  1. I want 5 minutes of my life back... Oh, I'd just waste it anyway...
  2. Slight tangent: Does everyone remember Davey when he first appeared - quick and dangerous but very limited in what we thought he could do (and should do, considering some on here as late as a few months ago thought he had regressed since 2004 and should play FP all the time)? He has blossomed into one of the best wingers in the game and easily our best player. His heavy tag will become lighter in a few short years and will become even more dangerous than he is now. In many ways I see a correlation with LJ with regard to FF. Many questioned whether Davey could make the transition to midfield as many are saying that LJ is too slight or too short to play FF. I know there aren't (m)any indigenous FFs. I think he can do it; with help from Watts, Bate, Wonaeamirri, Sylvia, and Petterd. And some decent delivery.
  3. He said everything you wanted to hear, 45hotgod16... A group of brothers brought together by winning, torn apart by the great inevitable, and sharing a common fate with one exception... Or at least we all hope there will be one exception...
  4. Or that we are trying to lose. We are crap, they are good. We will lose...

One Brad Green came very close to leaving 10 months ago. IF he wants to go and we there is a suitable trade, then good luck to him. IF it falls through and he stays here, well good luck to everyone. Medium to strong chance to still be around when we arrive in our window but developing Meesen or Spencer as the pure ruckman would be the most desirable as they will be 27 and 24 respectively when 2013 gets underway (Jamar will be 30 that September).
  6. These three players are going to have an interesting off-season, as I really have reservations about their futures and where the club rates their talents. Add PJ, Bell, and Newton. We will see what happens in October...
  7. I've already said my bit when it comes to Robbo throughout the year, so I won't be any more effusive about this very good player than I already have been. Very happy to hear Bailey and the FD happy to get Robbo to another club if there is one out there. Not going to be easy for anyone if he plays us but if another year of footy is out there for him, he should seek it and we should be proud.
  8. Those at the club can't split Judd and Scully at the same age. We would have had a very difficult decision to make 12 months ago, and thankfully, we don't have to make that decision. Scully would have gone 2, and Trengove is a harder assessment but may have been after Hill. Hypotheticals bore me.
  9. I'm more concerned with players getting into debt and offing themselves. So stop Addam from betting and give him something to do, and then we can worry about the players cutting themselves because a 16 year old thinks they should be delisted.
  10. Not to split hairs but we would be moving up one in the draft. But you're right it is a better example with a contracted player like Bell, Newton, PJ, and Dunn. A 'pointless' trade becomes very pointed if you are looking for spots on the list.
  11. My point was that there are half a dozen players on our list I would have behind Valenti. Of course, you select every player on your list with an eye to them improving your first 22. Valenti is behind a few in the midfield but if his inclusion in the best 22 means Beamer, Scully, and Davey get to kick more because he is the one at the bottom of the packs well that is great. I don't know if they'll be able to fit him in but he has shown he can play at this level. Good luck to him. If he plays for another club after we have overlooked him I will understand the club's decision and I won't begrudge Shane any success at all.
  12. You're contracted. What will D'Land get in return? I just don't see this move working out...
  13. Boak is a very good player. But I still haven't opened my Blease present from last christmas and this chrissy I'm promised two very good mids. Rivers is tradeable, there aren't many who are not... But Scully, Blease and Trengove/Morabito change the landscape a bit. Blease is the forgotten man, but I saw a little bit of him last year and he reminded me so much of Boomer Harvey... We'll see...
  14. That's no myth, we are all well-adjusted and functioning members of society. Isn't that right invisble reincarnation of Abe Lincoln? "It sure is, rpfc." See? We all agree.
  15. It was CJ. Son of Alan. And what a raging success that was.
  16. We just aren't as attractive as Carlton, being where we are. But things can happen in October-November-December that could mean the PSD pick is very valuable. 1 and 2 are off limits. 18 can be thrown around though.
  17. And do we remember what Bailey did when CJ turned up a the club after he had made the decision to leave? Many people on here felt Bailey was unprofessional and rude. I thought 'why would anyone turn up to training after making the decision to leave?' If you want people to value being at this great club you have to take a strong stand to those who don't treat this club with respect. (And by that I don't mean leaving, I mean turning up and running around with teammates and in colours you have decided not to play with anymore)
  18. I don't know. Would've said Garland was a hack early 2008 (in fact I did say that), look how that turned out... You're asking the wrong question - Does this 22 yr old, who has offered more than half a dozen on our list, deserve a place on our list? And I think the answer is yes. The next question is - Can we fit him in with our contractual obligations to other players? We'll find out...
  19. Yes and no. Minimum 3 deletions.
  20. I seriously doubt whether you actually care about arguing your point properly as you know full well I didn't 'argue your point.' You pick and choose and it's rather taxing to keep responding to a bloke who will not even concede the premise of my argument. The FD if they rate Valenti, did not need to elevate Valenti at the end of last year as he had another year on the RL as an option. They could just be using every rule to their advantage and elevate at the end of this year. It does not mean, necessarily, that they don't rate him.
  21. 45HG16 - I think you're great. But, mate, there is a draft every year. How could it possibly be more than 12 months? And it's a approx. a third.
  22. OMFG!! That's it. I am going to have the FACT that makes this a shallow draft as my signature. This is bloody ridiculous. It's an effing rule change!! There is nothing subjective about it. Around a third of the kids normally available, aren't available. Pessimistic? It just means that our picks are like this in a normal season (thanks to Old55) 1, 3, 27, 51, 75, 99. You can still find some talent in the first 4 picks.
  23. Do I have to have it in my signature? The draft in 2009 is made up of kids born in an 8 month range, every other year it is the full 12 months. Pick 60 next year would have a better chance than pick 50 this year of finding a talent. We done?
  24. Old55 is right. Pick 50 = 70-75 in a normal draft and I don't see how that speculative player would be a better bet than keeping Batram or elevating Valenti or Spencer. I'm not into turning over the list just to turn it over. You have to identify talent and objectively appraise it with the talent already at the club.
