  1. I don’t disagree. Although when I say change I mean something like ND14 so it’s a first round pick but ‘change’ as far as I am concerned - it’s unlikely to unearth a star. Thats just an aside - we have to find a way to keep Jackson and Oliver as priority 1 and 1A. Then we will have to make decisions on IF we can keep Brayshaw, Harmes, Etc - our good players that are part of the fabric but that also easier to replace than our galaxy of stars; 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 13, and 15.
  2. Also, Mitchell has won 3 games so let’s not raise our glasses too early… We may be coronating the next SuperCoach but let’s not rule out a Red Wedding scenario.
  3. Really upset my hatred for Geelong is not as notable as Jaded’s.
  4. Live; the QB at the SCG. TV; the Bulldogs game in Rd19 last year. Surreal. Also, the SCG is a concrete mess that needs demolishing. They must hate Bill O’Reilly up there because that is the ****test stand I have sat in.
  5. We also were on our heels in both games. We’re more likely to smash a good team than we are a bad team because of that more intense mindset. We are eminently beatable BUT you have to daring, you have to execute AND you have to have high end talent in all lines to keep us from ripping through you.
  6. I am worked up? Ok. And I said I would prefer you keep it to yourself; entirely your prerogative to make it known how you feel about something like this. I, and plenty of other Demons, love what we are doing for those whose land always is and always was. rp
  7. Would love if Bedford could keep his spot.
  8. The main reason I would prefer you not bother comparing this to Garry Hocking changing his name is because it trivialises something that means more in the positive to some than it does to you in the negative. You can call it precious, or call it manners, or whatever, but I just don’t see the need to make it known that you don’t like something that is meaningful to a group of Dees fans that haven’t been embraced in the past.
  9. Great initiative. I know the reaction of some but hope they keep it to themselves. Not my favourite of the alternative jumpers but watching that video explains why - it’s telling a pretty involved story of the club, the land, the G, and the links between all three. It’s going to be busy.
  10. Why don’t people check the context of posts? They assume I was talking about the effing weather but I am actually talking about selling games to neutral venues that make it easier for clubs like Port to beat us.
  11. We play Port in Alice soon… so yeah, glass houses and all that.
  12. Lever is sore still - right foot. Still think it is his plantar fascia issue from the way he was carrying himself.
  13. Just go to the game.
  14. We are not getting two top 5 picks for Jackson. We may get a top 3 pick and some change - if you don’t think that any club would pay that for someone who may become the best player in the game - you are not paying attention. Try to enjoy the year but convincing yourself clubs are not going to go after him hard is misguided and weird.
  15. I am comfortable bringing back players off just the one training session but they may be quite ill. Really hard to say at this early stage - if we have more cases then this becomes another week or uncertainty. Good opportunities though, and I really like all our replacement players that came in. One thing I will add though - you can’t replace your best players: 11, 5, 13, 7, 8, 15, 1, 3, 10.
  16. The last 11 scores were points - 7 to Port and that’s the game. Lets hope the folks at Paramount didn’t catch that one…
  17. Mid-table mediocrity destined for the Cats. Mordor holds no fears for man east or west. The chosen one broke the curse late on the year 2021 and now the forces of light have reigned free.
  18. What a distance this club has come to deal with this week and still win and win well enough against a team we just don’t ever feel comfortable playing. I am a bit worried of a similar build up to the St Kilda game and who knows how the players with Covid will recover. But Dunstan, Melksham, Bedford, and TMac will be better if they are to remain and they all were solid. This is why ‘stars’ are important - Gawn, CP5, Oliver, and May just finding a way.
  19. Freo have a lot of ‘replacement players’ but are doing team things. There is a player with the most appropriate of names; Meek. In name, and play from what I have seen.
  20. What? He’s 21 and a chance to be the best player in the game in about 3 years time. He is exactly the type to rebuild around.
  21. Hawks may actually play their normal game against us which may mean an open game. They are a real chance.
  22. That risks next week against St Kilda… odd few weeks coming up I think
