It's up to him if he wants to continue playing. Most footy players are going to feel the effects of their career later on in life - not just the obvious candidates like Bail. As an NFL fan - I hope we can reel in the damage, the rule changes in the AFL to protect the head are ahead of its time amongst football codes. It's an existential question in the US right now that might change the sport at its core or make it difficult to play it at all.

One thing I will say is that the trade period/DFA did get some bigger bodies, but Michie, Tyson, and Riley will require work too, they are not plug in and play like Cross and Vince. Which leaves one 'net' one of these with Sylvia gone.

Yeah, I doubt it. Not only are the odds stacked against Hunt, Harmes, and King making it, Georgiou looks nothing more than decent cover for a few games where Garland and/or Frawley are injured, and Jetta is a known jack-of-all commodity. I would have preferred to get some ready made role players in the late in the ND/RL rather than more projects... So many of our high end talent need work and attention. I just don't see the need to bring in low end talent that require just as much work.

I never had that view of Magner, it was an infinitesimal number of posters. Jetta and Georgiou have one year to impress enough for a spot on the main list or they should be delisted. Marmes and King should both be guaranteed two years of the RL or what was the point - I hope the club realises that King will require possibly three years on the RL and two years on the main list to get a return, otherwise it is a waste of everyone's time. I can see up to 10 possible deletions again next season.

I know we have picked up Vince, Cross, Michie, Riley, and Tyson but I would have liked to have seen a few RL spots to Banfield/Thomas/OtherBigBodiedPlayerWithAFLExperience... In regard to that we have Vince and Cross and lost Sylvia. I just thought a bit more preotection for the younger talent would have been advisable. Maybe they didn't see anyone of these types in the best 25.

Do 'we'? I rarely judge picks because I do not watch any junior football, I keep my thoughts on recruitment to; those that have played AFL before, and general musings on why a type of player would be selected above another. If you don't think I have made a good point, say so.
