  1. Did you manage to find out the answer?
  2. I think the Dons were $11.00 to beat us that day. What was even more frustrating was that we knocked off 4th placed GWS to open the season the week before.
  3. Any idea what year that was? Early 80's I'm guessing? That's a little cringe worthy that they sang the song after a loss.
  4. No doubt he had a horrible first quarter giving away frees and turning the ball over. However he did some really nice things after quarter time and will be an asset for Hawthorn.
  5. Frost made mistakes in the first quarter but had a very good final 3 quarters last week IMO, and the Hawks supporters across the forums were more than satisfied with his performance. A good pick up for the Hawks and potentially a bad loss for us if May continues his injury prone stint with us, we get the 2019 version of O Mac and Lever doesn't become the star we were expecting.
  6. Good luck to them. Already off to a poor start dropping a home pre season game to Port despite not a single injury on the list.
  7. I'd love for that to happen, but I'm thinking Petracca and his management would prefer a 2 year extension, as that would take him to free agency.
  8. I agree that Melksham had a poor game by his standards. However he seems to be the sort of players that needs a few hit outs and never really starts the season on fire. He's also been in rehab a little over pre season. Also, when he returned from injury last year, he was less than useless in the his first 2 games back, but then kicked 5 goals over the next 2 games to finish the season. I still think he'll have a good year.
  9. I think he has a groin.
  10. What the? i was pleased with yesterday but I just thought it was worth acknowledging that Adelaide were without Sloane and Laird (2 very high quality players) in the second half after we were trailing at half time. I wasn’t putting a negative spin on yesterday. Just stating the facts. And they also had Walker, Smith and Seedsman out. It’s highly likely we still would’ve won had Sloane and Laird played out the game, as we looked the fitter side.
  11. Enjoyed the win like everyone else. Positive signs and we looked fit which was most pleasing (aside from Petracca’s outrageous performance!) Just a little mindful though that Sloane and Laird didn’t play the second half and Gibbs missed the last qtr.
  12. Harmes had a full game at half back vs North last year (rd 23) and played well I thought. I think he starts there, particularly given Brayshaw needs to come back in to the midfield.
  13. Apart from Walker, Smith, Knight and Seedsman are they missing anyone else? Sounds pretty even in the ‘missing’ list. I would be disappointed if we can’t beat an inexperienced Adelaide.
  14. Disappointing to be 9 points down at half time down against a very inexperienced Adelaide. Having said that, late in the second quarter we had Weid, Jackson and Sparrow in the centre vs Sloane, B Crouch and their starting ruck in O’Brien. So it’s full on experimentation mode.
  15. T Mac, Jackson and Melksham starting deep fwd
  16. Be interesting to see how Melksham and Frisch go up forward with the support of T Mac, Weid and Brown as opposed to being the number 1 and 2 forward’s - per the last month of last year. Both teams probably have about the same quality and quantity out so would be hoping for a win. We need to get back in that winning frame of mind - for the players and supporters.
  17. Very generous and magnanimous assessment of our 2019 season.
  18. The Jakovich show! Must have been a memorable day for a Dee supporter. We never had any many issues beating them at Moorabbin in the late 80/early 90s. It was at the G the kept beating us (1989, 90, 91 through to 99)
  19. No club and it’s supporters celebrate a pre season win like the Saints. Remember the players got canned for singing the song after beating North last year at Werribee.
  20. I could be wrong but I think Jones only had small stint in rehab whilst Spargo probably spent until late January in rehab. So yes, a surprise that Spargo got named, but Jones should be fit, firing and ready to go. Hunt and Hore will probably get a game V's North next week, but it probably indicates that they're very borderline for a round 1 gig.
  21. Taking my MFC hat for a second, I Thought Frost was good after quarter time. Certainly did more good than bad.
  22. Probably helps that Gil barracks for them.
  23. Would like to see Sam Weideman absolutely rip a game apart, so why not start on Saturday? Top 10 draft pick into his fifth year. I know he's only played 31 games out of a possible 91 but I want to see a consistent season of 20 games and 30 goals as he approaches hiss 50 games milestone. Looking for big things from him on Saturday.
