  1. There is a great documentary series on Disney + called Fearless about the AFLW Season 2022 A. In the 3rd ep I think they go through this with the GWS girls. She has this desire to wear the normal jumper instead of the pride jumper and the AFLW says no, we want all our players representing support for the LGBTQIA community. So she sat out and tried to be respectful to the other girls in her team. It looked pretty tough for all concerned. It certainly wasn’t a leader of a church, that doesn’t trust women and doesn’t think gays should exist, suddenly leading an organisation and being asked that you can’t lead this club and lead and represent that church. The straw man argument du jour seems to be ‘what if a Muslim was a CEO’ and my response would be; is he/she a leader of a mosque? What are the views of that mosque? And lastly, why hasn’t a Muslim been a CEO? Probably because of the Boys Club saying that “their views don’t align with mainstream footy people or the community”…
  2. Sounds like it’s just that; stragedy…
  3. Pretty slight. He looks 2 years away from being 2 years away…
  4. Absolutely, but jeez the blinders were on a few people because of that run.
  5. Come on, Collingwood. All you need to do, is bend over. And take it.
  6. Yes, I feel like I am going insane when people say ‘we were amazing during that 10-0 run! What happened?’ We weren’t great. We won sometimes before the game was played, and played a great quarter or good half for most of that run. Plus we played teams that weren’t great. We had the same problems with a lack of pressure and little run and dare. Once we came up against better teams - bang, there’s the wall…
  7. Love the hypotheticals about those of other beliefs and the supposed hypocrisy. A CEO is a leader in the organisation and this ain’t no bank (to commit fraud with) this is a living breathing organism called a club that has 50k+ women as members, colleagues, and stakeholders, and recently stood up a women’s team that would be nowhere without the LBTQI community. You take on that role at a club and you have to accept that these are the people you represent and you have to lead and drive toward shared values. He doesn’t share the values of that footy club and was (magnanimously) given the choice of chairing that church or leading the club and he chose what he believes in. So best for all concerned. Oh and he ain’t a victim. His former clients at NAB however…
  8. I swear I made the voodoo doll look like Brad Scott… Close enough.
  9. No it wouldn’t be the death knell. What about a culture that knows a ‘heart and soul’ player is forced to play a periphery role due to generational midfield talent and letting him explore an opportunity to discuss a change so that he can test his mettle in the role he wants? Now that is a healthy culture.
  10. What is wrong with James wanting to ensure he gets the most out of himself? It doesn’t mean he is less of a Demon than others. Same with Hunt. We can’t keep everyone for years, coin, or role that they want - and there is no harm in some on their periphery not being happy and moving on.
  11. If we get 7 and WCE 1st pick next year - that would be great. It also won’t happen.
  12. Good on us tho, we have a plan of what our list is to be and we won’t be dictated to by other clubs [censored] us around.
  13. Aware of that, but if he is keen on Freo - they have not so far indicated they will provide fair value for him. Then he has a decision to make - go to WCE or pull back entirely and let Freo get there [censored] together next year.
  14. Angus has excelled when in midfield - Elite in 2018. Angus was very good as a defensive minded wingman in a flag winning year. Angus was in the extended squad for AA this year playing off a HBF. I am sorry but to compare Angus and James is unfair to James and I won’t do it. That is an unfair bar for a role player.
  15. The reaction on here is something else… Harmes has a role with little midfield time that the club may see as insurance we don’t need with Sparrow and Jordon and not ideal because he struggles in other aspects to his role on wing and in the forward line. This is ripe for a team hell bent on flags to look to move on to better position ourselves in other areas. Also James believes he is mid but we need outside run to compliment our bulls, and we have to find it and play it somehow and somewhere. If it does happen, it might be best for all parties.
  16. If Freo were so keen on Jackson and from years out - they should have prepared themselves to get him. We should tell LJ that Freo are unwilling to put together a package and it’s WCE or you’re coming back to Melbourne for a year. Not ideal for us, but two mid teen picks is just a terrible return.
  17. I think Flash has already learned something…
  18. Woey is on a wing, Chandler into the middle and forward where he is a chance in the AFL, Bedford and Laurie the same, JVR as CHF and occasional ruck. I don’t know what you are talking about.
