  1. 1) Highly jealous if ND won a flag (I'm a very selfish MFC fan) 2) You would imagine he was the problem if we have a successful year. Or it may be the case of beginners luck for next years coach followed by a reality check in year 2 - Just like Daniher had in 98/99.
  2. Top of the ladder. Then a late season collapse, knowing our luck
  3. I was reading in the Herald Sun today that Melbourne and Geelong are the only club since 2000 to not have a player win a b&F twice since 2000, and its fair to say this trend may well continue this year. Is this a sign of a club without any genuine A grade players? No consistent stars from one year to the next? Well anyway I decided to make a dummy 'odds market' to demonstrate how hard it actually is to nominate this years possible winner. BBP's Market for the 2007 MFC Best and Fairest Bruce - $5.00 White - $5.50 Green - $5.75 McDonald - $5.75 Jones - $6.50 Bell - $7.50 Bate - $9.00 Davey - $11.00 T Johnstone - $11.00 (had a purple patch in rounds 6-8) McLean - $13.00 (but will firm as the season goes on) Godfrey - $15.00 Sylvia - $17.00 Caroll - $23.00 Ward - $27.00 Neitz - $35.00 P Johnson - $50 Petterd - $50 Brown - $50 Wheatley - $50 Robertson -$65 Holland - $75 Miller - $101 Bizzell - $150 Whelan - $250 Yze - $301 Moloney - $575 Dunn - $750 Rivers - $750 Jamar - $1001 Frawley - $1501 C Johnson - $2001 Garland - $4001 Pickett - $5001 Ferguson - $7500 So who do you have your money on in one of the most even B & F betting markets on record!!!
  4. I'm afarid he's not up to AFL standard. The rest I can understand your angst.
  5. Good night Byron. Thanks for the memories.
  6. If we don't win on Friday night (or at least go down fighting) - then what a total and utter lack of respect shown by all players of the MFC.
  7. Song should be: Arctic Monkeys - Scummy. A pumped up song for a pumped up win!
  8. If we'll lose the next two games, I think Daniher will either quit or the club recommends he leaves. Losing to Carlton would be the last straw. I'm predicting Mark Riley to be coaching us by the Brisbane Lions match.
  9. Have to be Yze. Although he's had a few years head start on Bruce, Johnstone etc...
  10. I understand it will more than likely be Mark Riley once ND departs in August. Willo is far too inexperienced to take over the reigns.
  11. Post of the day.. Sums up the situation beautifully.
  12. I'm an advocate for persisting with blokes like Ward, Brown, Godfery, Holland, Yze, and Pickett EDIT - ** Poster thinks he may have gone too far with above comment **
  13. I'd actually argue we're the worst team in the competition. Melbourne have a worse percentage than Richmond and have won less quarters than Richmond.
  14. Some would argue yes, others like me would argue that the kid's been running around like a headless chook for 2 or 3 weeks and needs a reality check for Sandy for a couple of weeks. Then he returns. He hasn't been terrible but needs a confidence booster for Sandy.
  15. Godfrey will be the last bloke they'd drop these days. Dutchy should be used as insurance if we're failing up forward or back.
  16. Assuming Neitz is out (we all know their resting him for 2 weeks so he can play his 300th in Melbourne): In - Chris Johnson (unfortunetly as I don't rate him), Newton, Out - Yze (inj) Frawley (needs some solid game time at Sandy) Whelan's probably injured (whats new), Dunn could possibly come in, Pickett needs 2 more chances and thats it.
  17. I havent, and I've been watching the Dees religiously since 1990.
  18. Great !! guaranteed win for Essendon Nathan Brown one week Rama the next week. What did Melbourne do to deserve this season from hell (Great effort for Rama to come back though)
  19. Big game this Friday night V Essendon. The major positives about this match are: * We can't play any worse than last week, * McLean can't play any worse than last week, * Pickett starting to sweat off the alcohol * Juice Newton may make his debut, * Dees usually respond after a shocker. So who's going? What's your non Telstra Dome excuse/reason if you're not? Crowd? (I'm tipping 39,000....30,000 EFC fans, 7,000 MFC and 2,000 neutrals) Can we get up?
  20. He should be judged on the entire season thus far, and especially the Richmond game. 2-10 for a perceived finals aspirant (at the start of the year) is a disgrace and its time to announce the end for Daniher. You can say that the early losses were attributed to injuries and that its unfair to blame ND for those losses. However unfortunetly AFL footy is not fair - and his time is up. Just announce it now, and the club can openly seek a new coach over the next 3 months - before trade time.
  21. I actually referred to the Richmond game in my opening line...hense the 'as well as' Geelong, St.kilda games etc.. further down. You can analyse the situation and offer excuses such as injuries etc... but the man in charge of the failed operation has to go. Whether it be now or in September. I have a feeling ND would've privately conceded his coaching career was effectively over at MFC after last Friday night's performance. Therefore announcing that ND and MFC would be parting ways at the end of the year would hardly be a shock to the system for ND. Don't feel too sorry for ND. He's old and tough enough to look after himself. AFL's a cut-thrope business, and he chose to pursue a career in it.
  22. Its not fair for the performance that Daniher's Demons offered to the members and supporters. As well as the: St.Kilda game Geelong game Fremantle game Sydney game West Coast game Works both ways.
