  1. The most disappointing aspect was when we were 20 points up on a good team at qtr time and no one around could muster a clap for the display. Saw one portly ginger Dees fan in the City pocket of the Ponsford Stand stroking his terrible ginger beard and looking at his phone instead of cheering for that performance. Then I stuck around long enough to see the 15k Sydney fans making all the noise thank their team for winning a hard game. So disappointing. What the eff are we doing?

You are telling me this generational team that just won a flag is the reason no one is turning up? No, I am not shirking that. I was there tonight, as I was there for the great Bulldogs win, the strong Tigers win, and this wayward but tight loss. This is on us and our excuses for not coming to watch and making our home games into away games. Where half the crowd is cheering for the opposition. Against the Melbourne Demons. Who are on top of the ladder.
  3. What does this mean? What is May going to do? You know what we can do for Steven, Kozzi, Deakyn, Toby, and AMW? Live up to the words we are spouting and act in a way that values indigenous people and their contribution to the game. And that doesn’t include recruiting a repeated racist and a bloke that cared more about his own reputation than an individual he abused by constructing a public apology with the victim as a prop. So yeah, nah.
  4. Yes, if we get beaten it will be on the outside as we will win a higher share of contested footy and they will prey on us getting it on the outside. Petracca important as he can power away from inside to outside. Oliver can too but he will have Mills to deal with.

Excellent factoid. I am just letting a fellow traveller know that there is walk up available from this week.

    Yep

From this week, there is walk up for the MCC reserve if that is where you’re headed. Unsure of the rest of the ground.
  8. We will see. Flicking switches is a dangerous game tho. Sometimes it’s flickers for a bit, and sometimes it doesn’t come on when you need it to.
  9. He was a family friend. So many loved Ron; a big personality but very warm and generous.
  10. I am all for the merits of this, but this may go out the window when you watch Tom Papley running about tomorrow night…
  11. What a great mindset. Can’t help but think of DNA and Mark Williams as the inspiration for that mindset.
  12. I does make sense but whenever we inevitably ramp up there will players aggressive and those that are passive from how they have played the last 4 months. The problem then is holes emerging that make it easier to transition out of our front half. My mantra for coaching style and gameplan is whatever you do, everyone has to believe in it. It’s the connection I see as the main risk and I can see us dropping games in the last 6 rounds as we ramp it back up.
  13. If he was playing on the footy, his match conditioning may mean playing for Casey.
  14. If Geelong can function, Tassie can.
  15. Faulty- let the bloke have his joke. Everyone laughed in the metaphorical pub and now we are back to providing olddee technical assistance.
  16. Depends what your metrics for success are.
  17. Salem is a HBF. If he is right to play he should play for Melbourne.
  18. Perhaps your mate can be a professional and not call someone a coward in official proceedings. It is embarrassing to the sport and to himself.
  19. Is the intent of this survey to ascertain whether we think Salem should play in the Seniors this weekend? Because if it is; this survey will not get you that data..
  20. Doesn’t surprise me; we just look like we are waiting more and being more patient and letting teams ‘crash against the rocks’ so to speak and the tide goes the other way. My read, and of course I may be wrong, is that this a tweak for the season to save our legs as it is unsustainable to do for 25 games a year again. But I say this with a warning - flirting with one’s form and game plan comes with the risk that it is difficult to ramp up again. I understand we have other ways to kill teams but pressure is a final winning trait.
  21. Amen. As it is written; there shall be but one holy day in the west but only one. There will be but one holy day MC’d by a Basil but only one. So shall it be.
  22. Yeah, I had the same issue. His evenness is now part of his success. Really is perfect for the modern footballer. They don’t want a rollicking coach - they want a calm mentor with consistent messaging and empathy.
  23. Yeah, I just don’t think a paramount/10 will not have any FTA games.
  24. Ch7 have been awful with their coverage of the game. Outside of ‘broadcasting’ of the literal game - Fox actually have a myriad of shows to supplement their coverage of the sport, even with the womens game. Ch7 just pay lip service to that side of it with pathetic attempts to engage with Roaming Brian after games, zero analysis on non- Friday night games, a terrible show with Adam Cooney that much cost more in rent than in talent post Friday night. There is no talking footy or GameDay anymore. Ch7 and Free to Air have lost me - I would prefer to purchase Paramount and watch through there. They have taken it for granted and their late fixes with the commentary (Nicholson, Matt Thompson, Daisy Pearce) is too little too late. And I know that some older people and those in regional areas with bad internet may be impacted but there will still be the fri, sat night games, and the Sunday arvo game to watch on FTA.
