  1. I thought he was ok. Became a bit more involved.
  2. Had a poor season and he and Brayshaw were a victim of Petracca taking key midfield minutes away from those two. Doesn't play with any point of difference as a half back flanker and I can't see him being a heavily involved forward. He played his best 2 games of footy in the round 23 2018 GWS game and Geelong final the week after, and we all know what position he played in those games.
  3. Actually had one of his better seasons and it was a big improvement on his 2019. As Deeoldfart mentioned above, he's a 7/10 player but I'm unsure if he can take his game to a higher level at half back flank. Needs to be utilised more around our forward 50 arc as some of his low dart shots at goals are a thing of beauty.
  4. Deserved a contract extension based on his last 2 games of the year but must be well done the pecking order of a game next year. If M Brown's getting a game next year, it probably means that T Mac's continuing to be a disaster, Weideman hasn't come on as yet or Ben Brown's injured.
  5. Hopefully the short extension is Jackson and his manager backing him in for a big pay day after a very good 2021 season rather than Jackson keeping one eye on his home state. Very good news that he's got a contract beyond 2021.
  6. A finish outside the top 10 is disappointing for a high priced acquisition such as Lever. Had good moments within games rather than overall great games. One of his excellent attributes are his reading of the play and he took some crucial intercept marks in the dying minutes of our close wins such as Carlton and Essendon. I'm not sure if you can teach that or if it's a natural ability but it's great attribute to have and one that will ensure Lever will be solid member of our best 22 next year.
  7. His papers were stamped in one of the Cairns games when they had to send him to full forward just to stay out of everyone’s way. Still, all credit to him for his 2018 season. He and Frost were our 2 key defenders during Melbourne’s best month of football since the year 2000.
  8. I'm flabbergasted this guy came third in the brownlow given his output in subsequent seasons. I'm one of those in the "it's midfield or not much else" camp for Brayshaw. Therefore we should've seriously considered trade options for him post season - and we may well have but couldn't get an enticing offer. He has played some outstanding games as a midfielder - eg - 37 touches and 3 goals against Adelaide in 2018.
  9. Wasn't impressed. Two games and looked way out of his depth in both of them. Did show a bit however in that Arden Street practice match against North where both sides had a combo of senior and VFL listed players. Hopefully through natural development over the pre season, he takes a big step up as we have poor small forward depth compared to say a St Kilda.
  10. So would I but he sounds like he has off field issues (or at least he has in the past). Very decent small defender.
  11. Billy Gowers would come close. Wood has some talent. Can recall him kicking 4 goals against Sydney including the winning goal a couple of years back at the SCG, and he was too much for us to handle in a game against North in mid 2017 at the MCG (not the Hobart debacle that same year) He may be the worst player in the league but he's not the least talented if that makes sense?
  12. Unlike Dangerfield to advocate less product while campaigning for higher player wage.
  13. Any idea if we’re going back to proper 20 minute quarters or are we keeping the Mickey Mouse format of 16 minute quarters? We were the only league in the world that had shorten their games to get a season in, which the media seem to overlook, but at the same time heap praise on Gil for completing a season. Any word when the season starts? 15 or 22 April?
  14. It’s not a possibility that at least two sides will drop out of the 8. It’s an absolute definite that at least two sides will drop out and has been since 1995 when the final 8 was introduced the year before. Anyone from this year’s finals can miss, even Richmond.
  15. I hope your info is wrong. We ought to be livid at the club if Jackson wants to go home. Develop him for 2 years so West Coast can reap the benefits. There were plenty of great VIC prospects available to us such as Serong, Young, Day etc... who were not flight risks.
  16. A brilliant pick up whom we apparently targeted very early in 2019. Had a great season but he and the club would want more than a 2 goal 8 behind return.
  17. An absolute bomb of an investment. Didn't play well in any games except for some glimpses in the NSW hub games. If we did re-sign for next year, he wouldn't be in my best 22. Good on us for supporting him but I can't see any more left field selections for a while.
  18. Are Jackson and Rivers close mates? Or do they have nothing much to do with each other aside from both being from WA?
  19. T Mac's staying according to Mahoney. And he might return to defense which I'm in favour of.
  20. Does this in any way make up for losing 18 of the last 20 games to Norf? Nar probably not....
  21. Good pick up by North if true. Apparently a really good football person and might be another Fagan success story.
  22. King's done a massive 180 on us. In 2018 he was the leading fan boy in the media massively pumping up our tyres and only too willing to claim all the credit when we beat WC late in the season to seal a finals birth. Now he doesn't rate us - and you could argue rightly so. Ofcourse it could be sour grapes for losing his key forward.
  23. He’s on record as stating he dislikes football and only does it for the pay cheque.
