  1. I didn't know you were asking a question after 4 question marks, but I was convinced after the 7th.
  2. Yeah. Tell them how to play footy and it still isn't working for them - it sure ain't the coach.
  3. ...and a little bit disturbing. Was it your avatar or something?
  4. Yeah, I wouldn't bother with Magner and Couch. It really is dependent on who we can bring in and whether we get a PP but I would: Watts, Sylvia (UFA), Davey (RFA), Taggert, Tynan, Nicholson, MacDonald, Sellar, Jetta, Davis, Couch ®, Magner ®, Rodan, Gillies, Clisby ®, Stark ® That is 8 PL spots and 2 RL spots. With Hogan, ND2, ND17, ND35, ND55, and PSD2 as they 6 additions that are a baseline to bring into the club. I have left two spots for a FA, Delisted FA and/or Draft Assistance. If there is a better option out there better than Tynan and Taggert then pull the trigger there aswell. Both should be available for RL if desired. And if we have a spot available and we keep missing our targets then upgrading Clisby is an option.
  5. RF is a Foundation Hero, the staff are excited. And you don't have to question the veracity - I will vouch for RF.
  6. He spreads very well; Clisby, Jones x 2, Grimes, and Terlich are the only Demons in the top 150 Average Uncontested Possession winners. Clisby is =64th in the league and the best Demon (Matt Jones and Dean Terlich are 2nd and 3rd).
  7. No, but you make a good point DeeZee. The difference is you have a tangible to criticise where it is difficult to criticise the barren land that is our midfield.
  8. I think part of the swans 'no d-heads' policy was clamping down on the behaviour with existing players not simply avoiding d-heads in recruitment. Kurt Tippett case in point.
  9. It depends on whether they were going to use Pick 1 to trade for a star, and whether we could do the same thing... We don't have pick 1 as it stands now anyway.
  10. Well said, mephis. A similar argument can be made for the priority pick issue.
  11. Clisby can stay on the rookie list another season, they may elevate but there is that option.
  12. Again, Sheahan's rear end is where this comes from - Lynch is a player agent so he must be good at spotting talent...
  13. I do not think that this will happen... Mike Sheahan on OTC gave his 'Dream Team' that he must have thought about all of the hour before taping and Lynch was 'List Manager.' That's where this comes from - Mike Sheahan's rear end... Jackson has intimated that List Management should be overseen by the head of the FD.
  14. No doubt, but I don't think ND60 is the place to pick kids. I reckon it is a great place to pick a 22 year old from the state leagues on a one year deal. If you pick a teenager at ND60 - automatic 2 year deal - so that is a side argument but still relevant. So I would agree with a one year deal for Davis over a teenager at ND60, but I think we have seen enough to make a judgement.
  15. Yes, only one other poster has mentioned this I think. My ears did the same. Either contract issues, his ego in relation to PR, or the presence of his family is holding up the announcement.
  16. I love it when we delve into a semantic argument... My term, I have defined after a roundabout request for context and I stand by it. Objections noted and logged. Move on.
  17. That may be, in fact I am sure it is. But it doesn't lessen the fact that equating the contract situations of Watts and Hogan is misleading. One is out of contract at the end of next month, the other - the end of next month two years from now. There is no harm in context, unless you are trying to make a point that context will harm.
  18. Yeah, your analysis sort of hit a hollow point when you just refuse to take relaity into account with this post: Who would think that? After all that has been rumoured, mooted, and said aloud, that he isn't interested in the job? You could say that if you were on Lions-land - the Brisbane supporter website, but not the MFC. If he had no interest then he could have stuck to his tried and trusted "don't feel like it yet" and then go and become WCE's coach... And I don't think you are slow, but I do think that you are using extreme language to get the attention of posters. Congratulations...
  19. Ok, this is where I point out the misnomer of depth; Davis could not get near replacing Frawley. If we are worried about losing James then spend ND18 on a yong, tall defender. Davis would just be 'a body' from what I have seen and you can draft 'a body' from the VFL with Pick 60 of the Rookie Draft. I know that Viney and co. have therir 'four pillars' that touch on character, performance, etc but my own rule now is; you don't get on the list unless you can do something elite right now. Speed, marking, endurance, skills, hardness, clearances, etc - bring something to the table right now that could allow you to play a role at AFL level while developing as a player. And that way depth is created from the fact that all players on the list can contribute something right away.
  20. Hogan is as contracted as Fitzpatrick who re-signed last week - he's signed till the end of 2015.
  21. I just know from my research on the Uncontested Possessions vs the Margin that the aver margin was reduced by 31% in Craig's 11 games and the average differential in UPs by 50% - which is just a massive improvement. Basically went from averaging 182 UPs to 202 UPs while our opposition went from averaging 258 UPs to 238 UPs. And Craig is lauded for doing things at other clubs because he is a proven coach. He also doesn't run the bus over Mark Neeld because he is a good bloke.
  22. Because they are important players for our flag tilt? And now it clicks...
  23. Ok, I will make it easier: Frawley asks to leave. Hogan requests a trade to WA. That visceral pain in your gut you just felt? That's the difference I am talking about, that's what would have been on the cards if we had made another terrible decision with an untried coach.
  24. I put this in the Roos thread but I will put it here in the off-chance someone with connections reads this: DO NOT ANNOUNCE ROOS AT THE BLUEY, AND CERTAINLY DON'T HAVE HIM THERE. What a cringeworthy experience that would be to unveil a new era - at the celebration of the end of the old one... The masses will sign the song for the promise of what may come in the future. He will make a speech promising the same things we are always promised. A standing ovation simply for agreeing to wear the match day jacket (reasonably priced at the Demon shop...). Don't do it. Please.
