Listening in on the coaches... focus on forward half turn over, territory and contest for Sestan.

At the ground, wind very slight breeze

My tips Power - although i did not see the changes, at home they are still formidable and overall probably are in better form but Blues will know they are very capable of winning this game. Doggies - they looked great vs Sydney for most of the match, Pies injuries mounting. Hawks - form building, at the G i think they take the chocolates. Weagles - at home are a problem Puddy tats - ez Dees - in a slog, but we have the weapons Suns - At home are dangerous

Could be worth an experiment, i think it is much easier to develop HBs. With Andy Moniz pushing for selection, i would like to see talent 'graduate' into the midfield. Although, the experiment did not work with Rivers and may not work with McVee.

Yes and no, Dunstan was in some ways a very important recruit for us and I don't think he was ever really expected to play in the 22. It's more likely we will have a punt on a younger player we see upside in, but i don't think we'd be amiss to strengthen our seconds.

Fierce, ruthless 1 on 1 defender, brilliant intercept and contested mark, best rebounding big man easily. Other KPD only do one or the other, Sicily and Darcy Moore can rebound but aren't as good pure defenders. Sam Taylor and Weitering are great defenders, marks and interceptors but they're much slower and don't really rebound. Love Maysie absolutely deserves another AA jacket this year.

We have shopped Tommo and TMAC around previously without any interest, not sure what will change this year
-
It's very clear at VFL level we are missing 1 or 2 big bodies around the ball after the retirements of Dunstan and Moose. Extra support at VFL level will help our younger players grow and will improve Casey overall.

I think Battle can command a key position in the backline for sure. He will look better in our system too.

No change 🥱

Carry over emergency

Windsor barely touched the ball and also had 0 tackles. Think we chose to move the ball through the corridor more than the wings today.
-
My thoughts... Petty did not play well but his leads were ignored a lot. Overall the forward line still is figuring out how to work together. McAdam missed some chances but tackled well, gave good pressure and crashed packs to spill the ball. ANB is a certified stoppage midfielder now, not just a half forward. As others have stated, Langdon at HF with hunter and Windsor on the wings provides a unique and dangerous look. Viney was ferocious. TMAC has dukes. Tomlinson was also great.

Lol we are at 28 points, Port at 32 - enjoy the win!

Tommo is slow!!

Casey ball movement looking the best it has all year.

I completely forgot about this, indeed we scored huge numbers from stoppage and ran dry on scores from turn over. Maybe Goody is turning the game plan around already 🤔
-
Absolutely, they whooped us in a number of areas, especially centre bounces. But we missed Langdon bad, and with Brown they just waltzed the ball outside d50. Players like hunter will clog up the ground and it make much harder for the opposition to move the ball.
-
I think this is a very good summary of his strengths. He is a great endurance runner but lacks burst and can rush his disposals, kicking especially. But we clearly lacked the defensive positioning last week so I think he'll fill a big role this week.
-
I like the changes, team balance looks much better. Hope Woey starts and hunter is sub, Woey deserves the chance to lockdown a spot.

Port must really dislike Teakle, they recruited 2 rucks in the off season - bit suspicious for that reason but fills a clear need.
-
It also questions the 'premiership window closing' narrative, as we have a great crop of young players ready to make massive developments over the next 3-5 years. He is tracking great, as are a bunch of others.

The amount of pressure the fans put on JVR, and now Jefferson is a bit silly. Jake Waterman has exploded as one of the games best forwards only now, after years being a middling prospect. Patience is required.
