Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
You'd be surprised if the ins/outs aren't: In - Viney, Hannan Out - Kent, JFK Genuine 50/50 game, but if we can keep the scoreboard ticking like we do in all our wins we can win this. Plus most of Ablett, Selwood, Danger, Kelly and Hawkins will need to have average games by their standards. Not 100% happy with the Viney inclusion considering he'll be under done in a high stakes game, out midfield was purring without him and Kennedy-Harris and Spargo (one of whom will cop a bullet) were improving by the week and will be unlucky to miss. Is anyone going to be angry if we lose by a few goals and declare it a wasted and failed season? Or are we all going to acknowledge that we're seriously on the right track and a loss in our first final in 12 years is not going to get in our way of achieving serious success over the next few years.

Finals Tickets
"Tickets hare officially sold out for Melbourne V Geelong" - Gerard Healy, 3AW, 4 September 2019. I log into ticketek this morning and there are still seats available in the public. Is it too much for these so called professionals to do a little research and not misguide the public?

Key tactical issues v Geelong
Yeah you're spot on. I forgot to include their win over us. ADJUSTED MCG RECORD: Geelong 2-5 (.28) Melbourne 5-6 (.45)

Key tactical issues v Geelong
Didn't realise Geelong are just as bad if not worse than us at the G. They have a 1-5 record (0.16) while we have a 5-6 record (0.45)

Key tactical issues v Geelong
If you're worried about Viney being a liability, there's a simple solution...don't play him. Our midfield has been purring for most weeks since he's been out.

70 K tops for our game. MCC will be full. AFL members will be half empty on the top level as neither club has all that many support. Plus a lot of neutral AFL members of will choose to go to Rich v Hawks. A lot of Geelong supporters who live in Geelong don’t turn up on Friday night.

Ben Cousins arrested on drug charges
Feel terribly sorry for the kids. Even their Mum’s failing the drug bus test.

Key tactical issues v Geelong
I also thought we’d win when we kept Buddy to 2 goals.

Sounds awesome. i still have a 1 hour package of that magical Hawks game that Fox Footy showed after that season. Pretty much showed every goal, but so enjoyable.

Key tactical issues v Geelong
If Geelong hold us to under 100 points, then we ain’t winning this game. We are 1-5 when the oppo restricts us to less than 100 with our sole win being against Adelaide in Adelaide.

I ran out of Foxtel IQ space because we won so many games this year! The other day I had delete 2 of our wins so I punted the Carlton win and second of the GC wins. Will get stuck into the North, Essendon, Adelaide (second game), West Coast and GWS wins.

Revenue from TV exposure - 2019
In addition to Queens Birthday and Anzac Eve, I’d say we’ll be looking at the following next year at the least: 1) One home Friday night at the G 2) One away Friday night at Etihad or the G 3) An interstate Friday night 4) An interstate Thursday night

Would also suggest we won't be getting over 70K for this game. Though that would still be a very healthy crowd.

The AFL are predicting 70-75K.

No chance a Melbourne V Geelong final will sell out. Surely not.

Key tactical issues v Geelong
Chris Scott on AFL 360. Said Geelong are way healthier and injury free compared to round 23 last year. Sounded supremely confident of beating us.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Given how much of a shambles Freo's foward line, I'd expect Freo to pay up big. Real big. Pick 5 and their second rounder would be a great start.

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final
Friday nights fanstatic. LOL at all the Richmond supporters having a meltdown for copping the Thursday night. The AFL clearly giving the viewers what they want for Friday night footy.

Round 23 Non MFC Games
Have we? The record books state we’ve beaten them once in 12 years.
-
GAMEDAY - Round 23
And they’d be lucky to get 10K to it. Plenty of free over the counter tickets given away at McDonalds for the locals to fatten up the crowd.

GAMEDAY - Round 23
Any truth to the rumour of JFK in for Hannan per another thread? Apparently Hannan was in the injured group yesterday at training.

GAMEDAY - Round 23
GWS were the big beneficiaries of last night, as they’re now guaranteed not to travel week 1. If they win they’ll play us at Spotless If they lose they’ll play Sydney at the SCG. I wonder if that changes their approach in any way - ie resting a sore Phil Davis. Can’t wait to the reception when we run out today.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 23
No, JFK was dropped after the Sydney game because he’s not good enough. He lacks composure (see the miss late in the Geelong game), can’t take a mark when there’s inferred pressure and doesn’t have any point of difference as an AFL player. Hannan out today would be disappointing, however I can’t recall him playing back to back good games, particularly this year.
