  1. Trengove will probably just get a fine. Those segments on the AFL website always over estimate the penalty. Gary Lyon on SEN this morning mentioned that the club had told Vince to pull his head in with respect to his onfield behavior, and that was before the weekend! I'd imagine they'd be beyond livid with him now and will probably keep this in mind during list management discussions.
  2. If Lynch got on the plane (which he did) then he'll be playing. No way would they fly him all the way up there and not play him.
  3. Absolutely you can. It was 2 weeks after we played Darwin and we were still stuffed.
  4. GWS beating Sydney is the absolute number 1 priority this week. Sydney also have Geelong and Adelaide away, so if they lose all those games they'll struggle to actually make finals despite being the hottest side in the league. Tonight I'm really not sure what is better for us?? My first gut feel is I want St Kilda to lose as they seem to be our direct competitor this year, but Essendon have a soft run home.
  5. So I'm not aloud to argue a point like every other Demonlander does?
  6. Hope he's hugging a lot on Saturday night.
  7. I'm absolutely staggered Lynch is playing. You would've thought Darwin would be the last venue they'd risk him given the oppressive humidity and the fact they have a massive game against Geelong 6 days later. Hope the risk backfires on them.
  8. So explain to me why we lost to a dead and buried Essendon in 2015 and faded horribly against St Kilda last year, both games after Darwin. We were vastly improved in 2015 and 2016 compared to the earlier years in those list of losses, and I strongly believe we would've won those 2 games had we not played in Darwin the week before.
  9. I thought we cleared up the spelling of his name circa 2010-2011??
  10. Even so, a lot of those losses were way over the odds, even by our lowly standards pre Roos days. Fancy losing to a highly mediocre North of 2013 by 122 points and barely managing 25 points for the entire game! Or losing to Essendon who's season was dead and buried the week before by the 4-9 Saints by 110 points and Hird was a dead coach walking that week. Or let's flash back to last year when we were a half ok side. We played the Saints after Darwin at Etihad and conceded 7 goals in a row either side of half time and also the final 5 goals of the game. We're as flat as pancakes after Darwin and my list of losses perfectly illustrates our struggles IMO.
  11. I Hope so. If we come out flat next week V's Port and lose badly, then that's the final straw for me. Let's take a look at the results the week after all our Darwin trips: 2010 - Carlton 41 points loss 2011 - Hawthorn 54 point loss 2012 - North 54 point loss 2013 - North 122 point loss (LOL!) 2014 - Geelong 66 point loss 2015 - Essendon 9 point loss (after Essendon copped a 110 point loss the week before amidst the Hird crisis) 2016 - St Kilda 36 point loss (completely ran out of gas in the last qtr)
  12. Good news. I doubt either will play this weekend, but good signs that they'll be available Vs Port.
  13. No it was the Mitch Cleary who said Weideman would be in against Carlton.
  14. I think Bruce was the fill-in that day for Gil's little brother who thankfully for everyone is on holidays.
  15. Unfortunately we lost that game to Brisbane in Darwin by 19 points.
  16. Demons skipper flags a miracle comeback Ben Guthrie July 12, 2017 11:08 AM http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-07-12/demons-skipper-hoping-to-get-back-early
  17. He said he was hoping for a Port return but in reality it sounded as though he had no idea when he's back. I would say best case scenario would be a return against GWS in round 20, as they initially said it was 4-6 weeks on the sidelines. I'm fully expecting the AFL website to make a headline later this arvo - "VINEY AIMING FOR AN INCREDIBLE RETURN V'S PORT". I reckon they're not being transparent with Watts. I'm buying into the rumour that he tore his hammy at training before either the West Coast game or Sydney game. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for a further 2-3 weeks.
  18. It's a shame Mitch White chose that weekend to stay off the turps.
  19. Jump on to seek.com.au and see what's out there for next year.
  20. Gives me hope for Sunday that we still have our full strength defense against THE lowest scoring side in the league. As someone else said, they can play T Mac down back and have Pedo and Hogan (if he plays) as our key talls. They'll beat us in the midfield battle but hopefully our back 6 will have a clear victory and provide great rebound to our mids and forwards.
  21. O Mac must stay. The one department we are at full strength at the moment is our defense and O Mac has been a big part of that over the last 2 months. I'd actually put the microscope on Pedo this week. Has had 7 poor quarters over the last 2 weeks and was worse than bad against Sydney. He was admirable between rounds 6-13 but he just plays too many poor and ineffectual games to be considered a regular.
  22. Not sure they're a danger. They've won 3 in a row against North, GC (home) and Freo who lost Sandilands when they were leading. If they beat Richmond this week and Essendon then I'll start to take notice of them.
  23. Hogan's a young player who's been through a heck of a lot this year. A VFL return isn't as silly as it sounds...even though it doesn't help our injury plight. That being said, we'd have to be the most conservative club in the league. When the stakes are getting serious in August, surely we'll start rolling the dice a bit more.
  24. More likely to play VFL than AFL.
  25. Hogan to return via VFL. Weed highly likely to be picked. Sauce - Mitch Cleary, 3AW sports today.
