  1. Geez at this rate we're going to have a belter of a side for the Roos game. Assuming no more injuries, we should have McLean, Whelan, Robertson, Petterd and Rivers all back. Pity thats the only Victorian game I can't get to this year. Best case scenario for Rivers is that they didn't want to subject his back to a 3-4 hour flight. Worst case scenario is that its something way more sinister. Think Whelan and Petterd will play but they'll save Brock for the Roos.
  2. I'm just convinced he hasn't got it. Skills are reasonable but he just doesn't have anything that the average VFL player hasn't already got....IE - STAMP HIS AUTHORITY ON AN AFL GAME!!! He played 2 fairly good games against Wet Toast and St.Kilda in rounds 9 and 10 last year, but then went missing from rounds 11-15 during our winning streak. Then when called up to a round 19 injury depleted side against Sydney, he struggled big time with 8 or so touches and was never seen again for 2006. Now 2007 arrives and he teases us with 2 supreme performances in the NAB Cup and rightly earns a round 1 gig. However his first 2 games for the season was un-AFL like (averaging 10 touches) and the club had no choice but to drop him. Its simple really. His round 5 performance against Sydney was poor as well. You just can't keep throwing games at blokes that are not up to it.
  3. Hasn't got what it takes to be an AFL player and is justifiably not getting games after a promising pre-season. Case closed.
  4. Trapper arguing with an umpire....god no
  5. Anyone who saw Frawley at Princes Park V Richmond in March knows he's got what it takes. He'll be a solid defender who's capable of running the lines. Will debut in about 3-4 weeks if he's Sandy form is promising.
  6. They might do a Dean Rioli and (LITERALLY) carry him over the line for the last 2 games of the year. Would be disapointing if he couldn't make 200 considering how close he is.
  7. Goodbye Byron. Thanks for the brief memories. I think its fair to say that his heart wasn't in it for his third club.
  8. You'd say Holland will get about 5 weeks for this one, going by the Jeff Farmer incident. I'm actually not to fussed on this one, it could've been a much worse (as in better MFC) player to front.
  9. No of course we can't have these darling doggies on report <_<
  10. I meant fair as in not being Cam Mooney, Des Headland, Broadie Holland, Fraser Gehrig etc....cheap shots for the sake of cheap shots. I don't mind players being serial pests as long as they don't go out snotting blokes like the above named.
  11. I'll be happy with 7 wins this year...and I genuinely think thats where we'll end up with. 7 wins will traditionally get you around 13th and therefore pick 4 in the draft. I think this is the perfect mix. We provide our supporters with some joy for the remainder of 2007 by winning exactly 50% of our games, re-creating that important winning mentality and getting the fourth hand into the lucky dip. I can't be arsed rocking up to games every week (even though I will) and losing, but I do agree that finishing 9th or 10th may do more harm than good.
  12. Copped a reprimand in 05 or 06 for a heavy bump. May have been in Adelaide. Having said that, for a tagger who gets under everyone's skins, he does appear to be a fair player.
  13. **Looks at thread and shakes head** So far we've had Judd and Pav coming to the Dees. What next...J Brown.
  14. I agree to some extent that finger pointing is a waste of time. However while the original authour of the thread was blaming Davey (who was our best player) I thought Neitz deserved to be the gun after smacking Harris after a goal at a crucial time...this was on top of a very ordinary game from the skipper.
  15. If you want to blame someone blame Neitz. Worst game of his career, and that free he gave away after we kicked a goal was a disgraceful act from a skipper.
  16. I can't wait for YM's preview V West Coast next week I reckon were a sniff this week anyhow.
  17. WB 3.2.20 5.8.38 8.9.57 13.15.93 Melb 2.6.18 6.7.43 11.9.75 14.12.96 Neitz 4, Davey 2, Bate 2, Yze 2, Jones, Godfey, Green, Johnstone Best - Johnstone, Jones, Yze, Brown, White, Neitz Crowd - 24,643
  18. Even though Jones is eligible, I think they'll favour the new kids of 2007 and the fact that he already got his nomination last year.
  19. The crystal ball is awaiting the pending suspensions of Sylvia, Davey and Pickett, and also the injury clouds over Bruce and Petterd.
  20. If Byron gets weeks, it wouldn't surprise me if he calls it a day. He'd figure that the AFL has conspired against him (twice) and effectively ended his career as one of the AFL's last hardmen of the game. The bump he did 2 years ago (6 week suspension) was fair enough but if this tackle gets him in strife...then why should he bother plying his trade anymore. Clearly, he is out of shape and is a shadow of his former self. An example being when he ran down the centre with the ball and got pinged for holding the ball yesterday. I doubt very much whether the desire is there either.
  21. I'm sure McDonald would be up there too.
  22. I think the authour of this thread wins the comp. 16,266 was the official figure.
  23. I like that comparison. 24 touches and 14 marks in game number 2. Could be a NAB Rising Star nomination this week.
  24. Sylvia will either get offered 1 week or reprimand. Can't defend that one. It was just plain reckless. Sylvia doesn't have an AFL record but copped 1 week in the VFL in 2004. Davey will also get either 1 week or a reprimand. Can't defend that one either. The main concern was that he left the ground and therefore that constitutes a charge. The impact was low so that will help him. Copped a reprimand in 2005, so has a record unfortunetly. If offered 1 week, I'd take it. Pickett is the one they really should contest, if the tribunal give him weeks. It was just a hard solid tackle. Its not Pickett's fault his one of the hardest players in the AFL. Unlike Headland, he didn't blantantly throw hay-makers towards the opposition. However I reckon if Pickett was still playing for Port and he did that to one of our blokes, Demonland would probably go into melt-down.
  25. Why the hell are people suggesting dropping Bruce? Get off the grass. With Davey, Sylvia and Pickett all to be rubbed out this week (according the experts at channel 7), I don't think we have the luxury of dropping anyone.
