This will sound trite (when has that stopped me) but Gawn being injured for 6 weeks is the best thing for Brodie to get comfortable being our main ruck. Gawn will settle into the best back up ruck the game has ever seen and FF and our forward line will suddenly cause a bunch of headaches for the FD. We need to manage that group (Gawn, Grundy, JVR, Brown, TMac, Petty) to ensure we have headaches come September. *JVR managed due to age and Petty ‘managed’ due to him looking lost by sending him back to get confidence.

I would keep the trade period open for the first 6 weeks of the season and then slam it shut. Essentially, I would try to make sure the Tomlinson’s and Goldstein’s are tradeable when teams know they are superfluous which is AFTER the preseason and into the first few rounds and then close that ‘trade deadline’ for the season. I understand the desire for a mid-season period but I think it is too disruptive and will be under utilised that far into a season where teams IP is tantamount to state secrets.

I thought it was to be Harmes last year, and it might still be, but it also may mean Sparrow or Jordon leave because we simply can’t get them into the roles they are suited to. My opinions on this are well worn so I… will… continue that. Public transport? Centrality to Brunton Ave? Space and spec for admin? What are you valuing here? The ability of the random punter to do training reports? The ‘historical geographic’ importance of an area? The gormless need to have the FD and the Admin in the same building? This is a training and high performance facility. Of which the intent should be building athletes and driving styles of play that keep the AFLM/AFLW (maybe) playing groups competing for flags.
