Would not have a clue about assistants. This is inner sanctum stuff that we would know sh!t-all about. Williams isn't good enough. Why? West should be fulltime, Williams should be out. Why? Mahoney is not a good forward line coach. Why? These stupid statements, and others, have been made all year. But, by all means, speculate on Wayne effing Carey... I mean, come on...

Has no flaws. Is flawless.

Pick 18 is not first round. And it certainly isn't near the equivalent of a 1st Rd pick this year. I would give that and a player (depending on the player) very quickly. The only problem is Hawthorn have Pick 9 and no reason, other than their desire for a backman, to not give that pick to PA. I'm a cynic, and I think Burgoyne's management are using us as leverage against PA to get a deal over the line with Hawthorn.
-
So you don't rate McLean (understatement of the effing century... millenium even, and it's early!) but you would like Pick 6 for him... Right... What do we have? Sea Bass? They are mutated Sea Bass. Are they ill-tempered? Absolutely. Oh well, that's a start.
-
You can only go into the November National Draft if you are delisted before then. Contracts that are not deleted last until December when the PSD is. Burgoyne will be traded to Hawthorn, resigned at PA, or go into the PSD. Someone should be chatting up Pearce's manager.

Blasphemer!! Where is a pitchfork when you need one. I guess I could go to Bunnings. Place smells funny though, always come out of there with dust on my face...

If he is unlucky, he would be eligible for the RL I believe.
-
If you were to judge from that article who would get kept/promoted we would have 46 players on our list and Scully and Trengove would be going to Richmond and Fremantle respectively. Everyone got a good review.
-
Fair enough. I standby the 'emblem' and 'flag' = symbols of the 'MFC' part though.
-
The thread says most important but if you are looking for improvement in 2010 then that is a different question - 'Who are the best 6 players in 2010?' would be that question. Most Important in 2010 - Scully, Trengove, Watts, Grimes, Jurrah, Morton Best 6 in 2010 - Davey, Sylvia, Grimes, Morton, McLean, Garland

You mean "It's the emblem of the team we love." The team represents the emblem. The emblem of the club. I don't want to get into a semantical wordgame but I just can't see myself becoming too sentimental over players that make up 'the team we love' considering the lack of success we have had in recent years.
-
I'd want Thompson but the trade brought Beamer so it's cloudy. Jolly brought Dunn. TJ brought Grimes. Simmonds brought Craig Ellis. And Johnson brought smiles and laughter when he left... The two players I wish still were at the club are the two best trades.

IF he came to us at his age I would be disappointed, to say the least, if we couldn't get 4 years out of him. And $500k is under the odds for a player like him, especially at our club where we pay players more than they are worth because we 'gotta pay someone.' And for those that say he is too old - he is only a year older than Aaron Davey. And I expect that Davey will be around to enjoy the spoils of his hard labour. With Davey mentioned, it should also be noted that they are of similar quality - a quality will severely lack. Delivering into the forward line. I'm all for going after him and if getting him means 4 years over 3 years somewhere else then so be it. Picks 1 and 2 are off the table, and any trade we do should favour us as we have a rather large bargaining chip. But if he nominates a club, and it isn't us, you can forget it, they will do a deal.
-
Your sig says "The team we love," and I keep coming back to it because I have a problem with it. It should be "The club we love." Robbo had a go, however inconsequential, at your club and you side with him because of his exploits as a player. The 'team' means very little to me at the moment, they have won 12 games out of 66 and heaped a world of pressure on my club in the last few years. I know your at an age where the players are everything, but you will quickly learn that most of us don't barrack for players but the jumpers they get to wear.
-
The strips we have now are fine and when I went to the megastore at H/T the alt strips were just as popular as our traditional strip. All they have to do now is to fix our trad jumper and get the blue darker and the red duller.

Just those two or all the black fellas? Leadership is something to be treasured, but don't tell me LJ and AW will be lost without a steady hand to guide them unless you include CM, JW, AM, SB or any other white fella. Lucky we kept James McDonald or else Sam Blease and James Strauss would be rooted.

A lot more attractive? 10 times more attractive? We have been a better team this season...but we are still last. It's all relative to other teams, and we are still also near the bottom in terms of attractiveness to established AFL players. Again, you understand the words, but you don't comprehend what the words are saying.
-
Powerpoint has many attractive features but it doesn't have a 'make an organisation that has won 12 of the past 66 games look attractive to players looking to win a flag before their careers end' feature. We are not an attractive option for established stars of the AFL. I really think many on here cannot process that last statement. They understand, but they cannot comprehend.
-
The amount of top 20 or top 21 picks (a lot of hope in Maric) is only relevant because that is where most of the stars of the game are grabbed. We haven't been great at developing these good players into stars of the game in the past and it is ironic that our only 'star' is off the RL and and most exciting young player was nabbed in the PSD. But with two development coaches, or one-and-a-half with Williams being the midfield line coach aswell as DC with O'Donnell, we are desparately trying to improve in this area.
-
I know many on here believe we should pay him out but I think a contract is a contract. Would this informant know of any desire to move him on during October? My sources tell me that the FD would like to 'give' one or two away.
-
It didn't go over my head, I just cannot be effed writing "Pick 18 equals approx. pick 24 - 30 in any other draft with the normal 12 month age parameters." There is no hard science, nor have I claimed any. The draft is shallow because of the changes, it is shallow by approx. a third, and using rudimentary math (basically multiplying each number by 1.5) - 'Pick 18 is Pick 27.' It gives a simple and easy way to compare and judge a pick's worth.
-
Chairman Mao used to say "It always darkest... ...before it's completely black" Effing commie. Well said CB. Looking forward to a future worth the pain of the recent past.
-
You are missing the one name that will be the focus of midfield tags against every team we play - Aaron Davey. Opposition sides will only put more time into him, and it should allow others to shine, hopefully.
-
He got 24 touches, 6 clearances, 8 tackles, and an assist against Essendon at the Dome. He has been a lot better than the perception, and I suspect his Bluey results will reflect that.

Isn't this great? What has happened to Demonland in the last few weeks? The strikerate on here has certainly diminished, and 45HG16 and I have had a few laughs but it's frustrating to say the least. What can anyone say about the 'Kaiser Chief' generation? "It's cool to know nothing..."
