Fremantle look very good. They are fast and play team defence. Their midfield is not as good as ours but it’s talented enough to get the ball and use it against anyone. Up there with Brisbane now IMO.
  2. We are moving away from the MLB Network/NBA League Pass with the AFL app no longer streaming games as they did a few years ago. And this would be the vehicle for what you are describing - broadcast aggregation and choice. Were not getting that. That would be a dilution of the market and evidently something that the AFL doesn’t want to fight for.
  3. Lol. That’s the point. Murdoch will have to pay if you want to pay him to watch the footy. Crowds might go back up again

That’s abuse of the Queen’s English. Tex should apologise through a video with the Queen awkwardly sitting behind him

This may be rhetorical but a handful this year. We can carry him against most.

I think if the finals started next week, TMac would be in the team - but they don’t and he is not. Ideal world - we would not have both our key forwards as 30 year olds with long careers behind them. So Sam gets more opportunities to earn a place in this team.

No he shouldn’t. He is an established senior player who was a performer in a premiership 6 games ago. I don’t know why you are so obtuse and naive with Brown.

Maybe he is playing a defined role that he will replicate in the seniors?

    Makes sense to me

Would you like to bet the motel room you are now living in?

Yes, let’s wait until then for well thought opinion and also on whether Demonland takes @WERRIDEE’s house as agreed earlier in the week if Brown is playing. But my bet is Andy needs to go and organise the locksmith

Yes we do. Lever was out earlier in the season on the quiet and pulled out ‘at the last minute’. We’re a footy club, not saints.

I doubt that that team is set
although it confusing and it leads one to think that we are playing all three tall fwds.

Yeah, he is signed through to end of 2023.

Not if the price keeps going up

David King has pointed out that they have 5 mids who dominate the time in the middle. So that may be a depth issue or a ‘hardening’ and ‘resilience’ tactic but it means that fatigue from Walsh, Cripps, Kennedy, Hewett, pittonet, and Cerra will arrive more than most teams - especially when not used to that workload. We have 3 that have played 80% or more in the middle which I would guess to be CP5, CO13, and JV7 - hardened stars.
  18. Lol. Secrets given to the masses?? The other clubs have the vision.
  19. They should be professional and that is a seperate issue. The ‘emotions of an umpire’ is a bit rich, it’s how they subjectively see something and that is what a blanket ‘demonstrative dissent’ rule seeks to ameliorate. If you throw your arms out after a decision has been made by an umpire - you are pinged or a 50m is applied. This removes the subjectiveness (and the emotions).

There are only rusted on supporters on this site, and that is evidenced by your patronage during the Neeld years. This was not meant for individual criticism (especially for those on this site) but collective reflection. Crowds are down and I thought we would weather it through our generational team. Alas not.
  21. Aren’t they all ‘to be interpreted’? And, again, appealing is different because they are asking the question, not belittling the decision. If an umpire pays a free AND a 50 for appealing then I have little doubt it will be pointed out constantly and clarified for your benefit.
  22. That’s not what I have read/heard. Appealing is different to remonstrating, and remonstrating is demonstrating dissent. Umpiring is in an awful state up and down the leagues and something had to be done.
  23. I have had coaches say (and have said myself) - “just don’t say anything to the umpires” for yeeaaarrrrrssss
But of course the next thing said was ‘unless you are standing around, then you can quietly whinge like a [censored] in their direction - now get out there and get the footy!!’
  24. How do you ‘APPEAL for a free AFTER the decision’? Its just whining to the umpire and if it universally applied then it makes it easier to officiate. If you GESTICULATE, the umpire won’t EQUIVOCATE.
  25. Mark Robinson is confused and steadfastly against this rule interpretation. That should be enough for all of us to reflect and see the benefits of the new interpretation and it’s necessity for the game’s future. Just don’t tell the umpire to look at the screen and whine like a little [censored] when you give away a free.
