view on what the club does Besides, I don’t think the club would think that’s a good deal for them either, otherwise they could get it done in an instant for that price (no way Suns would hold out to pay less)

Mate I understand that us supporters can be a sensitive bunch, but why on earth will you be cheering for people to react negatively if we only trade him for pick 7 and change? That’s not a good outcome for the club and people would have every right to be upset at it, and to gleefully sit there and hope it happens is just bizarre

“The Suns are adamant they will get a Petracca deal done (likely involving pick 7)” Wow does Lamb know the deal is already done?
-
Bailey Humphrey
Doesn’t that risk putting us on the back foot though? Especially if other clubs jump the queue and offer him a contract first
-
Bailey Humphrey
Any sense on whether Humphrey will nominate us?
-
Bailey Humphrey
Hawks can’t trade for both Humphrey and Merrett, plus any future first round picks they have are likely going to be in the late teens I still maintain that IF Humphrey wants to come home and doesn’t nominate a specific club, we’re significantly better placed than anyone else to get a deal done

One of the posts of the year
-
Bailey Humphrey
Have to pull out all the stops to get him to nominate us then, because there’s no way GC holds him if he wants out and we say it’s the only way to unlock the Trac deal
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Bizarre from Adelaide Admit they need a gun inside midfielder but won’t pursue or pay up for the ones available?
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
Reports now coming out that Suns may be open to trading pick 6 with clubs looking to get up the draft order If Suns are only willing to offer pick 7 (and change), where does that leave us with Trac? No Melbourne supporter is going to accept that being the heart of the deal for him
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
I thought you were saying we’re not going to get Humphrey but would still want Trac’s salary off the books? We’d also be a long shot to bring in Butters or King Agree though - we’d clearly be offering a Humphrey a significant portion, if not most, of Trac’s current salary to get him to nominate us
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
But what good is getting his salary off the books if we have no one to spend it on?
-
Bailey Humphrey
If it’s his priority to get home to Vic, he’d be advised that his best bet would be to nominate us given the Trac trade No other club save for Carlton will have sufficient picks to satisfy GC, and GC don’t want picks and Carlton need picks for their F/S Maybe I’ve got my red and blue glasses on but IF he comes home this trade period I think he comes to us
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
I don’t know if King agrees with you
-
Bailey Humphrey
The Dees from the past few years? Definitely We’ve been push overs at the trade table to our own detriment But so far King and Guerra seem to be willing to make the tough decisions, and I’m hoping this is the case in any trade negotiations They know we’re far worse off next year with no Trac and only a couple of extra 18 year olds, and I imagine King won’t want to make any deal that makes us worse as a team
-
Bailey Humphrey
I’ll keep my goggles on then 🤣 But seriously those are [censored] picks in a [censored] draft and my sense from the recent Lamb interview is that we have no intention of trying to get back into it
-
Bailey Humphrey
Reckon about 1% of Dees fans will be happy if we only get picks for Trac IF Humphrey does request a trade Will be a terrible start for Guerra and King given the public stance around Petracca
-
Bailey Humphrey
While I do agree, the only thing that might be in our favour is that the Suns are in win now mode and a player like Trac could be the difference between them winning a flag in the next few years or not Yes Humphrey is going to be a star but he’s still a few years off his peak - are the Suns willing to lose out on Trac if we play hardball and say it’s Humphrey or no deal?
-
Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Glad we were able to get him across on a two year deal Welcome Brody! Reckon he’ll be a solid pick up who will help develop our young talls
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
Humphrey or hold him - not interested in picks in a weak draft
-
Bailey Humphrey
Would more than happily attach a pick to Trac if it meant getting Humphrey over the line We desperately need more established talent to come into the club and Humphrey is the perfect example of that - he’s shown his potential and looks ready to explode I’m usually in the camp of letting unhappy players go, but if we can’t get Humphrey and don’t have another big fish on the hook, I think we need to hold Trac otherwise we’re getting a raw deal and can just about lock in bottom four next year
-
Sam Flanders
Boooooooooo Desperately need to land Humphrey now or we’re going to look like [censored] at the end of the trade period I know there’s only a 1% chance but would we hold Trac if we can’t get Humphrey over the line? Pick 7 is worth nowhere near enough for him and can’t see the Suns parting with pick 6 too
