  1. Yes, I am not certain they will be giving their biggest cheque to a 19 year old introvert... Probably a good thing they have two years to get players because they will most likely need it to get that marquee player. Essentially, it gives them access to two/thirds of the players as opposed to the one third that the GC had.
  2. Cop what? Nothing has happened to us yet... How about this: You can lose your nut if he goes, but until then try to keep it together people...
  3. Who gives a flying if it is destabilising. We are not going to win a final this season let alone challenge for top honours. And Rogue is right - this stuff happens all the time, hell, Watts didn't sign until after the season last year. I don't think it is fair to have a higher burden on Tom just because he is highly sought after. Melbourne fans are not used to having nice things, and we are showing it.
  4. Ok? I'm not saying you can't bring up what has happened in the years before the last 11 rounds... I am just saying that an entire season of judgement is fairer to everyone, no? Cause I could reverse your statement and say that the first 11 rounds were harder and therefore our 10th placement is rather good... Anyway, it's all arguable, and it's all subjective, and it's all about the effort rather than the results.
  5. The number of people on here that want to only play Scully when he has signed is starting to grow... This would be an embarrassment if we did this. This would be turning this saga into a distraction. Just respect his wishes and stop sounding like a paranoid girlfriend. He'll sign for the Dees in October because why would anybody want to leave?
  6. Getting rid of a coach mis-season is rushing when you don't have to get rid of a coach. And how long ago did you make your mind up? I make up my mind when presented with all the facts, the last 11 rounds of this season should be quite illuminating...
  7. I'm with OD and JCB. No need to rush this. Let's do this at the end of the season.
  8. Yes, but it becomes unsalvabeable if we don't get something out of the next month. Bailey would want to see at least three solid efforts in this next month against middling sides.
  9. Availability is one thing to look at when discussing our senior players. Form is another. And are they good enough? Because if they aren't good enough to command a spot in the 21, well they are not going to have much of an effect, are they?
  10. Oh, yeah! Un-confused. Evans out then.
  11. You're confusing me!
  12. The bolded players have been injured for long periods or have fallen out of form or favour this year. Rivers Bartram Davey Sylvia Moloney Jones Jamar Green Bate Dunn MacDonald Warnock Petterd Frawley Garland Grimes Maybe this is why we didn't compete at all well.
  13. I saw the Batram in for Nicholson as what many of us expected - the importance of Clint to the team. But I think Nicholson should get a full game at Casey (or AFL if they are keen on that) as he has played about 4 quarters of footy in three weeks. Jamar can sit in the goalsqaure for a few weeks. Petterd has done his time. Garland is required back there. Out - Gawn, Jetta, Evans If it were up to me, I would give Blease a few games. Not sure about throwing Tapscott straight back in. If so, Strauss out. Edited with Evans instead of Nicholson because you cannot take out what isn't in.
  14. Kicked a ripper 50m pass to Sylvia on the Members wing.
  15. Instead of fire, I think it is Gubby Allen on a chair with a match up to the fire alarm...
  16. I know many on here skim over AB's posts, as he is as subtle as meat mallet, but one above is a beauty. Graeme Allen is a brilliant strategist and incredibly deviant. I believe he is the cause of Schwarta's 'percentile' and Sheahan's views too. We need to not get carried away.
  17. He doesn't almost drop his head, its down and he sulks off to his position. His body language is terrible. He doesn't like body contact when he has the ball, and gives off indiscriminate kicks and 'Bruce-like' handballs to avoid being tackled. He lets Moloney rev them up at qtr time and three qtr time. He looks for frees. I hate to say it, but hasn't acted nor played like a captain. He, like Bailey, has an uphill climb to keep his position.
  18. Well said. Except for the representative idea. If they were on here every week, they would suddenly become part of the furniture and be treated as such. Cam Schwab comes on from time to time about specific issues. We all enjoy that. But we have no right to know the inner weekly workings of the club - negotiations and the like. Why not? Because this is a public forum and a properly run business requires some privacy.
  19. Guy's been injured and has little to play with ie. the 34 Inside 50s to play with on Collingwood. And it would be alot less if a second gamer Howe wasn't doing a very good impersonation of a CHF...

    Trade

You have been busy on your first day. Either you get busy posting, or you get busy dying... Damn right.
  21. Hooray!! LeBron didn't win! When are people going to learn... You can play two stars in one team - but they can't play the same role. I would trade out Dwade...
  22. You work from home?! You Bit-ka! If you got that, you are a huge Buffy fan.
  23. I'm very fair I would say. And I have an awful memory on here so that helps. As soon as someone changes their avatar they are new to me. It's odd. People got personal, bit disappointing, but H went a bit too far, and that's enough on that - it's over. We all move on.
  24. Very true. They have Gary Ablett.

    2008 Draft

Recruitment is a tough game. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself - have we assembled a list that can win a flag in the future? It's subjective and crystal ball gazing, but it's better than navel gazing...
