I realise that this is one game in but I liken Howe more (on how we moves) to a lead-up CHF/HFF. See him more as a smarter version of Miller with better skills. I think the Dunn, Bate and Newton experiment may be drawing to a close. Bate is paying the price for his lack of pace and fluctuating confidence, Dunn is paying the price for doing nothing for approx. 5 years of his stay here, and Newton is paying the price for being Newton. Moving back to Howe, if he can do that role, as he did very well last week, Watts is freed up to do whatever it is that Bailey wants him to do - hopefully not loose man in defence...

OD has been a bit depressed lately... And from that particluar post - I fail to see how us saying "Wonna we are going to cut you and move on" is showing the kind of ruthlessness that builds clubs and wins flags. Don't have a go at Nasher. These Dick jokes stroke Nasher the wrong way and that is fine. He would be stiff if you suddenly got your rod of derision out and Nasher had to wear a helmut. Stay out of that hole you keep falling into with these jokes or you might find yourself boned.

I don't think Tom is a liar. Seems to me to be a very honest player and person.

Bartram has claims to come in, but I don't think that Bate or Petterd would add much, in their current form, to a forward line that manufactured 26 scoring shots from 45 Inside 50s. I don't like the notion of 'Petterd played well last year, so he should come in.' To me that just screams "I place way too much importance on games against Collingwood because I am willing to restrain logic and think that form has an 18 month use-by date." Nicholson or Evans make way for Batram.

Pendlebury signed a 1 year contract. Hardly a great sign of commitment. He said he hasn't signed, and I will back the club to convince him that the MFC is where you want to be.
