There's precedence to such spectacular crashes the following year. Fremantle went from being 16-2 after round 19 2015, to going 4-18 the next year. Agreed. May's the defender on the big bucks, so he takes the opposition's marquee key forward. Hogan's had a rough month, but he still played a brownlow vote worthy game Vs Freo in round 5 and kicked 2 goals against Collingwood in round 11.

Since the round 7 game v's Hawthorn, the stats are horrifying: Melbourne 56.80 - 41% Opposition - 76.43- 64% We've had 14 more scoring shots than the opposition. If we're accurate against Freo, we win. Pure and simple.
