  1. But re-rookied? I don't think some of you are right to assume this conversation means we can pick up Jack's brother in December. I think it means we got Gawn and Fitzpatrick because Newton and Meesen agreed to go onto the RL. I think they'll be down at Casey next year.
  2. Is Gawn our Tippett? Very similar... Cough...Post 51...cough. I'm overdoing it, aren't I? Well, Tippett and Gawn. Same cloth?
  3. Hey, why the hate? Just giving prescient comments over here, just telling you how it's gonna play, just doin' my thing... OK, I'll stop now... But, hey, how good is our midfield going to be in a few years?
  4. Well, I found the thread. Got tied into a Demonland 'let's have a look at the talls we won't pick because we should have listened to rpfc when he said that getting the best available kids is the way to go early in the draft' thread. Gawn and Fitzpatrick can develop into the 'big lump' in the square. Fitzpatrick has 2 inches on Talia and Black, and Gawn has 5 inches on those two. At their height Talia and Black were never going to be anything more than a 3rd option behind Watts and Jurrah. Geelong has a midfield that grew up together and now our midfield has an enormous amount of talent from the past three drafts - Morton, Grimes, Maric, Blease, Strauss, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts, and Tapscott. That's picks 1, 2, 4, 11, 14, 17, 18, 19, and 21 invested in the middle of the ground. Remember - it's the midfield stupid.
  5. Scully - Skulls Trengove - JT Gysberts - BA (Best Available) Tapscott - JT's Mate Gawn - Fishin' Fitzpatrick - Chinless
  6. Well, well, is this BP recruiting the best player he thinks is available? In the end, BP didn't want to spend Pick 11 on a 3rd Forward which is what Talia would have been. Can the mods find my 'A Tall Order?' thread. I can't find it anywhere and I wish to gloat with a massive bump.
  7. And 'the marginals' care about whether we recruit Luke Ball? Or do 'the marginals' want to see the two, shiny new toys we get at 1 and 2? And 'the marginals' needs to be explained for those a bit fuzzy on what the hell you are refering to. I assumed 'fairweather supporters' but I can't be certain.
  8. Couldn't care less what they say. If we pick him up we will say 'he was the best option.' If we don't pick him up we will say 'he wasn't the best option.'
  9. If anyone's worried about drafting a player, it's simple. Scully has had OP before. Do your medical checks and trust the medical advice. I'm sure that's what they are doing.
  10. Alright, I am no expert but the rest of you losers have done one so I will too. Scully Trengove Jetta Gawn And now I am guessing... And using sentimental reasons... Grimes Patrick And with no sentiments but still extremely uneducated guessing... Reid Bollenhagen
  11. Gawn looks a likely type. Is he the big lump people want in our forward line? Would he be able to match it with the Ryder-type ruckmen? Does getting him at 18 mean we can get a mid at 11? I would say - Probably, No, and yes.
  12. Maybe. A lot of you don't think he can/will take Rivers' spot in the side. It's not groundbreaking news but I think that a lot of you are right.
  13. I can say Hoopla has provided a few posts that are actually worth reading. I can say nothing similar about what you have served up. Your grinding axe is nauseating.
  14. Extra innings it is. Yeah, yeah...glib. I couldn't give a .... . Keep going at it you two. Dollars to donuts - neither of you gets anything out of it.
  15. A George Michael concert for 'all of us?' I just shivered...
  16. I added my fill a long time ago. No need to dig up a fresh grave.
  17. If that is an illustration of wisdom, then being a wise man has a low acceptance level. What do you say, master? Things could change, padawan. Huh?! You're kidding me right? Here I am learning under a Jedi-fracking-Knight and that's all you got?! 'Things could change'?! Back to the thread - Jack Watts good player, Luke Ball also good player. Hope both play Melbourne.
  18. Wow. You have a problem with me don't you? Everything had been said and you just want to go into extra innings with HSOG. Believe when I say this, the guy will come back at you again and again and he will never see it your way. Like you, he is smart and stubborn, and there is enough butting of heads in this thread to illustrate where everyone stands on this issue. Why continue with a battle that sees no ground won or lost?
  19. Yeah. You changed your name. And, yeah, our midfield is awful, but, hopefully, not in a few years?
  20. Oh, jeez, BB59?! We had peace in our time! Peace in our time!
  21. I completely missed this thread last night. Wow. All this over a Tim Watson (!) puff piece on Sunday Night (!)? Some need tact, others need to read a little less into everything that is written on here.
  22. Nah, he's one of the good ones. He'll be fine. (If he's sober.) We have gone way off topic and I apologise if this is 'unreadable,' thread was done anyway.
  23. You're here to keep 45HG16 off the turps?! I guess he does need as much help as he can get...
  24. I'd read into it; we are too [censored] weak to make a effing decision. I can see you are trying to protect one of them, and by extension both of them, but I want my club to say that 'this player, as we saw it, was the best player, and this player the second best. Every year there is a Number 1 pick and Jack/Tom will have to deal with that pressure, and we are confident he can.'
