  1. Did he also do a job on Lachie Neale?
  2. First quarter was an absolute disgrace. A combination of arrogance, laziness, disorganisation and Clarkson’s sugar hit. No issues with the last quarter. Goodwin put the cue in the rack at 3 qtr time by giving Gawn, Viney and Trac major bench minutes.
  3. Definitely some Clarko factor in that first quarter and a half. Therefore a good response to have the 4 points effectively sown up at 3 quarter time, unlike Collingwood who couldn’t maintain their momentum yesterday. Good coaching resting the stars in the last quarter, albeit at the cost of percentage. Fair to say we’ve done our service for football by playing in Hobart 5 times since 2016, 6 if you count the fact that we were also scheduled there in COVID 2020. A little more than Collingwood and Essendon who have travelled there about zero times in that period.
  4. Glad they acknowledged it.
  5. Seemed happy and jovial post siren but that might be his way of coping with bad news.
  6. Freo by 53 and ruining Brisbane’s percentage are more my requirements.
  7. Yeah you guys are right. It never occurred to me that Collingwood could actually lose their week 1 final at the G against a Port or Brisbane but the way they’re going who knows? A temporary form slump or something more?
  8. If we finish second we’re guaranteed not to travel at all in the finals. Even if we lose week 1. Assuming Collingwood finish first.
  9. “I think we’re the most dangerous side in the top 8” Chris Scott, in 45 minutes time.
  10. I actually enjoyed the round 4 2021 game just as much as the other two wins over Geelong that year. That was the day we arrived as a serious player in 2021.
  11. If Rhys Stanley has an early shower then the Cats might be in with a sniff. Been an absolute disaster tonight and thrashed by a 3 game ruckman.
  12. And yet when we played them down there in round 15, they played the last quarter of their lives.
  13. Geelong. Ruining Melbourne supporters weekends since 1897. Our top 2 chances will blow up in smoke if port win.
  14. Fun fact: Round 11-16: 39.63 Round 17-20: 52.39
  15. Yes, you can only by recent results but for some reason GWS (and Freo) have troubled us here and there over the last 3 years. The bad news for them is their magical run of form is going to end at some stage, as it has for Port.
  16. Imagine if St Kilda didn’t take Billings the pick before Bont in 2013 Imagine if St Kilda didn’t take McCartin the pick before Petracca in 2014. Peak mid 2010’s St Kilda drafting.
  17. I think we broke them last week.
  18. I can only imagine the players are in fantastic nick, relatively speaking for August. You wouldn't imagine Goodwin and company would be that stupid to allow history to repeat.
  19. Tommo once again dropped...
  20. Take your point, particularly your last one in regards to Adelaide possibly beating Brisbane on a 6 day break coming back from Perth. However, I'd much rather Brisbane lose this week irrespective of Freo's draft pick standing. I really don't want us to get into the scenario where a random Charlie Cameron goal in the last quarter of round 24 knocks us out of the top 2 on percentage. Best to keep it simple and maintain a 1 game buffer on them if at all possible rather than scoreboard watching for the last 3 weeks.
  21. I get the humour in your post, but we need to get a game clear of the Lions for insurance purposes, not just percentage.
  22. Assume the ride is out of commission this weekend? People surely want Freo to win so we can go ahead of Brisbane on the ladder....right?
  23. Not sure if mentioned but Fritta bagged 6 Frankfurts against North in Hobart, 2021.
  24. Echoing the above concerns about not bringing in Grundy against 2 professional rucks in Goldy and Xerri. I'm not saying we're going to lose this game in the slightest, but the last time we played 1 ruckman vs the oppo's 2 ruckman was against Essendon which coincided with clearly our worst performance of the year. Having said that: 1) Port and Brisbane only play 1 ruck and Collingwood might elect to play with just the one if they don't want to continue with Cox. There's bigger fish to fry than a round 20 game in Hobart V North and worrying about 2 rucks. 2) It will be an absolute media circus if we bring in Grundy for one game just to face off with a 29 gamer in Xerri, only to once again drop him.
  25. Haven't beaten North in the month of August, in a non pandemic/lockdown year, since 2006.
